wow, thanks to that Gamepro review, the metacritic went down to 86. that reviewer was an idiot. he even slammed Sucker Punch for naming a part of New Marais as Flood City because, as the reviewer points out, it is offensive due to the Katria incident. seriously?!

he even said that inFamous 2 is an 'unnecessary sequel' ROFL. i think he's trolled sooo hard it was not even funny. if he ever played the first game, it basically set up a sequel.

here's a fail quote from the review:

"The new ion storm ability is a visual wonder; in a tight spot you can unleash a mini tornado that rips through everything (civilian and enemy) and leaves behind noticeable destruction."

first off, it's called Ionic Storm.

secondly, the mini-tornado power is called Ionic Vortex.

double fail, apparently.

Let me just copy and paste what I said about the demo in another thread.

"Just played the Infamous 2 demo. Oh wow is all I have to say. I am a harsh critic of the first Infamous I suppose. I felt it was a good game with too many problems (7.5 in my eyes). I loved the demo.

One thing I hated about the first Infamous was the awfully bland city, extremely noticeable pop in, and ugly graphics just everywhere. The city just felt too dead, and too colorless. The pop in just didn't work out. I can handle it in a game like AC, but in Infamous 1 it just didn't fit well at all. It was completely noticeable and made the grey areas seem even more uninspiring. All these issues have improved dramatically. Infamous 2 looks a lot better than I thought. Easily the best looking sandbox game I have played on consoles (I used to own RDR and have played Just Cause 2 at a friends house, so I'd say I have good judgement on the subject.). I2 is really colorful and expertly designed. I didn't see any pop in (didn't look for it though).

They also improved the controls. All the powers feel better and the thrusters have improved ten fold. I thought the thrusters in the first Infamous were poorly done. In Infamous 2 they fixed it. Because you start the game with all your original powers, it feels more unified and just a greater game. The new power they showed in the demo was fantastic as well (levitate stuff and throw it). I am pleased. The writing and story in I2 also seems a tad bit better. The writing in Infamous didn't have too many problems though.

I do have a few problems. I2 is quite glitchy and the Melee, while improved, seems a little jittery and ruins the camera. The Camera all around seemed a little out of place. Not bad, but just not quite ideal."

1. The graphics are noticeably better, and the city looks a lot less samey.
2. The combat is better, but it was disorienting being dropped right into it. I would like to be tutorialized further.
3. I officially hate Cole's voice. I haven't heard Evil Cole speak yet, so I'm hoping he sounds different.
4. I really love how there's just a fat music note on the mini-map that tells you where street musicians are, for no apparent reason.

What was the metacritic score of inFamous 1? Mid 80's? Whatever it was, I'm sure that critics in general will prefer inFamous 2. I expect that it will end up with a high AA score on metacritic (but it might scrape into AAA if it's lucky) From GS I reckon it will be either a 9.0 or an 8.5, depending on who reviews it.

Eurogamer 8/10, original inFAMOUS was a 7/10.

Looking like it will be borderline between 8.5 and 9.0 here I'm guessing.

Computer and Video Games Verdict:

"While it isn't an Uncharted beater, strong advances in the visual area with polished, spectacular presentation and a boost to the all important fun-factor make this a must play for PlayStation fans. It absolutely deserves to be up there with the console's best exclusives."

It's looking like the sequel is going to score here what the original should have...An 8.5. That's cool. I still want to play it...

They should do a live review on the E3 show floor. That would be awesome.

I'm going to end up getting the game anyway, but I sure wasn't that impressed with the demo. The graphics look very similar to the original with some extra color, but nothing very impressive considering all the hype around the new graphics. Of course it could look better once the real game is released.

Iterative sequels rarely get those kind of scores. There has to be a real gameplay and narrative transformation between games, like Uncharted 2.

you might as well, so we can prove the hype later :P though it'll be a lower amount of hype than a few months ago though.

I loved infamous, the concept the characters and the story, after the demo, i gotta say I'mpsyched and really happy.

This is the first major ps3 exclusive release after the whoole psn fiasco, so dont expectalot favourable reviews from any outlets, like i've alwayssaid, gaming journalism is in the deepest crevasse of the toilet and it doesnt have the decency to flush itself.

I like the demo but I think it's taking too much for granted. It expects the players of the demo to have already played Infamous 1. So if you didn't play it, you would be kinda lost at first. mrmusicman247

Maybe im daydreaming but didnt the demo have an entire wrap up of Infamous 1 in the beginning of the demo via cutscenes??

there was a small tutorial a the beginning and small hints at the corner of the screen all the time.
