I had very bad experiences with STEAM, and their lack of customer service made it even worse....So hypothetically even if I preferred PC's to MACs which I don't, but if I did, the mere fact that the STEAM service is needed to play most PC games would be enough to keep me from ever buying a PC.

What bad experience with steam? And "MACs" still need steam to play a lot of games

Why do you say that about the goal posts?

PDA'S were interactive, multifunctional touch screen devices, that were called P.ersonal D.igital A.ssistants, and later it's more innovative successors were called tablets....and Apple perfected and got them to market first and most successfully.

Actually the first PDA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psion_Organiser, so no Apple didn't even create the first "tablet"

LOL, the IPAD a toy ? I guess you forgot the fact that not only was the IPAD the very first tablet in existence and also that the App Store has billion of apps and games, which far exceeds the amount of choices offered on the crap STEAM service.

I believe that goes to the Apple Newton, not the Ipad, still Apple though . The guy saying the there's a difference between a Newton and a modern tablet lol no, there's not. If it weren't for the Newton, the Ipad would not exist. The Newton got everyone buzzing about tablets , and everyone wanted to make one, and those morphed into the Tablets of today.

Interesting story about the Newton and how it came about.

I NEVER said that PDAs did not influence the development of tablets like you are saying, but I am saying they are NOT the same devices.

What you guys are saying is that a Nintendo DS can be classified as a tablet because it's "interactive" and has a touch screen and a stylus, and that just isn't true. It's not.

PDAs and tablets are NOT THE SAME THING.

Pagers and PDAs morphed into the cellphones of today, but is a pager a cellphone just because that's where it came from? NO.

So the wireless hand-held radio receiver used in WWII was actually a cellphone just because the word "cellphone" didn't exist yet? Yeah, sorry. Not the same device. They don't work the same way. Your example is terrible, too. People still call PCs computers. In fact, I do. I call Macintosh's computers too. Because that's what they are. They aren't different things.

There is a reason PDAs and tablets are classified differently by every source in existence. It's because they are different devices. They are not the same thing.

Really how exactly does your Surface runs circles around any IPAD?, right off the bat it"s got the infamous buggy O.S. of Windows, and even STEAM does not have the amount of games offered on the App Store.

My IPAD PRO-can do anything your Surface can do and do it better....watch any and all versus videos on YouTube comparing Surface Pro 4 and IPAD PRO, I'm sure the majority winner will be IPAD because of it's vast apps, solid build quality and flawless O.S.

Microsoft Surface 4 Pro can run full Android "Lollipop" X86 native with ARMv7 compatibility/OpenGL 2.0 ES** acceleration/touch screen support (e.g. AMIDuOS) and Windows 10 at the same time.

A user for Microsoft Surface 4 Pro has access to games offered from Google's Play Store via AMIDuOS.

**OpenGL 3.0 ES API bridge in development.

You said it right "instant satisfaction". I also play mobile games from time to time, simple pick-up-and-play games. But when I'm in the mood for actually gaming, like hours of gaming, then I'll play on either Pc or console and on a big screen.

They are the same device, you're trying to argue semantics . What you're saying equates to TV's and Phones and car's aren't the same basic idea just because they made changes to the design .

"So the wireless hand-held radio receiver used in WWII was actually a cellphone just because the word "cellphone" didn't exist yet? Yeah, sorry."

Oh wow. You'd better learn a bit more as yes, they are exactly the same device, the cell towers are nothing more then repeaters to connect short wave radio devices.

Going by your comment I'll simply dismiss you as either a Microsoft PC or console fanboy, or both.

Since you can't be speaking from experience of using an IPAD PRO otherwise if you did you would be one of the thousands that cram into the Apple stores and play around with them and then purchase them.

You're a bit off your rocker as well lol Apple stole the GUI from Xerox, that's a pretty well known fact , and Bill Gates saw what IBM did not with DOS and built an empire . People just love to hate success, it's what are society teaches, Socialist ideas have been bread into our culture for years unfortunately .

Actually you are further off your rocker, Xerox c.e.o.'s instructed execs to show apple founders the g.u.i. And if they were interested then they were to sell it to them, which they did.

Oh but let's not forget how Microsoft first conned the guy who invented d.o.s. out of his o.s. by telling him they were just going to mess with it and they gave him $50,000 and called it their own when passing it off to IBM.....So Microsoft is just as guilty if not more, because then bill gates saw the g.u.i. On the yet to be released Macintosh, conned Steve jobs into giving him a prototype, then pirated the o.s. Off the computer, turned it upside down and called it Windows and putting it on NEC computers months before the Macintosh was released to the marketplace.....thus stealing one of the biggest fortunes in history.

Microsofts track record remains in tact, they create NOTHING, they steal and copy, and it was mostly from Apple that they stole and copied from.

I suppose it was mere coincidence that just a couple years after Apple introduced their all in one computer back in 97 (imac) that PC manufactures were trying to copy it.

Let's also not forget Apple was the first to use USB and FireWire ports, soon to be copied again by PC manufacturers, shall we move on to the iPod and iTunes, and then bring up the embarrassing failure of microsofts zune, like it or not Apple pioneered all things hardware and software.....if you doubt most of these facts, go watch the movie, Pirates of Silicon Valley , it's all there.

