Not really when 360 came out it was pretty powerful machine, it didn't take long to be left in the dust though.

Nope, when the 360 came out, the X1900XTX was already out and it beats the 360's GPU by alot

130,000 players online for a game that sold 7 million copies is really low, and PC players play more than just COD 4 and Halo 3. I agree. With consoles, as soon as Hot Game #2 comes out, everybody stops playing Hot Game #1 to switch to #2. With PC games, people can play old games online for ages. Diablo 2 came out in 2000, yet there are heaps of people playing it today. I still play this game (online and offline) nowdays as well! :D
I'm playing Mortal Kombat 3 over XBL, its going on...13 years since its release.

I agree with that... but it wasn't on the 360 for 13 years. And if another fighting game comes to rival it, it could possibly lose some numbers. Either way, the online community for Diablo 2 would be much larger to that of MK3.

Nah, I think you should.
That card was released 2 months after the 360.
From 2005-2010 hardware will increase in power 8 times. Which they are developing tech for that moment in time.

the main point is that innovation are waht consles are here for.

what was the inovation in GEOW again?
or any of those games really...cause I cant see it.
when I here inovation...I think about games like Spore.
Why spore?
GEOW was one of the best experiance I had this gen, and it was on the 360 first.
yeah, and that doesnt make it inovative in the least bit.
Spore is inovative because its something thats simply never been seen before.

Nope, it wasn't on 360 13 years ago, but it was on consoles 13 years ago and its still on consoles 13 years later. You didn't draw your specifics to any individual console. Still, that has nothing to do with the fact that your generalization isn't true. There are hundreds of other fighters I could be playing other than MK3. And there are more people playing Diablo 2 than MK3 right now? Proof? Even if I agree, I still proved your original statement wrong.

According to Bungie.net there are 130,000 online right now. The only PC shooter that can get that amount of players online at the same time is CS 1.6 and that's rare.
Even WoW?
Talking about shooters.
Yeah, sorry... The Witcher is really a nice shooter or is it?
Where did I mention Witcher? You seriously need to read.
You didnt mentionned Witcher, but this whole argument started with Crysis and Witcher selling stats... and then you went on with shooter games... wondering why your cuting it too shooters only... but i'm sure TF2 does pretty well for PC.

Proof?
Its hard to show any numbers, but Xfire did say it is one of the most widely played PC games online last time I visited the website a few weeks ago. The game still sells many units, there are many fansites for it, and when I log int there are hundreds of peope online on one server. I would question if Mortal Kombat 3 can match this.
are you kidding me?
just log on to Diablo 2...there are still 1000's of people playing at any time.

That's cool and all, but I still like my Wii better than any PC games I played. Good for Intel and Nvidia to speak out and say that console gaming is weaksauce. It doesn't matter what they say, it's what the gamers say.

Nvidia was the reason Xbox tanked early. And if i'm not mistaken, Xbox also used Intel Pentium 3 based processors.Pro_wrestler
I think the Xbox used a customised 733mhz Celeron.
And what exactly did nVidia do to shorten the lifespan of the Xbox? That graphics card did not overheat like the Xenon in the 360 :(

Yeah, Like there aren't 100,000 posts a day about which console is better, or how consoles are better and cheaper then PC.
Gaming consoles are just like any other tech. They become obsolete very quickly. All the advancement that goes on in PCs is unnecessary for the average consumer. I'm still running an AMD 2000+ with 266FSB and a 4x AGP 7600GS. My next upgrade will be Motherboard/CPU/RAM, and I will be sticking with the 7600gs! Sure, PCs are the "bleeding edge" of computer gaming. If I were filthy stinking rich, I would spend that TEN GRAND on a pewter JUST to play Crysis. I am not rich though, and it's a pirates life for me! YAR!Sushimaster
Do you own all 3 consoles? If you do, you can most certainly afford a gaming PC. And if you don't you are severly limiting yourself to a very small range of games.
Intel says consoles are weak and old
http://softwarecommunity.intel.com/videos/home.aspx?fn=1459
Intel said, that they don't want to move back (consoles), they move ahead (PC)
Intel bought Project Offset Dev's which makes it a PC exclusive and it will probably dethrone Crysis in graphics.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nvidia
As good as consoles are, they are so far behind the PC gaming experience that there is no comparison.
"In terms of raw processing power, the high-end PCs are at least three times more powerful."
Nvidia provides the graphics grunt for the PlayStation 3, while rival ATI provides the imaging hardware for the Xbox 360.
Mr Taylor points out that the latest graphics cards can draw twice as many pixels, twice the screen resolution, as a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.
The latest games are employing DirectX 10 tools developed by Microsoft, which are used by developers to get the best out of the high-end and middle-range graphics cards.
Mr Taylor said the new tools and the new hardware had given developers a library of effects to play with.
Nvidia's latest high-end graphics cards, the 8800 series, can easily produce graphical effects that tax the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, such as motion blur, depth of field and volumetric smoke.
Playing Crysis with the screen resolution set at 1920x1200 with all effects switched up to very high and anti-aliasing turned on, the game is breathtaking to look at and puts consoles titles like Gears of War and Call of Duty 4 into the shade.
Mr Taylor said: "Fog, smoke or mist in games until now have been flat and don't respond to objects. Volumetric effects mean they are dynamic - a helicopter can now displace cloud or smoke, or a character can step through the fog realistically."
The PC is finally back up where it belongs," said Mr Diemer.
He added: "The innovation is happening on the PC; but that's always been the case."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think there both right on the money, Gears of War maxed out 360 and MGS4 maxed out PS3 (576P) with downgrade, and the Wii is just an abomination,Mario Galaxy maxed out the Wii while still looking like a high end Xbox 1 game which is sad.

I don't really care what intel has to say. You FAIL to realise that intel does not make games but the processsors that run them. PC gaming is failing cause all of you fools spend WAY to much money to make a sweet rigg that is outdated in 3 months and then pirates software.
So of course intel would say they are going to continue developing for PC cause they make their money regardless of software sales. But until people stop pirating PC games, the platform will only continue to wither away.

As if intel only thinks about gamers, there biggest market is mainstream... people like you who goes on forums.
And don't get starting on pirating games... just look at Nintend DS.

How much more exactly? Games still sell ****LOADS on PC (Crysis sold WELL over 1 million) It shouldn't matter what damn platform they make it on, They should base the whole game on PC, and then put that on consoles, but of course they would have to massively downgrade it. They should still make it for PC first. I don't think PC gamers should get the short end of the stick just because of crappy super restricted consoles. It never made any sence to me how rockstar made SA on PS2 first and just ported that crappy looking game to the much more powerful platforms.

I have no doubt that Crysis has come close to paying for its self. Crytek did not expect it to sell nearly as well as it has according to what I've heard. They were going to make back the money spent for the development by selling the engine I'm sure.
