Xfire > steam. i5750at4Ghz

I use to think that but xfire really cuts down my fps when enabled:( Lets not forget the upcoming record video support and screenshot support basically made xfire obsolete for me

You forgot about the upcoming built-in video recorder for Steam.

Anybody serious about recording in game videos will use fraps. IMO there is no room for a all in one app on the PC. No service is going to out perform a combination of apps that do one thing and one thing well.

How would you know what's better? It's not even out yet. Secondly, you have to buy fraps to remove the watermark. This will come with Steam, free.

I dont see why there shouldnt be. Im honestly tired of having tons of programs that only serve one purpose.

How would you know what's better? It's not even out yet.

I don't I'm guessing that a program made solely to capture in game video will do a better job than a program meant to do many things.

To each there own. I much rather have single programs. Guess i'm just use to the old school unix philosophy: "do one thing, and do it well".

Take away the sales, and Steam isnt special, so it is not the best gaming service..it is not really a gaming service, it is a store you go to buy games from you still need Steam so it knows you arent using a illegal copy

Take away the sales, and Steam isnt special, so it is not the best gaming service..it is not really a gaming service, it is a store you go to buy games from you still need Steam so it knows you arent using a illegal copy

It is a gaming service and the great deals it has and it's biggest collections of games is just icing on the cake. If it's not a gaming service then I wouldn't be able to instantly chat with my Steam friends while online in games.

steam isn't much of a service, more of a store, i guess with the friends list and cloud is a minimal servicesavagetwinkie

I love how the console players downplay it and don't call it a service, even though it provides more features than Live and PSN. :lol:

It also has a screenshot function, soon a video function, better voice communication than Xbox Live(which you pay for), A steam cloud service(which allows some games to save your game and settings online and locally), automatic patch updating, etc. How is any of that basic features? The consoles don't even have cloud servers.

Yes, the screenshots are uploaded to your online account and anyone can view them. Not sure about commenting, but im pretty sure you can.

The integrated chat is so much better than Xfire. Works instantly with no problems. Easy to add non-steam games to it and the community is better built into it.

Yeah Steam beats the others hands down. Nowhere else are you going to find the kind of library like what is on Steam. The sales are out of this world. Ive gotten a bunch of titles for under $10 like Batman Arkham Asylum, the BF2 collection, the Burnout Paradise collection, Mirror's Edge, Supreme Commander 2...you just cant find better than that.
