Journey PS4 Review - 10

It's like an interactive painting. Staring at Picasso for 8 hours sounds slightly less fun to me.

Seems to be, it's a bar that PC and xbox titles have failed to meet.

Seems the best place to play all that greatest games of the generation are, once again, only on Playstation and Nintendo systems. That bar hasn't changed for a long time, why should it this gen? Smart people already know, the rest...are posting like you lol.

The game needs to be fucking incredible to get a 10 not 'great' but it's Kevin so the game gets an extra 2 points on the score just because it's indie before he even starts.

It's a great game, (I'd give the PS3 version an 8), but that's about it.

Nice job Kevin. Troll system wars by giving PS fanboys a 10 on your way out the door. Geesh there will be no shutting them up for months about this. OMG the emotional journey in the most perfect game ever made. The sand really glistens when I walk across it for hours at a time doing pretty much nothing. Almost as exciting as being able to tilt our controllers and fly a flower petal across a meadow. Only possible on the uber powerful PS3 emulator...yada yada yada. Bravo Kevin.

If it was a troll by Kev he would have given Godzilla a 10 for the luz and an obvious troll on him leaving and something everyone in SW could have got a kick out of but with this, not so much.

In all seriousness, Journey is a really interesting game. I still see it as more of a neat little novelty than anything else.

This isn't exclusive. Also don't expect remake/remasters of recent games to be put into any GS/MC list.

It's just padding because of no BC.

Most of the people on this thread with raised eyebrows are PS4 owners (like me).

Arguably the rating it should have gotten in the first place.

I agree with Kevin, that game is just artistic master piece, I enjoyed the music, the gameplay, the scenery. Can understand though if not everyone feels the same.

That was my first thought when I read who did the review lol.

The premise for the 10 is pretty easy to explain really, it was a 9/10 on the PlayStation 3 and the increase in resolution and framerate afforded it another point.

Never played it on the 3, got it sitting on my 4 will probably play through it this weekend, still a little odd a remaster gets a 10

Though I suppose if I were a reviewer on the way out the door I'd do something extreme too. Either a 10/10 or a 1/10, no room for boring.

Yeah that's also true, maybe this was just a troll. I haven't played it yet so I can't speak about it really but from what I have read, heard and seen it's not a 10/10 game.

1/10 would have been legendary. Easy to pull off with this title too... 2 hours gameplay (lolz) which isn't actually gameplay (more lolz) and the amazing graphics everyone talks about are actually incredibly basic.

Missed opportunity IMO.

For me it wasn't....couldn't sit through it, really bored me and not pretty enough to keep me visually stimulated.

I own a PS3 and a PS4, never played Journey. Might be a good time to take my PS4 out of it's box and play it.

Yeah, a 1/10 would have been some great fun and easily justifiable if he wanted to be a dick. The only redeeming quality of Journey to me was the art. The graphics may have been nothing from a technical standpoint, but there are some scenes in that game that look brilliant.

Eh. To be fair, Kevin did just recently give TW3 a 10. He also gave MGS4 a 10 years ago. Maybe we can say that he overlooks notable flaws when handing out 10/10, but that's about it.

He also gave Bloodborne a 9/10.

Journey's a cool game, this thread focused way too much on a 10 and it's inherent "value".

To be fair, giving a 10 to a game that adds literally nothing over the last gen version besides a small resolution and framerate bump is pretty fucking lame. Then again, we're talking about a dude with a fucking Assassins Creed tattoo

Did he write the first Journey review? If he did, then I see your point, if he didn't then that argument has no merit.
