I've had my IPAD 2 just over a week and bought over 30 games for it thus far, such as Infinity Blade, Dungeon Hunter 1 & 2, Hero of Sparta 1 & 2, Real Racing 2, NOVA 1 & 2 and many more phenomenal titles, there are some with graphics that are average, then are those with such graphics that it seems as if your holding a portable 360 or PS3 in your hands.

I love the touch screen and gyroscopic controls, and there completely changeable and adjustable in almost every title, and no matter which game i was playing it has yet to freeze or crash on me, it is phenomenal, and it's already made me regret wasting my money all these years on consoles and other portables....i love my IPAD 2.

The 3DS ? the 3DS doesn't have half the hardware the IPAD 2 has, and i'd much rather pay between $1.99 and $9.99 for games than $39.99 for 3DS games.

iPad 2's graphics suck compared to any decent laptop

and iPad 2's games are mostly horribly shallow and made with petite production values compared to games you can get on a laptop.

Thus laptop > iPad 2 as far as "best portable goes"

It's obvious that the 3DS is also getting better quality games.

rotflol 30 cell phone games i already can get on an android sorry but that doesnt make ipad a good portable at all !

all i see is it just slapping a new name on the piece of hardwarre

3ds has already set sale records , and will continue to do so ,

ipad is aimed at a different market then 3ds , , period next compairsion you make with this and the 3ds- you better be careful because 3ds has exclusive aaa titles , coming out we all know this , ,

we aint born yesterday in fact 3ds is the only real gamers handheld , the psp and ngp ipad and all the others are multimedia devices ,which mostly wil be used for other things thats a fact , but at least ngp is better then a ipad and cost 200 less to

Oh really the 3DS is the only gamers hand held, is that why you can take pictures with it, and do instant messaging and short videos....please the 3DS is another Nintendo gimmick that will sell only because of its DS name and it's 3d gimmick. Not for superior hardware or superior games.

Games can't be a subject this early for the 3DS's life.

Just take a good look at the PS3 for a good example for that.

The 3DS can't do Instant Messaging yet because there's really no Internet interactions until the update in May (don't know why).

The 3DS CAN do Short Videos, it's even rumored that the 3DS may even run Youtube when the Browser comes up.

and That 3D gimmick actually works if you've seen it.

Yeah you have an IPAD not an IPAD 2, huge hardware difference between the two, which is why i purposely waited, instead of buying an IPAD, i knew Apple would release a more powerful successor in roughly a years time. Oh and by the way, answer me this, if you can play Music and DVD's and Blu-ray movies on your consoles why can't you play games on an IPAD, they all claim to be multimedia devices so why not ?

I only play little games like angry birds and card games, though gaming is one of the least things I do on it, by I love my iPad. I use it for the internet and as a tutoring tool for my daughter. I have the original and it is one of the best pieces of electronics I've bought in a long time. Seeing as I use my desktop for all my productivity and processor intensive software, my iPad has rendered my laptop completely obsolete. I'm writing this on it as we speak actually. The fact is I think it was worth every penny.

To be fair its one product from manufactures although i doubt even tablets as a whole are outselling laptops as a whole and there's the fact that how many of these purchases are being overlapped how many people have laptop and are buying a tablet in addition to there laptop not as a replacement but merely a supplement same with smartphones. Where not living in a post pc world where merely living in a world where the is no longer the only device we use for are media and productivity needs the personal computer/laptop isn't going anywhere.

Tablets (and iPad is 85% of that market) sell less than 10% of what laptops do. Even single PC manufacturers (the biggest ones like HP or Dell) usually sell more of their laptops than Apple sells iPads

No i would agree! I wouldnt use my IPad as a primary means of gaming but what i do use it for it works great! I gave my laptop to my mom and purchased a desktop becuase i ca take my IPAd everywhere and use it for whats needed at the time.

And there are some really light laptops like this one for $565ways only 3.09 lbs a slight bit bit more then the netbook i have and around the same size which but has alot more power core i3 and 8 hours of battery life. The netbook i have is very light if you problems carrying something like that then I feel sorry for you.

