Well this is the AUS ign opinion so what can you do. I disagree with a few especially ff13. Its a love or hate game they basicly hated it.
There's already a thread on this. I believe people largely agree with IGN.
Filthybastrd
I agree with number 1 ff13 was a trainwreck and I am surprised how kind reviewers were to it
fueled-system
Well cause its there opinion FF13 is easly a 8.5 game in my eyes. There are some things that keep it from 9 and up and no its not the lack of towns since I always find towns pointless. Its mainly how linear the maps are. Some medium size areas at least whould have been nice. Not the size of something like ff12 which maps were to big for its own good, but something in between. Besides that Ilove the combat.Like the cast and VO execpt for vaniel.
Looks like they waited for gt5 to come out to make this list ;/. At least they could've wait for epic mickey to come out.
Or the end of the year... But given the year so far, I must agree.Looks they waited for gt5 to come out to make this list ;/. At least they could've wait for epic mickey to come out.

Yeah this list appeared as if it had GT5's name all over it. I think some reviewers and gaming sites were already bracing to be disappointed given the high expectations.. oh well.Looks they waited for gt5 to come out to make this list ;/. At least they could've wait for epic mickey to come out.

I don't know why your guys say GT5 shouldn't be there... they probably played it by now, so they probably know what they are talking about.
I disagree with most of that list. Motion Gaming is here to stay people and we need to learn to accept that. The only reason Move was on there was because of its lack of games, not because its a bad idea. Also Fable 3 was a really good game and didnt dissapoint, also the FF13 hate needs to stop. Kane and Lynch 2 was way worse, FF13 was actually a fun game with a good story.MoonMarvelits funny how they gave it a 8.9..., just not to give it a 9 like they did killzone2

It's both the score and the waiting what they were considering... It's kinda like TooHuman's case, so Isee nothing wrong with that, although I'm a bit surprised about that score. Expected at least AAA TBH.
In before all the Alpha Protocol-hate. It's a hidden gem.Elann2008
More of a hidden rhinestone.
There were a lot of good ideas in it, and I enjoyed it for the first couple hours, but at some point I realized that large parts of the game just didn't work well, mainly the combat. Much as I tried to treat it like an RPG, it never stopped feeling like a bad TPS.
FFXIV wasn't a disappointment, because I don't know a single person who expected it to be good.FFXIV should've been on that list. But I agree with most of the list.

And that's when I stopped taking the list seriously.

The scores add up. They said that it's an excellent simulator thatis sloppy and unpolished and they ragged on the career mode and were not overly impressed with the online offerings. That easily equals up to an 8.5.
Not that bad of a list. I disagree with GT5 being that high though.UCF_Knight
I find it odd that it made the list at all. Plenty of disappointments to go around this year, but I just dont consider GT5 to be one of them. Seems more like massive flame bait on IGNs part. As for the rest of the list though, I must agree. FFXIII was my biggest disappointment this gen, so its nice to see it at #1.

I disagree that GT5 is number two as has only been out for a few days.muller39

Both Kinect and Move haven't justified their asking price and I doubt they ever will for many reasons (unless a price drop occurs)... On a side note I like your avatar.. Girls' Generation is surprisingly addictive.... I never thought I'd like Korean pop music, and this is coming from someone who listens mainly to rock :|
Decent list, I'm sure there's 1 or 2 they missed but overall 2010 was an awesome year for the gamer. Yeah fanboys will disagree but most of the crap on that (minus Move/kinet) had higher hype than what it got. Most gamers knew Kinect/Move would suck balls and that most of it was hot air.

The same motivation every other site has. Controversy -> Page views -> Ad revenue Also Controversy -> Page views-> flame wars in comments section-> new members to partake in said flame wars"which consists of essentially moving in a straight line for the first twenty hours, repeatedly hitting X."

Sure they boiled it down to a ridiculous point. The same could be done for any game really. But I gotta admit with FFXIII that is about what my experience felt like. Besides the occasional boss fight requiring a little effort, I truly felt like I was running down a corridor mashing x up until the next cut scene.
They make such a good point about Crackdown 2:
Crackdown 2 is a sequel of the worst kind, delivering a nearly identical city, barely reworked beyond the colouration, and gameplay that is largely identical to the first game. Why does this game exist? Why?IGN

How is that not an accurate statement?
Besides the line part isint that every RPG? When you battle you do have to pick with x to attack and pick the move you wanna do. So yea that statment does make them look stupid after the line part.

There are plenty of times you can take an alternate paths to grab a treasure and/or fight more monsters, or where you jump from one spot to another, pr where the map becomes more circular. There's more than just walking straight. FFXIII is one of the more linear games, but it's not THAT linear.
And only pressing X in battle would get you killed in many battles. You'll need to take advantage of the paardigm shift if you want to beat an enemy, or atleast do so in as an efficient a way as possible.

Really, though, what they said wasn't flame bait. People are just mad at the choice, which makes perfect sense according to IGN's review.
People have to remember that this is IGN's greatest dissapointments. Not everybody has to agree.
