This is flawed logic. Have we not learned yet that sales matter? Has the past not taught us that? As a Sega fanboy, I said for 2 years sales don't matter only great games. As great games for the DC came out(i.e. Shenmue, MvC2, Project Justice, 2k sports games, etc.) the fanboys in system wars kept saying how "DC SUXORS and that's why it's last." I continued to decry them. we all know how that ended. Now, I'm not a fanboy of any of the current crop. But, because of sales, third parties abandoned Nintendo in the PS1 era and Sega eventually pulled the plug on the DC. So, remember, sales do matter friend. ESPECIALLY if you want to continue seeing great games. To wit, why is the PS2 still having games made for it? Because of it's great technology and exciting features? It's cutting edge motion controls or online video store? Or because it's still selling?I could care less if PS3 sells less than the competition. All I care about is the games and this year it has a better line-up than the others imo.

As far as system wars goes we go by either sales or games. And in both catagories PS3 is in dead last place. Why is it people forget this?

They do matter but not to me because they don't ruin my enjoyment of the great games available for the system.
also, PS3 is not the Dreamcast. No one is gonna be "pulling the plug" on it anytime soon, in fact it's quite the opposite.
[QUOTE="GreyFoXX4"] Funny that Rockstar had no issues talking about it being exclusive to the ps3 and why its good to release on 1 format :) .hy4kyeah, funny that. i'm sure no 360 developer did the same before making their game multiplat you dont need a blu rayer for the 360, you can already watch HD movies. All without the pitfalls of longer load times and 4gb forced installs. it costs a little too much if you want a games machine. and even then it has nothing to offer beyond a handful of exclusives (mostly inferior shooters), a ps1 pad, load times, a poor online service where no-one has voice chat and inferior versions of 360 games i dont see a huge amount of exclusives for the PS3. i see 2 so far this year, and a handful for the rest of the year. it's 400 dollar failbox PSN also has hd movies for rent :) Load times are basically equal between the 2 even for the ones without a hdd install. Poor online service lmao, and no voice chat ingames? YOU DO NOT HAVE A PS3 HUH, I'll keep you in my prayers. And inferior versions of 360 games, you talking about the slight difference in some games, but yet over looking BurnOut Paradise city, SC4, COD4 and others. Not to mention that the pc has a huge difference over the 360 but yet doesn't ruin your experience on the 360 does it? And you don't see a huge amount of exclusives for the ps3? I'll also pray that you get your eye sight back aswell :) And the 2 you do see is more than you've seen on the 360 so far this year. LIke I said if FM3 gets AAA that will be the first in 11 months. And really Failbox? I think I would call 30% failure rate of the 360 to be the failbox, you really need a new word for the ps3, really you do. Its hard not to associate the xbox and failbox together.
the ps3 is 7 million behind the 360, thats a worldwide figure, not just in NA, so yeah it's losing in sales, games though are a different matter, what the ps3 lacks in PC/360 multiplats, it more than makes up for inn exclusives, which in my mind are better than the 360's exclusives have been, as far as i am concerned the 360 hasn't had a really good exclusive since HALO 3, i found gears 2 boring, fable 2 wasn't even a touch on fable and too human, well need i say more.Sales in the US maybe. Comparing worldwide sales, PS3 isn't too far off.
Plus, when you talk about games, PS3 has already caught up with 360 in quality exclusives, plus they're the only ones that released quality exclusives so far this year :|

