First of all, I removed long distance battles from my arguement. and unless I am sniping I never played long distance. I find the battle rifle to be a relatively uneffective weapon at least from what I can remember. In a short range battle anything that is auto has a much higher chance to win and in a long range battle it can be effective, but I don't find it to be worth the risk to stay long range when the opposition could potentially have a sniper rifle. Now I have seen some Halo 3 "pro" matches and they play the game a little differently than the average person in your pug does, and maybe that would be more fun, but I never took Halo too seriously... so I didn't join a clan for more strategic battles. Also the eye rolls don't emphasize your arguements anymore, they are just annoying.bigrhyno
Take a BR into close range and aim for the head while moving backwards and listen too ppl complain about the fact that they couldn't reach u when the ran forword with a AR/smg and couldn't get in a melee.
LOL @ Halo bashers.
Anyone who is not a fanboy or close-minded knows that Halo and Call of Duty 4 can't be compared. You may prefer one over the other, but they are drastically different.
Also, LOL @ the person who thinks the hammer is unbalanced. I can take out a hammer guy with plenty of weapons (Shotgun, sticky grenades, sniper rifle w/ no scope, power drainer + battle rifle, hell even battle rifle alone if I utilize grenades).

Because the PC version will have mod's that make it a much, much better game.
But there are a lot of console gamers who just have no clue. To them CoD4 is a "fresh" gaming experience.
These people had their FPS online MP cherry pop-ed with games like Halo and are still fumbling in the dark.
not just that i have the xbox version and when i die from someone sniping the sky above my head it makes my jaw drop. In a very bad way.
people hack the xbox version? lol, 2 bad the x360 dosent have punkbuster or VAC
i dont think its hack i just think its combo of lag, bad hit boxes and probably some other stuff.

I have had people try that, and I can just spam nades behind them and chances are they will back into one and blow up... even if they kill me first. Then when you go for the grenade throw, the other person can approach you and beat you down. You wouldn't stand a chance since it takes a second to do the grenade animation.
Or they could keep backing up and jump to one side.

i never said it was unbalenced i said it is a 1shot and if you are good at not getting shot its an i win button
It doesn't make it unbalanced.
Plenty of guns are 1 shot wins.
Shotgun, sticky grenade, sniper rifle, beam rifle, energy sword, power drainer + battle rifle/carbine, mauler + melee, missile pod, spartan laser, rocket launcher, assasination, trip mine, etc.
Not really unbalanced at all since it broadens the variations of countering each weapon.

If they are far enough to beat me while I am spamming them with a gun with auto then they wont have time to melee me while I throw a grenade. And jumping isn't the best solution since even if you have a good idea, you never know where a grenade will land behind you.Edit: Also I am not pretending to know everything about Halo and that my method is the best, but I find that the way I played worked well for me and Would usually take me to top 3 in scoring in every match I played around lvl 30 (not the highest bracket, but I didn't play too long)
I'll see when the grenade either goes to my left, right, or above/in front of me. Then I'll time my jump and the direction according to where the grenade is.
I rarely die from 1 vs 1 fights with grenades or from being killed beyond the grave. It rarely happens to me, at least.

They lowerd the damage the trip mine takes :( It dosent kill you in one shot anymore it just blows your sheild off . cod1 and UO >Crysis....graphics aint everything
I'm so tired of hearing this stupid, overused, misinformed, ignorant anti-Crysis argument.
I haven't played the game myself. But, a friend of mine has played it and enjoyed it immensely, and he praised the gameplay first, never mentioning the graphics until I brought it up.
GS review states that Crysis is "one of the best FPSs ever created" and they have given it the title of "Best FPS of 2007". Graphics weren't really a big part of the praise.
Admittedly, graphics can give a little edge to your chances (Gears of War anyone?).
Plus, Crysis is most definitely not the FPS for a hardcore MP-shooter lover. The MP is in no way bad, but it's not awesome. The quality of SP in the game apparently makes up for that though.
Whoever thinks Halo 3 is over rated is really missing out. People who say that probably played the game for a day and put it down because they sucked at it. Sucks to be a fanboy.
Halo 3 = unlimited hours of hilarity and fun. Halo 3 > every other multiplayer game as of now.

And to me its obvious they were going for the Halo market. Thus the reason the game was "casualized" to be more playable to your average console gamer.
im not exactly sure what they mean by casualised. ive played all of infinity ward's CoDs and i dont know where people get this casualised crap from? because it has regenerating health, big freaking deal. damn elitists.
I liked CoD4 at first, but it got really boring really quick. I haven't been on one team where anyone has worked as a team to win. When people talk its usually to curse and say "Freaking sniper noobs!" or "Grenade whore!". In Halo 3 though, even when play BTB,most of the time people work as a team to win. In 4 vs 4 slayer, objective and so on team work is required to win. In CoD4 it's pretty much every man for himself.killab2oo5
i hardly remember people working as a team in halo online. there are a few rare instances where you find someone that isnt a complete idiot and actually helps you take the flag or bomb in a warthog. in fact more times than ever i found people team killing me. im grateful that cod4s playlists apart from the hardcore ones removed friendly fire.
the only time ive ever had teamwork in an online shooter is when im playing with my friends online.

