IGN's top 100 [Full List]

All the complaining in here is funny. - This is what 2/3 of this thread sounds like /cry This is the worst list ever made because the did not but the exact games I wanted in the exact order I wanted it /cry -

That is the single worst list I've ever seen in my entire life.

Angry Birds, Mirror's Edge, Far Cry 2, Borderlands, Shadow Complex, Viva Pinata, DJ Hero, SSHD, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Wii Sports Resort, Tetris are better than Demon's Souls, MGS, Vanquish, Halo 3, Just Cause 2, etc.?

There is just so, so much wrong with this list.:|

The fact that they toned down the love for Call of Duty 4 and put it in a reasonable place on the list (for a mainstream gaming site, anyway, it shouldn't be on there at all, but whatever) was one of the only things they did right.

That was easily the worst list I've ever seen.

The reactions to lists like this one just show how varied tastes are amongst people who play video games :).

Uncharted 2 is WAY too high.

Don't agree with #1, ME1 was better.

Mass Effect is unispired as hell. The combat is crazy easy untill you bump it up to highest or second-highest difficulty. There's no closure whatsoever. The stat building is on par with dynasty warriors. Ashley is the ugliest bug-eyed ***** i've ever seen. The sniper guy, thane, and professor were cool. But everybody else was bland, Alien with scuba mask, blue person, another blue person. No character developement at all either. I'm sure there would have been character developement though if it wasn't half of a total game. I mean you get your team and do basically one thing the whole game, that you don't even see the result of I mean what the ****. And it's the best game comon now. I know you guys love your pixeled boobs but this game is mediocre.

I have a ton of gripes with the list but this game's praise just gets on my nerves.

lol .. first of all you must have played a different game all together. And secondly story of the game is one of the best space opera. So do you like Fable series better? :lol:

Lol this list isn't terrible, it's beyond terrible. They have a lot of good games there, but they're in the wrong order.

For me, I'd say Demon's Souls is in the top 10 (it's actually my top 5). It innovated and did what hardly no other game this gen wanted to: be daring, balanced, and challenging. Call of Duty 4 should also be in the top 10 I think, because it's got to be the most influential game this gen. Plus it was amazing.

I could go on, but I'll save my breath (or finger strength) lol.

EDIT: I just want to add... Metal Gear Solid 4. That's all :P.

Mass Effect 2 is the best game this gen.

• Completely immersive story
• Connection to characters
• Splendid blend of RPG and TPS
• Exploring the Milkyway feels like a Discovery Channel Space program(A good thing)
• Action scenes are a blast.

I'm playing the game now, it truly is a masterpiece but Demon Souls at 100 invalidates the list.

Not really. It shows the people behind the lists had no idea what they were doing. ;) If I were to make a list and put Big Rigs at number 1, it wouldn't be because people have different tastes but because I'm either A) trolling or B) clueless

IGN has actually made a good list before with their top 100 of all time but now it seems they are one of the two options I listed above.

We have 2 rpgs, a fighting game, a puzzle game, a 3d straight platformer, 3 sand box games, a fps and a tps.

And due note the FPS on the list has been descrobed as an interactive liturature novel, and the tps has everything great about an indiana jones film with light plotforming.

You say what you will about the list but if base the on current gameing on the top ten, it would clear we do list generic tps/fps and favor other genres.

I think their top 10 list is pretty good, but everything else is very questionable.

I see a lot of linear, scripted games on that list.
