Hell no. I got my Iphone at a great student deal, 50$ a month and the phone costed me 30$ here in Canada, why the HELL would I buy a handheld at 400$? I waited for as long as I could for the PS3's price to drop and no way in hell would I pay for a gaming system for more than what I paid for my PS3.-_-
However, Nintendo would NEVER do that. They would rather wait until costs are down and release it at 199.99. Max 249.99 but that's a wee bit of a strech.
[QUOTE="Ragnarok1051"]you must be poor :PGood Lord no. I felt bad buying my PS3 for 300 and its a console.

It's not a matter of being poor or not, it's about being intelligent with your money. Wasting 400$ for a handheld when it's price would go down eventually as well as it's games price is just stupid imo.
This also goes to the PS3 owners who bought their consoles at 500$ for the 20G. I have a friend and I really feel sorry for him since he has no wifi while I have an extra 100G HDD + wifi and almost half the price. I just find it sad but if you don't regret it, by all means ignore my post.
Yes I would.
If you see how much cell phones like The Iphone and Droid X goes for then this is a bargin.
i wouldn't, but i highly doubt that would happen. not bashing sony (well, maybe a little), but i think the companies have learned to not launch something with too high of a price point. and honestly, cell phones are often snatched up with a rebate.I wonder why people keep pointing out that it's a handheld. Yeah, it's handheld, but it's also a console. The differentiation is handheld console and home console, not console and handheld.
That being said, being inferior technologically speaking doesn't say anything about the quality of the system. I still personally think that the DS is the best console this gen.

Because, like you said, inferior tech. I could never bring myself to pay more than 50 bucks for a handheld.
Maybe not I would have trouble spending more then $250 for a Console so I doubt I would spend more for a Handheld.

Inferior tech doesn't mean inferior gaming system. I pay for systems to play great games, I'd pay more for a DS than a PS3, for example, because I think the former has a better game library.
I presume you've never bought a handheld before? Not many that sell for 50 bucks.

But those are phones. You can phone people with them and text...
But no I wouldn't pay $400 for a handheld. I'd rather buy like 6-8 games for my 360 than spend that much on a 3DS. I plan to buy it when its a cheaper, like $250 or so.

No, it doesn't mean inferior gaming, but it does mean, wait for it, inferior tech. Which is, usually, cheaper tech. Cheaper parts means it costs less to produce, which should translate to cheaper sales price. Anything outside standard mark up is just price gouging.
No, I've never bought a handheld. I had an original gameboy and there's a gameboy advance floating around here somewhere. The only game I've cared to play on either is Tetris.

Ah, I see your point. ;)
[QUOTE="surrealnumber5"]no console should ever cost more then 299clone01here, here. i really do believe that is the magic price point. i like it lower but that is my max
Nintendo has rumored that the 3DS "be online all the time." Hinting at their own 3G network or something. If may be a phone too.
[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"]wait, what? at $400 there is NO WAY it can succeed. If it won't succeed then it won't get enough games. If there aren't any games then the system is not worth $400. There, your mind is officially blown. No, I don't want to own a system that's going to fail.