Play Hardcore modes, or just normal Search and Destroy. Much more tactical, or Team Tactical game mode with smaller numbers.

Hahaha. That's not true at all. You nd quick reflexes in ALL FPS shooter games. Also, you use autoaim...if u suck...and also the best weapon in halo 3 is available to all--battle rifle. It's also part of the gameplay--the weapon rush and strategy to use different weapons in different situations. It's just a different type of FPS shooter from CoD4, so how can you say one's better than the other one.

There is barely any autoaim in Halo 3, not nearly as much as there was in Halo 2. Halo 2 is still one of the most played games in MLG. Really have you even played ranked matches with people 40+ skill? I'll take that as a no, you have to be a fool who uses the assualt rifle to say that you don't need quick reflexes.

Why is my statement immature and yours isnt? Halo has some of the most simplistic FPS game mechanics out there, if not the most.
You move slow, theres auto aim, you aim slow, you recharge shields, you have sticky grenades, giant hitboxes, 2 hit melee (1 with melee weapons) ... you cant sprint, you cant exactly dodge fire, the Default rifle can kill just by holding the reticle over the target ... it doesnt miss/recoil.
But yea carry on, throwing that little tantrum of yours, I said nothing that suggested immaturity, or anything thats more fanboyish than your responses.

There is a very wide range of players on Halo 3. Yes there are a lot of crappy players who are in the lower ranks, thats the way the skill system is suppose to work. The game gets a lot more challenging once you get above a skill of 40. Anything below that is pretty easy, just play it for a solid 2-4 weeks and you should settle around players in your skill range. The system is for hardcore and casual gamers, the noobs will always play with the noobs, and the better players will rise. It's done this way for a purpose, so that new players don't go into a new game and get raped. Thats a very discouraging thing and not fun for people who are new, and ultimatley many new players will just put the game down because of the unblanced match ups.

In 4 vs 4 slayer, objective and so on team work is required to win. In CoD4 it's pretty much every man for himself.Meu2k7
i hardly remember people working as a team in halo online. there are a few rare instances where you find someone that isnt a complete idiot and actually helps you take the flag or bomb in a warthog. in fact more times than ever i found people team killing me. im grateful that cod4s playlists apart from the hardcore ones removed friendly fire.
the only time ive ever had teamwork in an online shooter is when im playing with my friends online.
How weak, you can't damage your teammate? Now thats casual.
Halo is the very definition of casual ...
Let me guess your immature fanboy logic. The game was hyped to infinity, and was so because of the awesome games that were Halo and Halo 2. It sells millions of copies and gets great reviews, but since everybody has heard of the game that makes it casual? Halo 3 is one of the most hardcore games out now. You know you would never stand a chance against people who play the game competitively.
Because my post was thought out and accurate, yours was 5 words and a slang word. Your last post just describes the reasons you don't like it, some but none of them make it casual. You can't bash a game for the reason that you suck at it.
Sorry its casual. When I can pick it up for the first time and completely annihilate kids online its casual. CS is hardcore. Try never playing the game and then playing against people online and I guarantee you will be like 1-12 kill to death ratio.
Killfox
yeah ill admit cs is pretty damn hardcore. i think the reason its difficult at first is because the veterans are still at it. it took me a while until i could actuallly 'pwn'. then cod4 came out and now i suck at cs :( (i was pretty damn good too). however i found cod4 more fun.
however in cs, there can really be some proper BS moments. the hitboxes for the head were fairly large and lag was a bit more of an issue for me. more times than often i would get shot when i was around the corner.
TF2 owns bothdarkmagician06
I got pretty sick of TF2 after around a month or so. I was pretty good, but it just seemed to get stale for me for some reason (I enjoyed the first one MUCH more). I still think its a good game, but it just got old fast for me.
They need to bring out a new map pack or something.

Yep, carry on kid, I mean who the hell uses the "He sucks so he complains" excuse ... those game mechanics DO make it casual wether you want to admit it or not, its OVERLY-ACCESSABLE to the point where its slow and limited.

Well everybody elses logic seems to be that the game is too casual , and is so because it is too easy. Im just stating that the game takes much skill, and that higher ranked players would wipe the floor with the people making those comments. I got a comment that CS is hardcore, and I would have a k/d ratio of -12 in my first game. Well I would hope so, since the ranking sytem is pretty non existent. There are just so many great things that Halo 3 does right, from mechanics and controls, to weapons and vehicles, user created content with forge, and the theatre mode. The game always offers something exciting and fun, and it does take a lot of skill. Don't call it casual because you play some little kids in your first matchmaking games at a low rank, because you may have the past experiences with other FPS that would naturally make you better than some noobs. Thats my logic. I can understand not liking the game if your not a big fan of FPS's, but to out right bash it and tag it casual is a bit fanboyish,
