Is Nintendo looking out for hardcore gamers?

its sad because i was at work today and this old lady was like i love the Wii and i asked her what games and she just was like the bowling game and just general games...... nintendo really has made a Tiger product this time.

The Wii, or better known as Gamecube Version 1.6, is not created for HC gamers.

You dont get it... the other two are not in direct competition with Nintendo... that was mentioned several time from both camps, and that 360 core is closer and closer to the wii prices....

I've never liked Nintendo, but you ask me, they're the same now as they were before, it's the same old Nintendo. They saw a pontentially successful strategy and they took it, now it's repaying them big time.

And the casual thing, that's so stigmatized here, it's always been the gaming companies wet dream to catch the casuals, they don't need to catch the hardcore or long-time fans that they already have in their palms, companies have banished because they've failed to drag casuals to their side.

When the Playstation won by such great margin is when the casual term first came into full place, mainly to diminish it's success, and now it will be so for the Wii, but the casuals have always, alwaysgiven companies the win in every single generation.

Its not the fact that Nintendo dosent have hardcore games, they do........somewhere

but they fail to promote these games, for example I could have sworn someone say Metroid Prime 3was coming in like 3 weeks I was like no way and guess what....IT IS, yet I havent seen any real advertisment or promotions about the game from Nintendo but I have for WiiFit and all those casual games.(shows where the target market is)

Also, People mention Fire Emblem in these threads butI havent herd any news on that gameeither, In fact the only time I saw evidance of that game was in a Wii game montage at E3 06' after that.....nothing

So there may be hardcore games out there but I fail to see any publicity for them, instead the publicity goes to WiiSports,WiiFit,Mario Party 8, Mario Strikers Charge and all those other casual games

And whatever happened to 3rd party support, I havefailed to see some decent3rd party games for the Wii, just ports and Wii-makes. :(

I failed to see anything that appeals to me as a gamer so if I were to get a Wii(which so far I dont see a reason to get one) it would only be a side system :( and most likely Id use it for VC gaming

Actually you are wrong. Mario, Metroid, and Zelda have always had their own distinct gameplay that has set them apart from everything else. Ratchet and Clank is a platformer yet is no where near the same as Mario. Resistance is a FPS yes yet the gameplay differs so greatly from Metroid.

All of the great games have their own distinct gameplay and style that makes them unqiue. Games that completely rip off anothers gameplay usually fail.

Nintendo hasen't come up with a new original series for along time. They just keep falling back to their big ones (Mario, Metroid, Zelda). How long are they going to keep this up? I mean the most hyped games for the Wii are MP3, SSMB, SMG. That is it. Where are the rest of the amazing 1st party titles? Simple answer is they don't have any.