Real options is like going to Newegg and ordering a 500 gb hdd for the ps3 for like $85. Chosing between Seagate or western digital or samsung or toshiba hdd's, thats real options. And also these are options that support out side sources and not getting milked. Also I think that would mean you still payed about $260 for your 360, you really didn't save a whole lot, when figuring you could have bought a lemon of a hdd.[QUOTE="nmaharg"][QUOTE="GreyFoXX4"] Well first I wouldn't be like you and bought a stripped down xbox to play only 3/4 of what is on the disk. What ifs aren't something to base an argument on. My hdd wasn't a lemon. $260 vs $400 to play games that look and play almost completely the same. I choose $260 every time. I want to say it was worth it, but the PS3 at that price wasn't close to worth it. In fact the 360 wasn't even worth it. All I really need this gen is a PC. your whole point is made useless by the fact that the 360 elite with a 120 gb hdd is still cheaper than the cheapest ps3, with the elite you get everything you get with a ps3 (except blu ray drive) including a headset and HDMI cable, for less, so you don't really have a point. even if i buy it seperately over here, its still cheaper than a ps3 xbox 360 arcade=149.99 xbox 360 120gb HDD=97.99 xbox 360 headset=14.99 total= 262,97 playstation 3 40gb=293.99[QUOTE="GreyFoXX4"]Well first I wouldn't be like you and bought a stripped down xbox to play only 3/4 of what is on the disk. We can do this all day, hardware feature to feature the ps3 smokes the 360, and thats why the ps3 isn't over priced but actually underpriced and loses money for each console sold. While the 360 has nearly made money since its release with old hardware, and is over priced for not having the bang for the buck on the hardware side of things. yeah, i mean personally i won't bother with a wi-fi adapter, but i know people who do i did have a plug and play charge kit, but i went back too batteries cos the rechargeable battery packs are useless (after 6 months it only held 5 hrs charge) and they make the controller too heavy, i refuse to pay for xbox live cos in my mind it's a rip off when everyone else is getting it for nothing, i don't care how good XBL is, MS are making 70 bucks on every console they sell, they need to play the game and drop the XBL gold fee, i can agree that in the long run the 360 is more expensive than the ps3 if you are into online gaming, the only reason i don't have a ps3 is i can't afford one and i can't get on with the dual shock, but i hear there is an adaptor to use 360 controllers on ps3 so i only have 1 reason left.your whole point is made useless by the fact that the 360 elite with a 120 gb hdd is still cheaper than the cheapest ps3, with the elite you get everything you get with a ps3 (except blu ray drive) including a headset and HDMI cable, for less, so you don't really have a point. even if i buy it seperately over here, its still cheaper than a ps3 xbox 360 arcade=149.99 xbox 360 120gb HDD=97.99 xbox 360 headset=14.99 total= 262,97 playstation 3 40gb=293.99[QUOTE="delta3074"][QUOTE="GreyFoXX4"] Well first I wouldn't be like you and bought a stripped down xbox to play only 3/4 of what is on the disk. you see that's the point i am trying to make, which one is cheaper is based purely on what we want from a games machine, the 360 is cheaper for me cos i just want to play games offline, i am not interested in playing online, and i have a 20gb hdd to install the game i am currently playing, i have a browser on my PC, and i'm not interested in blu-ray cos i don't mind films on DVD and i don't have and cannot afford a hi-def tele, you see the ps3 as more value because you want all that and you obviously don't want to pay more in the long run, neither of us is right or wrong, it's all about personal preference:lol: So much humor in you, TC. Great jokes, great jokes. Yeah, PS3 isn't hitting the kids and the grandparent's like the Wii. So sad. I really wish my PS3 had worse graphics, sound, and online play so they could sell it to more casuals. And if you want to claim some weak ownage of the 360 over the PS3, you must be forgetting about that year lead and the ability to get the unreliable hardware to a lower price point sooner. On games, yeah, if you look at the raw numbers on paper, 360 has more games. Neat. A lot of those 2006 titles are sure relevant today. But even if your joke was true, its built on a house of straw. This year's lineup is an indication that MS is more focused on getting some slight edge on multiplats than providing FULL exclusive experiences. And we all know how the PS3 will do once the price drops. And we all know who has a proven track record for long support of their consoles. As far as system wars goes we go by either sales or games. Once again, you have to remember, sofware sales, software attachment rates, hardware sales and gamestill being playedno longer count. Game scores are the only thing that matters. Afterall, the fact that people are still enjoying and playing the 360 games more then the PS3 games means nothing, just the score of the PS3 game...
It's the undeserving loser of this generation, we all know XBOX360 should be in joint last place. All microsoft know to do is copy.

Yes because both Nintendo and Microsoft both own time machines and go to the past and put in ideas 1st to make it look like Sony is just copying. They are last and deserve it...

Pffft. What is the 360 if not a wannabe dreamcast? It even copied the Skittles buttons.[QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]That spreadsheet proves the PS3 has more A,AA,AAA and AAAA games overall than the Wii, as I said.nmahargNo it doesn't. Add up the A's. Wii has more. There's 99 A,AA and AAA games for the Wii compared to 151 A,AA,AAA and AAAA games for the PS3.

Bear in mind that when the 360 was as old as the PS3 is now it was like 4 million behind what the PS3 has. Just remember that the next time your feeling cocky about 360 sales.[QUOTE="nmaharg"][QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]That spreadsheet proves the PS3 has more A,AA,AAA and AAAA games overall than the Wii, as I said.Floppy_JimNo it doesn't. From the year wait before coming out the PS3 is catching up to the Xbox. The last update the Ps3 almost sold just as many consoles at the 360 (With wii still in the lead, but slowly dying down.)
I think with in this year by the end the Ps3 will have caught up. it has tons of great games coming out for it.
As far as system wars goes we go by either sales or games. And in both catagories PS3 is in dead last place. Why is it people forget this?
 So much humor in you, TC. My facts > Your opinion. Again I didn't make the rules, I just follow them. FACT - By SW logic PS3 is last not only in sales, but games as well. I gave you facts. Wii is selling because it has the most widespread, casual appeal. Just like the PS2 did. FACT. The majority of 360's sales lead over the PS3 is due the year lead. And then the otehr portion is due to 360 being able to get to a lower price point sooner, which also has to do with the year lead. FACT. 360 has more games. But there is a TON of shovelware on that list. Not to mention, the strongest 360 years were the first couple. Games that are now 2 year old or older. You wanna tell me the early 360 titles didn't have an easier time getting better scores with no other competition? You wanna tell me how the 360 stacks up on titles for 2009 compared to the PS3? And, YOU ARE MAKING THE RULES. "Look at this list of games but ignore their age, when they were reviewed, their score, etc." "Look at these sales numbers but ignore when systems were released, ignore the price, and ignore whose buying them." "Just look at the numbers and forget about the context or the quality."it is unrealistic to think the ps3 will catch up in hardware sales by the end of the years, the gap is still 7 million, there is no way the ps3 can sell 7 million more than the 360 by the end of this year or the next. From the year wait before coming out the PS3 is catching up to the Xbox. [QUOTE="Disturbed123"]I'm not bashing the PS3 at all. I'm simply pointing out the cold hard facts. Whether you agree or not is up to you. I still own my PS3.Ummm no, it certainly getting some amazing AAA games and AA games, which is enough to keep me happy for PS3. You people make it sound like Ps3 is like a Gizmondo :|
nmaharg
Oh... Really? I have a link here to a post that states you sold your PS3 two days ago. How on earth did you get it back?
Honestly, it's quite strange really, you constantly bash the PS3, and then you sell something you apparently own, then you bash it again, and claim you still own one...
Think you should just give up while you're ahead.
Just sold mine :(. It does have great games, but imo no way is it worth the $400 price tag.nmaharg said on June 11
