I wonder what characters the TC thinks are well thought out and deep. I bet he says something like Drake.
black_chamber99
notice I never said master cheif was a bad character
Ok but still what characters do you think are deep and thought provoking?A flawed character is a bad one? Jesus, do you not read books or watch proper movies/TV shows? The best characters are the flawed ones. Every human is flawed, it makes them relatable. Not like a Nathan Drake character where everything bad happens to him but he never learns or grows and still has the mindset he started off with.
Generic green robot/cyborg elevated to one of the most prominent gaming icons...
It's basically Doomguy, but without the double shotty and funny facial expressions.
Never was into the Halo lore, I was interested just in blasting aliens and running them over with the Warthog...
This. Wtf is the TC talking about?Being kidnapped from your home at the age of six, trained as a soldier, fed propaganda, experimented on, and watching pretty much eveyone you grew up with die horrible deaths will do that to a person.
DarkLink77
It does more than that. Someone would've killed himself if that happened. Luckily MC is a viduah game character and written that way :PBeing kidnapped from your home at the age of six, trained as a soldier, fed propaganda, experimented on, and watching pretty much eveyone you grew up with die horrible deaths will do that to a person.

Yeah. I see nothing special about him. He's just a boring gentleman with metal armour fitted on him.
The Xbox 360 doesn't have any good characters. This is why it doesn't have games like PS All-Stars and Super Smash Bros.
Lems will have to face the truth. Master Chief is nothing but a boring character that is forgettable. Even Nomad from Crysis is more popular.

I mean come on if you're going to be a troll at least be creative. This isn't even good trolling, it should be funny or original in some way, or at the very least less blatant.Being kidnapped from your home at the age of six, trained as a soldier, fed propaganda, experimented on, and watching pretty much eveyone you grew up with die horrible deaths will do that to a person.

Wow, looking at that, guess I'm way behind when it comes to Halo lore. For me, Master Chief is just a green suit ruthlessly killing a bunch of aliens... :P

In Halo 4, I found out it actually has a story. you guys are doing better than me... I havent played a halo game all the way through since halo 1. I never played 2, played an hour of 3, skipped the off shoots and may get 4. it looks compelling for some reason.I'm baffled that anyone can consider master chief to be a good character, he might as well have been a mute.

[QUOTE="3Guilty_4Spark3"]And worst of all, Chief's a 46 yr old virgin. That must suck.ZevianderHe doesn't age in cryosleep. And a side effect of the SII augmentation procedures is severely reduced sex drive. I don't think he cares.
So Chief can't get it up? lol, what a loser. Snake and Kratos be gettin some action ALL the time.

I never found him to be interesting, he has zero personality and just serves as a generic super soldier. Cortona has more personality in him, I don't know how people can say the Halo games have good storylines, I honestly don't see it.
Maybe the books are good, but that's because they are books. We are talking about the games only here, and they do not deliver a good story. The invasion of Reach never felt like an invasion.
There isn't much to him, people go by his COOL mechanical bike rider look. Besides, he is a superior soldier...so yeah, little to no emotion and all combat. soapandbubbles
People think his mechanical biker look is "cool"? Maybe if they're 12yo...
MC design is as generic as it can get

I think Master Cheif appeals to a younger audience. The 360 fanbase is probably made up of younger mostly kids could not afford a PS3 when it launched, so they had their parents buy them a 360 instead with Halo.
I would argue that most 360 users only started gaming this gen or last gen.

[QUOTE="mems_1224"]
have you ever seen a Power RangerVaasman
Yes, and MC looks like one
Every game or movie where someone wears a visor, that character is now a power ranger. Because that's apparently all that's required to be the exact same thing.
Yup, MC is just a metalic green Power Ranger
Deal with it
So the 360 costs more than the PS3 (do to XBLG) but 360 gamers can't afford a PS3.. :? You must have been a Romney Supporter.. :lol:I think Master Cheif appeals to a younger audience. It's amazing how hard he tries to justify the PS3. He brings that "people can't afford a PS3" argument into every thread he enters.

I wasn't being serious, and I voted for Obama I'll have you know
I wouldnt call him pathetic, perhaps boring would be a much better term. Cause if you think about it, his story constructs his persona has a super soldier in a tin suit. However lets not forget this character was created in an era where story wasnt usually considered as important so that explains his faceless, macho power ranger mech type look (fits all the cliche). If people considered soldiers in video game that actually had persona, we would mention Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series

Speaking of Master Chief, Shadowmoses and pathological lying - I finished the campaign dude. You know the one you said you played/observed friends playing? The one you said is 'full of quick time events.' WEIRDEST THING, there are no quick time events at all outside of the first level and even then there are only two; press X to open door and press X to pull an elite over the edge. Did you play a different version of the game that's chock full of QTEs? Can you loan me it?I don't see why, they should be rated T.
ShadowMoses900
So, the individuals who grade at the ESRB should defer to your wondrous judgement?
MATUREContent is generally suitable for ages 17 and up. May contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.
Seems to outline aspects of Halo to me. Intense violence, with blood and gore (though it's mostly alien blood).

There is no gore in Halo, nor is there any sexual content or F-Bombs. It should be rated a T game at best.
An M rated game should be like Fallout or something, where you shoot the guy's head off. Even the old COD games are more violent than Halo, and those are rated T.

You realize that they are legal ratings, right?
You're saying that games will cater to younger audience, but kids will play it solely for the mature rating? It doesn't make sense if it caters to a young audience, by providing mature content.
You cant troll retroactively my friend. We've been over this. You repeat the same cycle over and over again of 'say stupid thing', 'defend stupid thing to the hilt' and then 'claim to have been trolling all along.' At least now we know we can automatically dismiss any game you claim to have played as lies. Thanks for clarifying.I was trolling, it was obvious I wasn't being serious dude.

Here is their rating process. It astounds me that you think you are more qualified to ascertain the game's intended age level.
It contains an immense amount of violence. All you do is kill things :?
