Is there any real or substantial reason to buy an X1 console?

Is there any real or substantial meat to this thread?

Lots of consumers wouldn't buy the console anyways, especially if you move outside of North America but almost every gamer would buy the game on PC if available. I couldn't imagine having access to Bloodborn, BOTW and Super Mario Odyssey, I would buy them and so would a ton of other PC players, but lots of us won't buy the console so Nintendo/Sony is losing out on that cash anyways, their systems won't be bought by a large fraction of PC gamers but the games would sell like hotcakes. Lots of PC players have no reason to buy consoles, 20 combined triple A games I want over a generation isn't worth buying 3 consoles at a combined cost of around $1500 dollars and that is just for the consoles and than I have to buy the games on top of it. That is a major upgrade to a PC that will last longer and not all of those triple A games will be purely exclusive to those consoles.

Xbox one X + game pass

One X delivers great power for its price.

People often compare gpu sole price versus full system (board. cpu. gpu ram hdd. water cooler vapor chamber. psu. uhd drive. wifi bluetooth controllers and game included)

all for 500€.

So its kida stupid when pc gamers come and say ah but 1060 6gb cost 350€ only while one x cost 500€. Full system with nice extras like 4k drive and wifi and water cooler but also brings controller and AAA game included and some gold time which means some few games to download.

One x is nice for its price and here is a reason to buy it. is good performance per dollar.

Want more reasons? game pass much cheaper than buying games. cross play with pc (pc in main room while one x on living room for cross play). 4k hdr player Ive used it on my 4k hdr tv and both image and sound are way better than 4k netflix. like a whole new level.

It's a fun system I like to play games on.

For me it's got the best MLB app on any system, More crossplay games with pc, my friend has one also and he doesn't have a decent pc so we game on xbox.

I have been a pc technician and network admistrator by trade, and a console is still more convenient, it's not because you or me are adept enough with a pc that everyone else is. If you are that smart how could you have missed that ...

and who cares what you want or what you find important. Your preferences don't mean anything in system wars. It's not because of your preferences that the xbox doesn't have any advantages compared to the other systems.

People couldn't care less you can wait for rdr or monster hunter, some people want to play it now, or want to play controller vs controller. Some prefer the centralization of xbox live other the decentralization of the pc platform.

A pc is no console, and it never will be. It's no substitute for xbox, it's the reason why the xbox became so popular. Everyone knows it's the pc dude console.

If you have friends you want to play online with that are on xbone, you have to get an xbone to play with them. That’s really the only reason that makes sense at this point.

For me it's well because I'm poor, and getting a new PC too expensive right now and I refuse to settle for any prebuilds under 1000. For others perhaps they are invested in Xbox for a long time and grew up with it. It's not bad console and Japanese support is growing I think.

Actually a PC is everything a console is and more.

I'll say this about every technician, just because you work in the field or have a degree doesn't mean you are good at your job or an authority on the topic.

@jereb31: I think he simply meant that stuff that is simple and easy for you is not necessarily for others and a lot of people don't want to learn everything there is to buy a quality PC, since you have to spend more and still do some research.

A console is way more convenient, you buy it at a cheap price, put some wires, follow instructions on screen and voila, it's working, I mean, you can get the console working in less than 5 minutes, for a PC you have to learn to mount the CPU, easy I know, but it takes a little more time and patience.

Consoles are way more convenient than PC and a lot of people do not care about having better graphics or performance, they're happy with OG ps4/x1.

Building a PC vs buying a console is certainly in favour of a console.

Running a game on a PC vs running a game on console is no real difference. The convenience argument runs thin on merit the more you dive into it.

It's easier to buy a console and play a game on console that it is on PC.

On PC you have to buy the parts, build it, buy os, install os, update os, install all the drivers from the hardware to work, update the GPU driver, install steam, update steam, download game, install game.

On console, at least on ps4. You turn the PS4 on, it downloads and installs the latest OS, the game is ready to play in under 5s, if it needs. to be updated, it'll download and install the minute you insert the disc.

Consoles are way more convenient and absurdly cheaper than PC.

While I agree it is quicker to set up on console than it is on Pc, the ps4 and xbox have to install the games and for a AAA title like far cry 5 for example it still takes a good 3 hours at least from disc. there is no way you can just turn on and play these days.

Consoles success is not entirely at the expense of PC convenience. Granted it is easy to just plug a console into a wall and tv then go. But you can do the exact same thing for a PC, you never had to put one together if you didn't want to, buying a pre-built has always remained an option if you want to spend the money. Which means the only other step you have to do is install steam. All drivers and updates have been automated for close to a decade.

Consoles are no more convenient than PC, and can be cheaper than PC. But a console, 9/10's, offers a lesser experience to a PC version of a game.

The main reason for Xbox One's existence is due to US's high resistance to gaming PCs.

Without Xbox One, that 48 percent would be all Japanese.

As long I continue to fix my relative's PCs for free, Xbox is fine.

System maintenance on Xbox One is Microsoft's responsibility while Window PC's system maintenance is end user's responsibility.

I have one of my old-timer relative toasted His Windows PC with fake PC cleaner tool that wiped out the network stack and killed "Reset PC" function. Guess who gets called up to fix it? I'm tempted to push Him towards MacOS so He can stop bugging me. My other relatives has MacOS + iOS+ PS4 combo and I rarely get involve with maintaining their machines..

The author asked why anyone would get an Xbox over a ps4 when all the Xbox exclusives are on pc ( Which is in itself a stupid point because those exclusives are not on PS4 ) so HE bought pc into it, not me.

I simply replied that not everyone has a pc. You "debunked" what I said by saying there are more high end pcs out there than x1x's... Lol.... About as relevant as the price of coffee in Brazil to this debate.

@recloud: Well, I don't play games on a PC, so the fact that XBX games are on a PC means nothing to me. A far as console games go, I like the ones on XB better. That's not to say PS4 games "suck", far from it. It's just that if I had to make a choice, I'd take the XB1 library over the PS4's, because that is my preference.

Also, saying "why by an XB1 if I can get a PS4 AND a gaming PC" is kinda silly - you are saying your need 2 systems to beat a single XB.

@StormyJoe: actually, no, I'm saying a ps4 is enough if you want most good games and PC is enough if you care about power.

Still, the convenience is still higher on console, because there's no need for research and digging for prices. On PC you have to know what you're buying.
