Yea course online cheating is a bad thing. The main thing that should be a priority in online gaming is fairness, honesty and consideration for other players.siLVURcrossI think what matters is that most people playing have a good time and sometimes even when you play fair you don't get that.

If they don't have a good time playing fairly, then either they find a game where they do have a good time playing fairly, or they shouldn't play at all.

I don't know about that. When I get online to play I don't play for other people I play for me and for me to have a good time whether other people do or don't is irrelevant. If someone does cheat I think they mainly do it as a way to get more enjoyment out of the game than what they currently are by playing fairly. And I definitely don't think online cheaters should be banned when playing fairly is completely unfair to such competition coming from bad matchmaking.I think what matters is that most people playing have a good time and sometimes even when you play fair you don't get that.[QUOTE="Sonwhy"][QUOTE="siLVURcross"]Yea course online cheating is a bad thing. I play for me and for me to have a good time whether other people do or don't is irrelevant. You're the reason why teamwork can never ever work in any game. Say you go to a movie theater, and a group of kids find the movie boring, but you are quite enjoying it so the kids start to be disruptive and ruin your enjoyment of the movie so they can have a good time....how is that fair to you? Online cheating works the same way, its wrong and ruins others enjoyment of a game.

Yup. I remember playing PSO on gamecube and I remember how everyone was cheating so I did it to. After a year of playing the game the servers were basically empty. Cheating ruins the game for other people causing them to quit the game. I then vowed to never cheat in a game again because what's the point of cheating if in the end you have no one to play against? I REALLY hate it when people cheat in MMO type games.Yeah. It's pretty bad. It ruins the experience for everyone else.

Exactly right. Honestly, OP... this is just common sense stuff here. Cheating online isn't right, and shouldn't be allowed, and all cheaters should be banned for life from any online service when caught. How about I go to a museum, find myself bored, and decide to spray paint several priceless paintings. Then I can just say "man I was just trying to have some fun, sheesh, lighten up guys".

Well, once or twice in a game, could ruin the whole game. For example, in CoD 3, theres a glitch on Eder Dam, where you can get to the top of the map, inside a house, and see everyone on the battlefied. Now tell me that doesnt ruin the game. Cheaters ruin video games.
Ugh, people like this guy are why I keep saying that the number one worst thing about online gaming... is online gamers.

I think most gamers don't game for others. Most game for themselves. Yes that is true most game to enjoy themself. Most people play fair and can still enjoy themselves, but some immature gamers like you cheat and ruin everyone else's experience for thier own fun. There is nothing that is stopping you from finding another seat during that movie and if the movie is packed I'm sure someone will say something to them or the kids will get kicked out by someone that works their.Sonwhy
You just argued against your own logic. :)
Their is nothing stopping cheaters from finding another game to play, and if they don't, I'm sure someone will say something to them or they will get kicked out (banned) by someone who works for the service.

What would YOU do if those kids started running around the theater and you were the only one in there? What would YOU do, not "someone" else. Would YOU leave, ask someone that works there to kick those kids out or just sit there while those kids run around, throw food and yell.[QUOTE="ViewtifulScott"]I think most gamers don't game for others. Yes they do, but most gamers have the basic maturity and common sense needed to not get enjoyment from games by ruining the game for other people. Seriously, you've managed to accomplish absolutely nothing in this thread so far except to reinforce and highlight the overtly negative image of cheaters.
Cheaters should be banned from PSN/XBLA whatever. Accounts banned/terminated and if its on PC CD keys as well. Not only this your game should be deactivated from online usage at all like how Blizzard does.
Cheating is stupid. That's why its called cheating. People like that shouldn't even have the right to play the game and yes the box's and instructions do say that as cheating is altering the game.
I have no sympthathy for anyone who seeks an unfair advantage or just can't handle losing. Quite frankly its why I detest baseball as of late.

You sound like a cheater trying to justify it. There is no justification. Cheating = bad. This applies to any competition. Sports, games, beauty pageants, taxes, adultery, etc.
Due to steroids don't be so absurd. Baseball is still the same game that its always been. Rather when it comes to baseball you should be complaining more about salary caps in order to make baseball fair where every team is paying their team the same amount of money per season that would make the game much more fair rather than elimination of steroids.Cheaters should be banned from PSN/XBLA whatever. If someone can't handle competition, then they shouldn't be playing online games. Period. People who excel at the games naturally should not need to hold back and dumb down their own play styIe for some whiny brat who is too insecure to deal with sucking at the game. These online games are completely optional, no one is forced to play them. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Some snot nosed little brat being beaten in an online game and not having the guts or will to get better at the game does not have a right to turn to cheating, because he does NOT have a right to win. Winning is fun, and the better player wins. Either people can deal with it, or stay offline.

If you were a lawyer, and this was a court case you were arguing, you'd be laughed out of the court, because you failed miserably.

yes, yes, YES Shad! this is the very reason why most people cheat. they think :" well...i suck at this game... *goes to internet to find any hacks/cheats/mods" YAY i don't suck anymore!! *insert cheat here* makes this the best game ever!!...."

I doubt that there are much worse lawyers out there trying to argue their points than me but then again everyone has their own opinion. At least I've mentioned some points that seem logical on why cheaters would cheat online after my own playing experiences. Please Log In to post.
