I'm happy with the number 4 choice , but some games dfon't really belongin that list or should have been placed higher.

This list is a joke, with ME2 winning and actual RPG's like DA:O in the 90's. LOL.gamebreakerz__

It's sad though how one of the largest sites about vidya has to resort to cheap tricks like that in order to get more site visits. Just sad.

Terrible list. You gotta love the way they left out MGS4, a perfect 10 game and PS3 GOTY.

I don't have any issues with the games on the list, but the order is questionable. I was pleased to see Assassin's Creed II and Portal 2 so high on the list though. I haven't played Mass Effect 2 (yet) so I can't comment on that, but I think RDR was a little too high. Personally, I liked GTA IV a lot more. I was surprised to see inFamous 2 there as well.

And Crysis only at 94? It pretty much destroys every other shooter on the list :?

Far Cry 2? Hahahahahah! Hands down one of the worst FPS' of this generation! Mass Effect 2 on the other hand. well deserved! Can't wait for the 3rd

I disagree with the list, but I disagree with almost everything IGN does :S

Happy to see they recognized Far Cry 2, it should be top 40 imo.

Dragon Age and R6 Vegas deserve to be much higher, in the top 20's.

Not the same order I would have put in my own list, but whatever. This is IGN's opinion, nothing more, nothing less. I will be mature and respect their opinion, and not bash it just because I disagree.

Far Cry 2 beat Crysis. This list is meaningless.

IMO Uncharted 2 (#7) and Mass Effect 2 (#1)are symbols of what went wrong this generation along wth the Call of Duty games...

It's a shame that games with top notchperfected gameplay such as Vanquish and Bayonetta are completely absent from that list. I play games almost completely and soley for the gameplay mechanics coupled with good enemy or level design. The main stream majority and game critics tend to disagree with me. While those games still get good scores, they aren't rewarded like Mass Effect 2 and Uncharted 2are with their cinematic flourish that apparently is a substitute for exceptional gameplay these days.

I love good gameplay. Bayonetta had great gameplay. I had to stop playing Bayonetta. The theme was so ridiculous that I felt strange playing it. To me, something like that is detrimental to a game. Personally, while I thought UC2 was a good game, I believe it's a bit overrated. I thought ME2 was fantastic, & one of the best games this generation.

I've only played the demo of Vanquish, & while it seemed great, I'd prefer Gears. It's a superior game overall, despite Vanquish being far better in certain areas. The quality of a game isn't solely determined by its gameplay & enemy+level design.
