If you really pre-judge a game based on it's ESRB rating, then 35 years hasn't taught you muchÂ

Im just saying, you should recognise that there's more to a game than how much violence is involved. There's alot of quality games you could be missing out on by dismissing them as cutesy kids gamesAfter I turned 12 I ceased to care about Nintendo, I like playing games that aren't designed for little kids.

[QUOTE="L0mak"]So the fact that WiiU's sales are **** is, according to you, a good thing for nintendo? Nice logic you got there princess. Had impressive first month sales, even if it had no games. Still not selling that bad considering it doesn't even have good games yet[QUOTE="MonsieurX"] No arguments left...let's use sales!MonsieurX
It does have good games, but Nintendoland hasn't turned out to be the big system-seller that Wii Sports was for the Wii.

People keep saying this and I think all you need new glasses. Tell me, what game on the xbox 360 had these quality of visuals at this LARGE OF SCALE. The only games of scale would be Skyrim and Fallout, and neither look nearly as good as Project X, let alone the draw distance of Project X from the video are much greater than those games. No game on the 360/PS3 has pulled of this level of detail plus that large scale of a map. Personally I haven't seen to many on the 360 even look that good on small levels and if they did it has no AA and is sub HD. If Monolith can do this with that large scale of a game, then image what a smaller game would look like. Imagine what Retro Studio's could do if they put metroid on it.

Well, people want good games for a new system of course, but it's also about whether or not the actual system impresses people in one way or another.

Not a hard concept to grasp
Only die hard Nintendo fans would pay $150 more for a Wii U over a PS3 or 360. The Wii U is nothing more than a crappier version of a PS3/360 with a tablet controller and 99% fewer games.Â

I cant wait for all these next gen systems to come out, watch all these studios lose money, studios go bankrupt because the public expect every game to be 5 times more graphical, more AI, more effects, grander worlds. That all costs an arm and a leg on current consoles, how much money and time are developers willing to chuck into a single game?

The person I was replying to didnt see to. At least one ofthe new consoles will be out by Nov. After the PS 4 and Next Box unveiling no one is gonna care about Project x except for the dwindling number of Nintendo fanboys.Meh even at $50 off I wouldn't buy one. In fact I wouldn't buy one for $50.Rattlesnake_8
You're crazy.
Even if the console only ends up getting 5 games that you really like (and it's very safe to say that it'll get more than that in its lifetime), surely that's worth the $50 cost of admission.
Witcher 2 and Metro 2033 have much better graphics than Call of Duty yet the budget of those two games combined are probably not even half of Black Ops 2 budget. BO2 has money spent on a large team pumping out a yearly release, that and the biggest advertising campain in gaming. What would had happened if TW2 or Metro were flops?? Its a fact that the more graphics, bigger game world etc, the bigger the production, the bigger the costs, what happens if that game doesnt do too well? Thats alot of money and time down the drain. All you guys are asking for these magnificent masterpieces, some will pull it off yes, but others wont and it will really really hurt them.

Just look at all the studios that dont exist anymore, or had to merge to stay alive.
Nintendo just announced they had recorded a loss for the 2nd year in a row and their projections for the Wii U dropped from 5.5 million at the end of March to 4 million. That means IF they hit their 4 million mark projection, they will have only sold 200K more of their original shipment. Ouch.

You dont seem to get the point. Black Ops is made by Treyarch, Modern Warfare is made by IW. Black Ops 2 went into development in 2010. I dont have the exact numbers for BO 2 but MW 2 dev budget was $40-50 million. Dev budget doest include marketing. The Witcher 2 budget was $8 million. add that to 32 GB and you get 96 GB. (72 if you have an 8gb)

If the quality of the graphics increases the cost so much then why is Shenmue one of the highest budget games of all time? Why did Halo 3 have a higher budget than Crysis? Theirs so many other factors involved than just graphics quality. Cutscenes, voice acting, music, scripting. Look at the GTA 4 mods. GTA 4 had bad graphics even for 2007 yet modders in their spare time transformed it into a game that looked like it was from the future.Nintendo in 2012 gave us a console that produces the same visuals as a 2006 console... To be fair no self respecting gamer would game just on a 360 or PS3 either.

...Shenmue was pretty damn advanced for its time. Halo 3, at the time, was new tech. That costed, but obviously most went to marketing. Crysis was an exclusive on PC, so costs were naturally much lower. Sony has spent a great deal of money for the engines that power the God of War games and whatever Naughty Dog has crafted. That stuff is NOT cheap.
GTA4 modded is only good for screenshots. It has many flaws, not to mention still runs like sh!t for nearly everyone.
