Bungie(Halo and ONI), Rare(Bunch of Games) and Lionhead studios("Black and White" and Fable)

Jaffe is not a great developer. Anybody could throw blood and gore into a button masher or make a driving game with silly characters.

Duke Nukem was funnier than hell in Duke Nukem 3D

 All Kratos is a cheap ripoff of Conan the Barbarian, Robert E. Howard poops all over Jaffe and Kratos.

He acts nothing like Conan? Conan was the kill everything dude before Kratoast

Check out the movie Helen of Troy where the dude kills his own child(One example of Greek mythological). There are so many "oh my god" stuff or "oh no he didn't!" stuff that has been written in the realm of Greek mythological.

 Kratos is a greek mythological mixed with the badassness of Conan the Barbarian.

Howard E Lee litterally created the whole Sword and Sorcery bit that led it's way to tons of other stuff. He was also known for Tarzan as well as Conan.

Don't act like Kratos was so "original"

As you can see I'm not comparing Kratos to MasterChief(since I'm currently a lemming cause the 360 is the best console and I liked the Xbox better than the Ps2) which I personally like better , especially after reading the Halo novels by Eric Nylund.

I am glad how jaffe called it how it is..GS need to put in its place..They been hating on the PS3 ever since it was launched.The only high scores review from here is the 360 games. They need to stop spreadin their legs for microsoft and enjoy all three system. I never said he was totally original(if you read David's blog he said Katos is based on GM)But to say he's a Conan Rip off is a disservice to Kratos.

To me,the GS's review was bogus.

It was like "WE EXPECT DA MONKEYZ TO POP OUT FROM TEH GAME AND START DANZING FOR TH0S3 10 DOLLAS!11!!1"

I think it's the second biggest behind IGN, purely in terms of readers, subscribers and people who log on etc, though I feel this is a much more credible site, but IGN has the money and bigger resources so they can usually get reviews, interviews etc first.

actually I like the guy, but I find myself almost always agreeing with GS reviews.

It's like (most of the time) GS reviewers have the exact same taste that I have in games.

If he were just getting angry about the review, I'd be annoyed with him. And nothing is really going to be accomplished by complaining about a review. But it was definitely a bit more measured and nuanced than that. It had more to do with how downloadable games are perceived than the specifics of the review or its writing or whatever. The stuff that Jaffe was talking about does play similarly into Dreams-Visions' earlier point about how games that aren't well-rounded tend to score poorly at GS. Because the game only offered a good multiplayer experience, and had little content overall (and on the singleplayer side espeically), it was penalized here, while at other sites, it was praised for achieving what it set out to do. That's more a difference in review philosophy than anything else.

In the end, it's his blog, and he can write what he wants to, because that's what blogs are for. Since he didn't sound either whiny or abnormally incensed, I don't think it's that big a deal.  

Gamespot is just pissed cause it's not one of their beloved Zelda games.some fan response at Jaffe's blog
