i don't care if they have a hundred reasons.Did you sport the same mentality when Steam came out, and took away your ability to sell, trade, rent, lend, and borrow games, and in addition requires an online activation? That was incredibly "anti-consumer" in comparison to everything else at the time of launch.
I know I thought that, but once Steam showed me that going all-digital brought about an amazing amount of convenience, and accessibility to gaming I was hooked.
Now Microsoft is attempting to bring that digital model to the consoles, yet still retain the ability to trade and borrow games. There's no doubt in mind that this could make gaming even more accessible than it has ever been ever despite that 24 hr check-in.
When steam came up(or started to get relevance),you already couldn´t do all those things with PC games for a long time,aside from a few exceptions,and even now you can still do so with tons of non steam retail games,even though it was and still is against the law,technically.
The PC market and the console market are very different from each other.
