i didn't think it was possible, but FLop of the Year flopzone3 just got dethroned. behold, inflopmas 2

isnt it better to have a flop then nothing?:?

I think I'm going to stop paying attention to reviews all together.

Conspiracy! :o
[QUOTE="shinrabanshou"]It's second to the PC in the metagame, for which the Wii and 360's tallies currently stand at zero. My point being: Exclusives are overrated, multiplats have easily been the best games this gen. And the funny thing is, 360 is basically on par with PS3 the rest of the year for all you fanboys :lol:I've no interest in a discussion of the value of multiplats vs exclusives. Or whether there are games on the 360 or Wii to play. There are.[QUOTE="-RocBoys9489-"]Man, the PS3 is on a roll this year! Year of the PS3, right guys?! Total domination!-RocBoys9489-
I assumed you were referring to the metagame, as it's the only thing this score is of real relevance to here.
The PS3 is having a very good year in that metagame thus far. The PC is having the best out of the systems. The Wii and 360 aren't.

The thing is what did he want to happen with infamous 2. All I wanted infamous 2 to do was run and play better and from what iv seen and experianced it does just that. I wasint expecting epic moral choices since the 1st one showed the game is about clear cut good and bad. Story wise is much harder to explain since things like characters and story are proboly one of the the most opinion basedthings in some games. Also when COD changes nothing and just keeps getting high scores it just makes me scratch my head when other games suffer when its in the same line up.

I see it scoring an 8.0 to max a 9.0 at this point, really now I'm guessing his expectations were seriously high.:?

Maybe this is why so many games are just rehashed these days. Because when developers attempt to improve it, reviewers slam it for not being good enough or to their liking. I'd rather see a rehashed game score lower than a game with a ton of improvements, even if it's not all done right.[QUOTE="theuncharted34"]

its the truth, BO should of gotten 6.5 worse graphics, sound, animation, etc and it still got AAA Infamous 2 with better graphics, sound, animation, etc, and it still flopped. Btw, that GI review of Infamous 2 was great.[QUOTE="theuncharted34"]

I dunno, I have to disagree with him. I can't criticize the score since I've only played the demo, but judging a game based off whether it can make the same leap that Uncharted 2 did seems pretty flawed.
[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]we are getting reports of it was only hyped AAHeil68I thought it was hyped A? That's what I hyped it, so..met hype! In the end its another AE for the PS3..it''s becoming a pain to update the PS3 exclusive spreadsheet so often. No. Just look at the first 10 or 15 pages of this thread. It was AAAE/AAE across the board.

It just seems that expectations are unrealistically high. I'm not really referring to inFamous here, but in general. Game budgets are already spiralling, how much improvement can be expected within a year and a half or two of game development. For this particular game adding powers, improving visuals and implementing a content creation system wasn't enough to get it near par to the original apparently.I do not understand why so many are acting like a score for a game they have never even played is wrong.rybe1025Bu-bu-bu-but the score isn't like the other scores!!

BO didnt just take few steps back but it took a whole generation behind with abysmal graphics, story, animation, etc and it still got AAA
here we have Infamous 2 that improved in every category and it flopped.

For this particular game adding powers, improving visuals and implementing a content creation system wasn't enough to get it near par to the original apparently.Someone had said this before, but I'm guessing it's probably because of the "end of the generation" syndrome. Honestly it's kind of sad and I really don't see how it deserves less than an 8.0 here but hey, I'll figure it out once I play it.:P I think the original deserved a 7.5 or an 8.0 and this one higher from what I've played and seen thus far.:P
As for the expectations, honestly if that's the case I doubt many games that are sequels to very well deserved titles will have a hard time to please editors like these. Sure it's true that there needs to be a limit, but there are some titles that tend to get a free pass every now and then around here..:P
Uncharted 3 will probably not score AAAE here. If it does, the single player will probably have to be a heck lot more impressive this time around and I don't think Naughty Dog can squeeze out more from the formula they mastered thus far.:?