LOL. Apple's WIMP(Windows, Icons, Mouse and Pointer) was from Xerox. Apple sued Microsoft on "look and feel" GUI and Microsoft reference their "look and feel" GUI from AmigaOS (AmigaDOS/Workbench) and Apple lost the legal case.

AmigaOS patent is currently owned by ACER.

Both AmigaOS/Workbench 2.0's and Windows 95's first level icons are placed on left hand side.

With keyboards, Windows logo key are mapped to Amiga logo key.

For patent purposes, AmigaOS kept alive with the latest being AmigaOS 4.1 release.

For Apple's MacOS/Finder reference

I adore Steve Jobs and the Woz, and Bill and Steve were best of freinds, they grew up in the same neighborhood and went to the same school for god sakes. I'm betting your books that you probably didn't read don't tell you that.

What Apple does well is take risks and adopt new technologies, not invent them (except Firewire). Much of the tablet tech were already in use with the Microsoft tablet PCs, aka touchscreen-enabled Windows laptops with unique folding hinges. Apple condensed the concept into something thinner, smaller, and truly more portable which became the iPad.

A lot of capable companies such as ASUS and Samsung have the means to innovate much like Apple. But, what they lack is taking risks. ASUS tried to with the netbook which is to make a laptop as smallest as possible but, remain practical. For a while, it looked like netbooks were dead because of the tablets Apple helped spawn. But, they're making a comeback after many people realized a built-in keyboard is still essential.

Yeah the white washing of history , or trying, but their are those of us who remember the real story , and apple ripped off Xerox. So here is Steve himself saying he took the idea from Parc/Xerox, and the second video is from a Parc Engineer retelling about Steve's visit with Parc/Xerox.Also Gates and Jobs worked together on projects because they were bloody friends , and so was the Woz.

Lol I won't be ignorant and say tablets won't surpass consoles but I don't care about graphics. If mobile games still suck I will happily play my low spec console.

I hope in 2-3 years time that 128gb would be the lowest for built in storage.

That Afterpulse looks good.

I feel as if these tech stuff would still progress if just one company had not existed. Maybe slower but feels like natural progression would still take place: device homogenization/miniturization.

If you find phone/tablet games as fun as console / PC games, then.. good for you. I'd call that a terrible taste in games, personally.

@ktseymour:

I didn't white wash anything, Apple got the G.U.I. from Xerox in a business deal, Bill Gates told Steve Jobs he wanted a prototype of the new Macintosh computer with new G.U.I. to make software for it, when instead all he did was steal the G.U.I. off the system turned it upside down and called it Windows, then he licensed it to Japanese PC manufactures and then IBM.

So again Steve Jobs acquired it through a legitimate business deal with Xerox, and Microsoft STOLE it from Apple.

I don't say this much, but you're ignorant. It's obvious to everyone you're some delusional fanyboy with a motive about Apple.

Changed the response as being mean is not in my nature

There is a bunch of reasons why tablet gaming never will take over the console/PC market. The first problem is the hardware, they would have to go a generation back because the processor and especially the GPU is so slow, and that is because of the size of a tablet. Most developers are probably puking just of the idea of making AAA titles on that hardware. Making a tablet that could last a console generation for the same money is pretty much impossible.

Fun wise speaking is not even close. A good pc/console game offers way more fun than nearly everything on mobile. Sure you get an occasional decent game every now and then but most of them are 5 minutes fix to play on the bus or something

Graphics wise still not even close. Sure the gap is closing but there is still a huge gap. Just play a game on a 40" tv and see how it looks. It looks like a ps3/xbox game at best which is still impressive considering those devices consume at most 5-6W

Just look at graphics benchmarks like gfxbench. A 4 year old 7850 which resembles what consoles have renders manhattan test at 130fps vs 55fps on ipad pro. And that on a benchmark that focuses on mobile devices and doesnt take into account rendering techniques used in pc/console space

Or look at 3d mark. 7850 scores 140000 ipad pro 30000

Not even close

In 1981, Microsoft has ex-Xerox employees instead. Read http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,1868557,00.asp

I'm looking into a Pro for drawing. Intensive games on tablets or laptop is unappealing.

You're better off getting a Surface Pro 4 as the iPad Pro has no real drawing apps. So you can keep drawing your fantasy of Ichigo making love to Grimmjow....

@FireEmblem_Man: It's you again. I swear the two of us would get along great in real life.

But it does have real drawing apps. I don't feel comfortable taking advice from someone so biased.

It would be perfect.

You should see what Marth, and Link do on their free time. ^•3•^

I don't even want to think about that.....

I'm just saying, if you're an artist, graphic designer, or an allegator, the SP4 is a much better productivity machine. The iPad Pro is more of a toy and only as best as a companion device and doesn't even have Manga Studio Pro which is the best illustrator app to have.

Also, you can draw all the Tweek x Craig images all you want!

@FireEmblem_Man: You can argue that it has some limitations, but brushing it off as a toy is very Ted Cruz like. Have you tried it?

Lets just say the flute isn't the only thing link knows how to play.

Ps what's with the cartoon? You keep bringing it up.

Damn you're so stubborn..... It is a toy and it's not that fake American like Ted Cruz! Really you have not watched South Park? A gay man that hasn't watched South Park is a mortal sin!
