Anybody serious about recording in game videos will use fraps. IMO there is no room for a all in one app on the PC. No service is going to out perform a combination of apps that do one thing and one thing well.^^
You forgot about the upcoming built-in video recorder for Steam.

Secondly, you have to buy fraps to remove the watermark. This will come with Steam, free.^^

I don't I'm guessing that a program made solely to capture in game video will do a better job than a program meant to do many things.^^

Guess i'm just use to the old school unix philosophy: "do one thing, and do it well".^^

[QUOTE="khanabyss25"]This. Aside from the deals, it's debatable between Steam and XBL which is better.i love steam deals, but the program itself, not so much.
Karnage108
Uh uh. XBL cost's $59.99. Please tell me you are joking. Do you have ANY IDEA how many games we could buy for $59.99?
Take away the sales, and Steam isnt special, so it is not the best gaming service..it is not really a gaming service, it is a store you go to buy games from you still need Steam so it knows you arent using a illegal copy

It is a gaming service and the great deals it has and it's biggest collections of games is just icing on the cake. If it's not a gaming service then I wouldn't be able to instantly chat with my Steam friends while online in games.

It has very basic features outside of selling though.steam isn't much of a service, more of a store, i guess with the friends list and cloud is a minimal servicesavagetwinkieI love how the console players downplay it and don't call it a service, even though it provides more features than Live and PSN.

It has very basic features outside of selling though. Basic features? It does something PSN doesn't even do yet, party chat. It also has a screenshot function, soon a video function, better voice communication than Xbox Live(which you pay for), A steam cloud service(which allows some games to save your game and settings online and locally), automatic patch updating, etc. How is any of that basic features? The consoles don't even have cloud servers.Steam is the worst service for 1 reason, I cant buy jack crap from it. It wont let me add my credit card details...really pissing me off. And no, its not my card or my bank, I just bought sum stuff from Ebay and Amazon with it and had zero problems. Its steam.II_Seraphim_IIPSN is the wrost service for one 1 reason. I can't buy jack crap from it, it won't let me add my credit card details. And this is true too, see how it works both ways?

"Planning on adding" video, yes like I said, a few years late to the party as usual, but then im not suprized since it took them years to update the horrid look of the interface to something more tolerable, even that is quite bland. Steaming live action for video games is nothing minor either. Xfire does have game purchasing.... and the itnergrated chat isnt the best agreed, neither is Steams. still has the feature though doesnt it? Why would I want console stats? im a gamer. why can I have a full blown profile on Steam? considering they are pushing STEAMPLAY aswell why not? brings them more business.[QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"] Basic features? Yes, the screenshots are uploaded to your online account and anyone can view them. Not sure about commenting, but im pretty sure you can.
The integrated chat is so much better than Xfire. Works instantly with no problems. Easy to add non-steam games to it and the community is better built into it.
I like steam for the deals. When its near a big holiday theres always bound to have some craziness going on.
