Is the PS4 being overhyped?

Not really.

We're not at Cell level hype and the system seems pretty nice, for what it is.

Eh just the cows, you know. Think their minds finally gave up and they all ended up certifiable insane. Most people on here with just a few marbles left will agree on the following:

We know very little of the PS4 yet. We know little about real use capabilities and not just theoretical specs.

The PS4 hardware is NOT the be all end all, especially not like some people on here try to make it out to.

The PS4 IS likely the best cost performance option Sony could make, as in it is a REALLY good pairing of hardware. I would argue that it might be the best put together console ever.

It will still not be reaching the sky in terms of performance, since there are PCs that would outperform it even at launch.

It does not matter that PCs might overperform it, given that it is a console, and thus a different audience, or rather a differnet role, since most aperrently have a PC AND consoles.

The reveal gave alot of hope for the PS4 alot of the right things were said. Good to see Sony getting their heads out there backsides. Good to see an interrest in consumers.

Well its quite simply the Playstation 4 is revolutionary in all aspects. Xbox 720 is not, end of discussion.

This board has been a real head scratcher the past couple months. Last console generation Sony fanboys mocked Xbox fanboys because of subscription fees but now I am reading posts about how "The PS4 subscription fees will be worth it". Last generation multiplats didn't matter but now "The PS4 will have the best multiplats." And when PC fanboys would throw out the PS3's low ram or Xbox fanboys would brag about their GPU specs didn't matter. But now we all have to hear about that 8gb of GDDR5 in every thread. Sony fanboys need to be careful this coming generation. The PS4 looks great so far but I think you need to chill on the hype a little. The hype on this forum is reaching the PS4>Jesus levels. What is not to hype Sony always had the games now they have everything else. Seems like it will be the best console by far. The only worry is the price as long as it is under 500 count me in.

Oh and did i mention exclusives :P we know about Shadow Fall but Guerrilla Games has been working on another PS4 game for a long while now. Shadow Fall has a 3 year development time, their new IP for PS4 has even longer.... :o

Not saying that MS will choose to use it but MS does have a lot of disposable moeny tho throw around.  

I just wouldn't be so quick to come to conclusions about what MS will have based on reports.  Sony has a surprise with PS4...the same could happen with MS.
