[QUOTE="jhcho2"]And don't you think that the relevance of the Wii in system wars depend pretty much on whether owners of ps3 and 360 think it is relevant? I am an owner of both the ps3 and 360. And personally, I don't care much about the Wii or whether it outsells ps3 and 360 because the Wii doesn't give me what i want. I think this way, and there are many others if not most who think this way. So that means the Wii fans are practically self proclaiming the Wii to be relevent to the console wars despite majority of the people in System Wars not giving a rat's a** about the Wii.

In reality what a bunch of 360/PS3 owners think doesn't really matter because a) a fair amount of them own a wii as a secondary console :P and b) the wii is a gaming console which waging war on the 360/PS3 so it should naturally have a place in System Wars regardless of its graphics power.
If you wage a war against someone who doesn't consider you a threat, you are nothing. It's that simple. A war is only a war when both parties are threatened by each other.

Fine. Ignore the wii, call it irrelevant etc it won't stop Nintendo from destroying Sony and Microsoft but whatever floats your boat...
It almost is because there is not enough Nintendo fans left to defend it. When A thread is made ageist the Wii it is almost pointless because only like three or four people defend it the rest agree with it.

Yea well why would wii owners stick around system wars when they haven't had anything to gloat about in like 3 months

As a Wii owner, I have to say this is quite true[QUOTE="WillieBeamish"][QUOTE="mushroom_kid"]The Wii is irrelelvant, because it has already won and the only thing left to fight for is 2nd place.
PC gamer here btw, dont own any consoles
surrealnumber5
What has the Wii won? They sell more copies of Windows than Wii's so why aren't Hermits bragging about that? Because they know that it would be like comparing an F-22 Raptor to a Cessna. They might both have a few vague similarities, but making any useful comparisons is pretty much impossible.
windows is not a gamelast gen it was all about sales and exclusives now those dont matter because of the wii
what is with all of these wacked out comparisons
the wii is like a game console with functioning motion control
the ps3 is like a game console with broken motion controls and a bluray player
the 360 is a classic game console that pushes nothing new and has longevity issues
sorry but the PC will always have the most and best games including best versions of multiplats
if you have a pc or ps3 or 360 you dont need any of the other just one, but if you dont have a wii you miss out on a lot of great games
PC/WII FTW
The man makes some good points
[QUOTE="WillieBeamish"]For me, the Wii isn't a game console, its a toy.
killerfist
using that logic the 360 and Ps3 are also toys.
It's a game console, it plays games
It counts
But it's too casual to be considered a console. I think thats what he was getting at.
Honestly, I don't understand why people bring up sales here. Shouldn't system wars be about the system themselves and not how many buy them? It's like forming arguments based on the bandwagon mentality.
When it comes down to it, yes, Wii has better sales. This is because it appeals to a much wider audience. Do you really think your mother is going to pick up a 360 so she can play Gears of War 2? No, of course not. But she might pick up a Wii because she can play fun little games with Wii sports or games like that.
When your console appeals to people who aren't even gamers, of course you're going to sell well. But in any legitimate gaming argument, Wii owners know that their games don't even compare. And that's why Wii doesn't seem relevant here.
LittleHands134
The sales are VERY important, as they generally determine the devs' focus in terms of consoles to develop for. The more of one console in people's home over the other(s), the more likely a dev will be able to make money since their potential audience is bigger than the other consoles, so the more likely a dev will shift focus over to that console.
And for that last comment, Super Mario Galaxy compared pretty well. Well enough to win GOTY from Gamespot when compared to all the "legitimate" games it went up against.
Look at all the Wii hate/ love threads that are generated all over the internets
the Wii is relevent and you know it
farnham
..especially when it generates that strong of a reaction from both directions.

And the PS3 does your taxes!
...please, all three consoles are toys.
Technically they aren't. You play with toys. But with consoles you don't play with them, you play them. You're not playing with your console unless you're having sex with it. It'll be awhile before I get that image burned out of my memory.

Yeah whatever, don't try to spin it, toys for the big boys.
[QUOTE="I_pWnzz_YoU"]I agree. I've never actually seen the Wii fit into the System Wars. It's all about the PS3vsX360.Tylendal
Or maybe it doesn't fit for the same reason that the PC doesn't. Everyone knows its won, and there's no point arguing. :P
Yeah, are the fanboys getting desperate or something:lol: " It doesn't belong here cuz it doesn't have no true competition anymore!!1 " Christ!

Except for the fact that the people clearly are arguing. :P
Still, I have a Wii. I have Endless Ocean, which IMO is the best game of the gen.
I have a large library of games, which, IMO are very entertaining.
Even if I had bought the only Wii ever sold, the above are enough for it to have already won, IMO.
wii cant be compared with or compared to its just that simple wii is aimed at both markets, not just one
360 and ps3 on the other hand are , ,
so those are good comparision makers,
wii isnt, its totally different , controls alone speak for itself,
once you add all the games, (n64 snes nes tg16 gc wii sms sega genesis and neo geo up) your already getting your money worth when buying a wii ,
wii may not see many of the same titles 360 does, which is a good thing actually,
quantum of solace though , is better on wii bc of split screen play,
