[QUOTE="LittleHands134"][QUOTE="kingtito"][QUOTE="LittleHands134"] Honestly, I don't understand why people bring up sales here. Shouldn't system wars be about the system themselves and not how many buy them? It's like forming arguments based on the bandwagon mentality.
When it comes down to it, yes, Wii has better sales. This is because it appeals to a much wider audience. Do you really think your mother is going to pick up a 360 so she can play Gears of War 2? No, of course not. But she might pick up a Wii because she can play fun little games with Wii sports or games like that.
When your console appeals to people who aren't even gamers, of course you're going to sell well. But in any legitimate gaming argument, Wii owners know that their games don't even compare. And that's why Wii doesn't seem relevant here.

Wouldn't that be more subjective than fact? Isn't it just an opinion when it comes to which games are better? We're not talking graphics here but the actual games.
The fact remains when the PS2 doninated last gen all you heard about were sales. Now that it's in 3rd, looking to stay that way, it's all about games????? When it comes to which console is winning, won or going to win it all comes down to sales. That's how it's always been, can't change that now just because the PS3/360 isn't winning.
Of course you heard about sales back then, it makes sense to compare two consoles on sales when they're very similar. Even though I would prefer to compare systems by their quality, sales in that way is perfectly fine. What you can't do though, is compare sales of a console that targets a completely different audience to consoles that target a more traditional hardcore audience. You still see PS3 and 360 being compared by sales and no one complains about this because it makes sense, but you can't toss Wii in here when the majority of the people who purchased Wii don't have an interest in non-casual consoles.
Have you wondered why almost every single Wii commercial shows a family playing casuals games together? Real gamers are not their main concern any more, they're secondary to the new audience.
So because YOU don't like or think the Wii games are any good, you automatically exclude it from the console race? The Wii targets gamers just the same as the 360/PS3. The difference is they also target non gamers. You don't like or agree with it that's fine but the fact still remains it's just as relevant as any of the other consoles, especially when it comes to system wars.
I never said it has anything to do with my how I see Wii. It's basic sales, you don't compare things that target different audiences and expect a serious answer.
It's like I made a game and a friend of mine made a game. I made my game to be interesting for younger audiences and non-gamers, he made his game for hardcore audiences.
I can't go up to him and say, "Haha, Dave. Looks like my game that was bought by completely different types of people sold many more copies than yours. It's fair to say my game was far superior."
It doesn't work like that, fair sales comparisons always have to show that the products targeted the same audiences or it's irrelevant. I'd bet you that if you took out each Wii purchase done by non-gaming people, and just looked at the actual Wii gamers, the sales would be far lower than the PS3 or 360.
