If Xbox scraps the ability to use Used Games for their next system will it be a deal breaker for you and cause to jump ship to either PS 4, Wii U?
I'll put up a poll later.
Edit: This is assuming PS4 and Wii U can play used games.

IF this happens, and that's a big if, then I wouldn't buy their next system. If all three did it, I would have to go to the dark side, and figure out how to make a gaming PC.
The backlash that would occur if they did that would destroy their next system. I doubt they'll do this.
I seriously doubt this will happen, particularly if the rumors about walmart getting into the used games business turn out to be true. One thing about the retail world is that you don't piss off walmart.
Well I've kinda' jumped ship to PC already... next time I turn on my 360 will be for Halo 4 I'm guessing.
Yes, I've been known to buy a used game now and then.
Not going to happen. However for the sake of the argument, if they were that boneheaded, then no I would not be buying the Next Box.
I don't even buy that many used games, but I would avoid the system on principle. Much like I refuse to buy most Online Pass enabled games.

No, i like Fable, Witcher, Alan Wake, Halo, Lost Odyssey, Dark Souls, Mass Effect, Gears etc so much, that i would buy a xbox 720 instantly for any of them, no matter what
I pretty much already jumped, I just keep climbing aboard every now and then to grab some provisions :P.
I've already jumped ship. They have abandoned the core gamer by focusing almost entirely on Kinect. Halo and Forza every other year is not enough for me to buy the next Kinectbox.
It also ticks me off Microsoft refuses to let anything go for free on Xbox live. It's not enough to pay the Live fees but then they want more money for more stuff that is free elsewhere. I hope the next Kinectbox is a huge failure. Let's see if "casual" gamers will continue to support MS when the fad ends.
Who cares about used games, I'd jump ship because they've jumped ship on core exclusives and free online.
Xbox brand is d00med.

So the system that costs money to play online and has no games is outselling the PS3 WORLDWIDE, what does that say about the PS3? If the Xbox 360 is doomed, PS3 is DEAD.

It says the PS3 has been out a year less and priced almost twice as much all gen long. And even then, it still outsold the 360 when compared directly without adding the year head start. Oh snap. Xbox is d00med.[QUOTE="brennanhuff"][QUOTE="Eddie-Vedder"]

Xbox is d00med. Ah, the tried and true "year head start" argument. Let me ask you this, why do sheep not pull up that argument? Oh wait, I know, Its because their system actually sold well, as opposed to rotting with no games for the first 2 years of it's lifecycle. And on second note, the PS3 has NEVER been double the price of the 360. 2006 20gb 360- $399 2006 20gb PS3- $599 thats a difference of 33%, you moron. And this is the biggest gap of the gen, when comparing consoles with similar features. Dont try to thorm me that the Arcade vs the top-tier PS3 BS, not gonna work. Fact is, Sony, and the PS3, lost. The 360 atm does not have many exclusives, but to the average gamer this doesn't matter because there are so may great multiplats. In 2007, there were nowhere near as many good multiplats, and the PS3 suffered. Xbox outsold the PS3 in 2011 Worldwide. The gap grows bigger, not smaller. Sony is bleeding money as they have been since 2005. The Vita is set to be a colossal failure. At this rate, there wont be a PS4. MS, on the other hand, is as rich as ever, and fully ready to launch an amazing next-gen system. It's funny how you cows always bring up this year-head start thing, especially since both the PS1 and PS2 did it. Those systems had some great exclusives that everybody wanteed tough, the PS3? not so much.not buying kinect causal box 2.0 regardless..the used game issue would just be lulz worthy and offer a lot of comedy gold in SW's. Heil68I have a question for you: What explanation did you have for hating the Xbox prior to 2010?
Yes, but I didn't have much intention of buying another Xbox system ever again. However Sony might try something like this too, they already do it with online pass crap, so we'll see.
Unfortuantely though I can definately see MS doing this, and they recently bought out some company that makes CD Codes for PC games, why would they do that? Let's just hope this is just speculation and doesn't become reality.
Although the sad thing is, IF (and I cannot stress that enough) they decided to do the no used games thing, there will be idiots that would defend this practice.
Don't believe me? There are idiots that defend Xbox Live and MS focusing on Kinect mostly, so trust me there will be plenty of morons out there that will defend this crap.
yeah i would just write them off. if i wanted to be backed into a corner on ownership of games and the inability to rent i would just game on pc.
renting is one of the few ways that consoles justify their existence, without that they are a terrible alternative to pc and would never hold any interest for me.

On the flipside, Sony has implemented online passes into their games, MS has not. (I think the Gold subscription is the reason) I honestly don't think they will be that stupid and axe used games altogether. Xbox sales - 33 million
360 sales - 66 million
PS2 sales - 140 million
PS3 sales - 62 million.

Ok, good for you. If Sony does the no used games thing too I will upgrade my PC, I would mabey still get a PS4 but only for the exclusive games I would want for it, but most of my gaming would be spent on PC next gen if that were the case.
Which would suck because PC is where this stuff started, however it's put in place to stop piracy which is rampant in the PC gaming market, so they have a reason. MS does not, just by trying to make a little more profit from stopping used game sales.
Online pass is crap, but MS has done it too. BF 3 and Mortal Kombat both require online passes, so does the upcoming Mass Effect 3. It has nothing to do with Gold, it's just MS hasn't implemented the feature yet because there haven't been many Xbox Exclusives to come out yet. There are rumors that Halo 4 will have an online pass as well, I hope not.
Not being a fanboy, but it is the truth. Let's hope MS and Sony don't think they can push consumers around like this.

Sells don't determine quality, I guess you think the Wii is the best system ever because it sold more than 360 and PS3 combined right? Also here'ssome fun for ya:According to the thread you made yesterday about 360 sells vs PS3 sells, you posted that Killzone 3 sold 1 million more copies than Halo CE Anniversery.
Now Killzone 3 has been out longer than Halo Reach so of course it's going to have overall more sales, however Halo CE just came out a few months ago and it's already 1 million behind Killzone 3, that's because it's selling at a faster rate than KZ3. And eventually it will outsell KZ3, just right now KZ has more sales overall.
Same thing with PS3 and 360, right now 360 has more overall sales because it came out first. However the PS3 has been selling at a faster rate ever than 360 ever since the PS3 slim hit the market, it's only a matter of time before the PS3 overtakes the 360 in overall sales.
So your defeated by your own logic, I don't have to do anything. You think sales determine quality, so obviously that means Killzone 3 is better than Halo CE since it has more overall sales.
I think both games are great BTW, but in your logic KZ3 >>> Halo CE. Using your logic Wii >>> 360 >>> PS3, or what is selling at a faster rate Halo CE >>> KZ3 but using that logic PS3 >>> 360
You can't have it both ways, sorry.
