LOL VGChartz numbers LOL.
Xbone isn't anywhere close to 18 million sold. Not even the best case scenario estimates on GAF put it past 15 million.
Yes.
The Xbox One was around 12-13 million before Black Friday with it the console now somewhere around 14 million.
Which means the console is selling just as badly as the first Xbox. And of complete surprise to no one other than Xbox fans who live in their own retarded fantasy world of vgchartz, MisterXMedia, and Microsoft press releases, the Xbox One is getting the same poor third party support from developers and publishers as the first Xbox marketplace failure. And it is only going get worse.
What is bizarre about anyone not immediately laughing at the absurdity of a claim of 18 million Xbox Ones sold is that the number doesn't even make sense. It's not the usual inflated/rounded up, or standard Microsoft shipment vs actual sales PR game. It just isn't possible.
Take the lifetime NPD sales for the Xbox One and you are already 80 percent of the way to the current installed base numbers for the system. Sales in Japan and all of Europe other than the UK are close to rounding errors.
Developers and publishers looking at why the should bother devoting resources to the Xbox One only have to look the past two years of NPD numbers for the Xbox One to see just how slow the worldwide installed base of the system will grow over the next year or two.
Even worse for the Xbox One is the fact that Microsoft has been in desperation mode with price cuts, bundle deals, and absurd amounts of retailer incentives - all of which have done nothing to increase sales. The true cost of the Xbox One has already been down in the range where any healthy console should have exploded in sales. There simply is no demand for the Xbox One outside the very same almost entirely US based original Xbox fanbase.
Xbox fans are constantly crying about how developers and publishers are increasingly not bothering to support the Xbox One. But if it was their own money they had to risk on development, not a single one would even think of wasting their money on the Wii U.
