Is this the worst year in gaming so far?

Not really but one of the most boring for sure.

The year was mediocre, some late releases saved it from disaster. There were quite a few really poor games though.

It might well be the worst gaming year in a while, but thankfully it's not so bad compared to the last few years. I give it about 6/10

Well, I always find plenty to play every year, and just started on Dragon Age: Inquisition, Shadow of Mordor, and The Evil Within on the PS4 last weekend. Looking forward to getting back to them when I get home after Christmas.

lol, it seems the PS4/Xone exclusives so far have been flops and most of the games are re-releases.

TC is right. The only thing this gen is doing right is moving hardware.

2012 was the worst IMO.

Though I could see how 2014 would clinch it if you owned an Xbone.

I think the first year of gaming was probably the worst, as there was only one game.

On the other hand, it was probably the best year since you had this new and exiting thing: a video game.

Yeah not surprising a cow finds 2014 to be the worst. Not even third party devs could save the pitiful PS4 lineup.

Funny, the PS3 had nothing of worth in 2012 as well.

Nope. Dragon age inquisition, smash bros wii u, bayonetta 2 made it a fantastic year. Coupled with that I had lots of fun with underrated titles ff: Lightning returns, darken guard 3, alien isolation, tales of xillia 2

And shadow of mirror, forza horizon 2 and the campaigns of halo: mcc were also good. Ultimately I remember 2006 being a drag, oblivion and gears is the only thing I can remember from that year

And again, dragon age inquisition is the game of the year, bioware crushed the doubters, delivered a huge game with minimal bugs. So far I'm 135 hours in and I haven't played a sp game this much since skyrim. Dragons are epic battles in this game.

Nope. The worst years in gaming were most likely the industry crashes of 1977 and 1983-1984.

If going back to 1998 is "gaming so far" then I don't know what to say. After the crash in the 1980's there were some dark times and bad years that in comparison make this year a gold mine.