Yep. Nowadays this is the ultimate convertible tablet choice:

Small (12 inches screen), but full sized Keyboard (and the best one in the laptop market by far), 15 hours of battery life (up to 22 if you buy additional battery pack) and a screen that not only has multitouch, but also active Wacom digitizer, so you can actually write and draw on that thing comfortably (iPad screen is great for fingers, but it's pretty nprecise and sucks for doing anything besides manipulatng stuff with your fingers)

I don't recall EVER seeing people lined up for over a month in a row outside retail stores like Target, Best Buy, and Wal-Mart, for Laptops, or any other Tablet for that matter, but here we are nearly a month later, and the mere whisper that any of those stores or the Apple stores are getting in some IPAD 2's and people are lined up hours before opening to try and get there hands on one. Umm nope don't recall any PC device like a computer, tablet or otherwise getting that kind of attention...

Well if all you want to do is go online, then it's so quick, simple and compact, without having to squint like on a smartphone. Though I know most people won't pay $500+ for that.

Maybe because pc users don't follow the cult mentality Apple fans seems to have developed? Somehow they still buy volumes of their hardware that makes iPads look silly in comparision and yet there are no lines. I guess that's because they treat their computers like they should - as tools, not extensions of your own soul.

[QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]

[QUOTE="incuensuocha"] I only play little games like angry birds and card games, though gaming is one of the least things I do on it, by I love my iPad. The fact is I think it was worth every penny.incuensuocha

Although I dog on the iPad. I do think this is a very good thing the iPad can do because of how simple it is.

But if you don't have a Daughter or a Son or a Small Child eager for some learning then why bother with an iPad?

Well if all you want to do is go online, then it's so quick, simple and compact, without having to squint like on a smartphone. Though I know most people won't pay $500+ for that.

I have a 2.8" 640x360 screen on my phone and i don't need to squint to see it on modern smart phones with bigger screens and higher screen resolution it would only provide a better browsing experience the ipad 2 resolution is also pretty low consedering its size you have some phones including apples own iphone 4 that come pretty close.

Maybe because pc users don't follow the cult mentality Apple fans seems to have developed? Somehow they still buy volumes of their hardware that makes iPads look silly in comparision and yet there are no lines. I guess that's because they treat their computers like they should - as tools, not extensions of your own soul.

Uh no, sorry i hate to break it to you, but the reason is because PC devices are pure crap, they will never be as innovative, user friendly or reliable as Apple devices, and the sooner you realize that the happier you'll be.

LOL take what ? Ya' mean that heavy, bulky keyboard everyone is sick of lugging around, yeah ok...LOL

Slimmin360

As opposed to overpriced digital photo frame that is designed solely for digesting primitive medias and make you pay for stuff you get for free on other platforms? Yeah..so tired

And lol..heavy..what are you? 8 years old? Any grown man shouldn't have any problems carrying a laptop in his bag.

Apple has created a very loyal fanbase that will buy anything they make simply because it from apple. Combine that with a low supply vs the high demand you get that. The ipad still sells far less then laptops either way

dude if I wanted to waste $500 on something awesome I'd waste it on that nice Laptop that Adrian just showed, What IS that?

Thinkpad X220. Altough it's more like 1000$ or more depending on configuration. Worth it though, because you're essentially getting both laptop and tablet in one device and both of those in forms that are suited for even the most demanding professional work. I love this series because it essentialy provides everything I need in one form factor. I'm a journalist and the ability to first type (which is insanely good on Thinkpads, nothing comes close to them in this area) and then just flip the screen, pull off the pen and start editing (somehow human brain sees more errors and more clearly when put into paper-like format) is pure magic.

There are options without tablet screen that go below 1000 though.

Really? High end Thinkpads are more reliable than anything Apple makes, they have far better energonomy than Apple devices and they've also innovated more through history than Apple's laptop line.

It's been years since Apple has shown anything innovative really.

You get all giddy about iPad, when it's nothing but a slightly more refined clone of products that's been avaible for the last decade.

Years really, IPOD, IPHONE, IPAD, IMAC, OS-X, All of which the PC world has been trying to copy and keep up with since Apple released them.

Apple is worse than Nintendo when it comes to milking their products. The Ipad 2 can't even come close to the quality of games form 1st and 3rd party games for the 3DS, DS and PSP and that's a fact.

And yet nothing innopvative in either of those lines in the last decade or so.

Nowadays it's usually small companies that innovate, then Apple copies from them and makes the concept "hip" and then some pc companies copy from Apple.

That said, I'm a THinkpad user and Thinkpads haven't really copied stuff from Macs. in Fact they've been always anti-macbooks (not against Apple, they just have completdely opposite design philosophy).
