I don't post much since i move to the states, but to tell you the truth gaming has grown stale on me.

After 300 call of dutys, 500 years and 10 consoles GTA5, FF 600...

I just don't get exited as i use to...

In fact i just got a late 90s Trinitron for free almost new no scratches, and i am buying again old systems Nes,Snes,genesis, all until the first xbox.

Also moded an arcade machine with tons of old schools arcade games, just building a nice retro gaming room in my attic.

Then why is it that the large majority of people on SW (and i imagine this is the same for most actual core gamers) use it in the docked mode? This is a home console that can also be on the go, and no other way around.

So you're becoming boring??? I told you the PS5 is 42-43% weaker than the X, and it looks like i was right all along. No wonder you're now into the old stuff, you've finally realised how underpowered the PS5 was.

After reading tormentos post, he made me realized that SW isn't fun as it used to be and that's saying something. I'm almost hitting 40s, game forums aren't making things fun to read/post these days and SW is proof of it. I'm sure as hell not tired of playing games but coming to SW is getting stale on me and we lost so many good SW users.

@hardwenzen: Indeed he's being serious this time around. But his post made me realized I need to take a hiatus from SW alone. I'll go into hiatus very soon.

@davillain-: This place has been garbage for awhile now, surprised you've just noticed. Just the sheer amount of alts is destroying this place.

@hardwenzen: Many core gamers take it off dock mode and play it portably... like taking it to the bathroom, dining room or bathroom. You can't do that with a traditional home console. The Switch serves different functions. It's weak by home console standards, but fairly powerful by portable standards. It would make more sense to compare its price/performance ratio to portable devices rather than home consoles.

@tormentos: I kind of feel the same way. I'm just getting tired of modern gaming and going back to the retro stuff. I find retro gaming more interesting than modern gaming.

No the current state of gaming is what has bored me.

There is little innovation, most games feel like an extension of something already done to death.

The switch is also a so call hybrid console.

Even when it was Vita vs 3DS nintendo portable was greatly under power, because they rely on so call innovation as gimmick.

They simply fuse both markets after the fail of the 3ds sales vs the DS, and effectively are making the same thing they did on the portable market with the DS and 3DS but with the switch as well.

I would rather pay $350 for a switch with the same screen but much more powerful and more ram than just get a prettier screen with the same specs the investment on nintendos part is almost non here.

Yes i am having a blast, with some, the good thing is that i had like 30 N64 games from the 90s that were in my mom house, as well as some snes,genesis and nes games.

Playing them on a triniton which was on of the best TV out there back then sure make it even better.

Took you long enough to realize. Next gen is just a Mid gen 2.0. Besides, developers have been doing the same thing almost every gen. Bigger studios are not willing to take the risk with trying out new ideas. While I am not a fan of Sea of Thieves, I commend MS for keeping it afloat because it is a unique game that is now netting a substantial following.

@tormentos: CRT is the way to go for retro games! They look so much better on CRT than modern LCD/LED.

Nintendo doesnt make the same money xbox and sony make of game sales though. So they have to charge higher prices for hardware

@tormentos: You never bought the PS5, did you? All this shilling pre launch and the first months, and no PS5. Very disappointing to hear.

As long as the console has Nintendo first-party games on it, it is going to sell tons upon tons upon tons of units. That's what you guys fail to understand.

@davillain-: I remember being a teenager back around the early 2000's and coming here. It was awesome. I stopped being an active user until as of late. I don't even know why I came back. I'm surprised GS still even has these forums. I would mainly use FB groups for my gaming discussions, but I'm not a big of FB like I used to be so I've pared down the amount of groups I'm in. I think I've been enjoying coming back to SW for the nostalgia. I don't know, but I'm having fun. Thanks GS for having this still available and mods for putting up with it all!

This is a silly argument. No one can buy a PS5 right now, all out of stock, so it doesn't even matter. Also, I don't know why anyone would buy the regular switch for $50 less, the bigger screen, oled and better audio is well worth $50. I will be getting one when it comes out. Portability + first party nintendo games. When I'm setting in my mini van waiting to pick up my kids for 15 minutes or more, a switch is nice to have, or while my dog is in the vets office for a half hour, times like that.
