Geeze, that game gets better the more I see it. Forza 3 truly does have the best car models and racing environments.
[QUOTE="aaronmullan"]Geeze, that game gets worse the more I see it. So much for Forza having the best environments.PS3_3DO
Show me a sim racer that has better? yeah that's right there are none.

Well, this game was praised for its realisic environments. All I see is bland as hell environments and stunning looking cars. Have you been to a track? This is how I see the GT Vs Forza thing-
GT- Is like some model. She has always got by on her looks and never had to worry about anything else. In the end the model is all looks and no substance.
Forza -Is the nerdy girl in high school that grew into a hottie. She always had tons of brains and was not ugly but not a full blown hottie. Several years later though the zits are gone, the braces on her teeth are off and she has become a hottie, She still has all the brains just the looks to go with it.
GT looks great but same as Forza. Forza also looks great but same as GT Forza also can add to the list better customization, better A.I., better damage, better physics, better car trading and so on.
Geeze, that game gets worse the more I see it. So much for Forza having the best environments.aaronmullanHave you noticed that all of the race tracks are empty? No fans in the stands at all. At least GT5P has animated spectators at most tracks.

I don't think I've seen any other completely missing spectators in the stands either.[QUOTE="aaronmullan"]Geeze, that game gets worse the more I see it. Yes because most people that play racing games spend more time looking in the stands then actually watching the road. Oh wait, that's GT racing....
Yes. And sand does look like repeating textures, does it?[QUOTE="aaronmullan"]
[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"] Have you been to a track?Camer999
They could fix it by release, doesn't GT have repeating textures?
They have repeating textures but I've noticed in GT5P that sometimes they'll have foliage next to the track that moves when the cars go by or spectators that move or take pictures when the car is near.Have you noticed that all of the race tracks are empty? Yeah well maybe if you've ever watched a race you'd know PEOPLE go to the RACES to WATCH the event take place. Also, why would you make that comment in the first place? If we are just supposed to be watching the roads then who the heck cares about the environments? Are empty seats somehow more important than non-empty seats? Are distant mountains more important that thousands of camera flashes?[QUOTE="MizFitAwesome"][QUOTE="Jrfanfreak88"] Have you noticed that all of the race tracks are empty? Please.Cows were fine with no damage, so I'm pretty sure lems are fine with no dumb *** spectators that run around like dweebs if you touch the barricade (AKA: Prologue). Maybe they'd be worthy if they looked and acted realistic, but they have awful A.I.

I'm not worried about what's in the stands. BTW, if you try to look closely at the 'fans' in most sports games, they look like cardboard cutouts, so why would anyone really care about something so meaningless? You GT fans sure are the most insecure bunch...
Just for the record I have never been fine with no damage. All I'm saying is I find it silly that people brag about the environments and fail to see they are all deserted! Racing is the second biggest spectator sport (in terms of attendance) in the world so to me Le Mans looks awfully funny with nobody there watching the race.Cows were fine with no damage, so I'm pretty sure lems are fine with no dumb *** spectators that run around like dweebs if you touch the barricade (AKA: Prologue). But look at Prologue. They're silly.
Did Turn 10 say there were no spectators at all?
No my complaint is that Forza 3 is said to have the most realistic environments ever seen yet they are missing the most essential item that makes them seem more real. If fans weren't important why do we see them in every other sports game out there? The most intoxicating thing about being at a race are the spectators. Do you know what it is like to be in a race track full of 200,000 people, all standing, and cheering so loud that they are louder than the 43 800hp cars on the track? You and everyone else can care less about fans being in the game, but the fact is that in real life without fans the tracks, teams, drivers, and races do not exist. I'm not insecure at all about GT. It has NASCAR in it, what more could I possibly want?So obviously you areadmitting that GT fans are worried more aboutstyle over substance. When I play a racing sim, I race. They didn't say that BUT every picture and movie I have seen so far I have not been able to see people in the stands which is just weird. They are empty at the track shown at E3 and the one at Le Mans. Will the game have them? Maybe. But, from what I can tell it does not. Also, never said prologue's spectators were perfect, they are very 2007, but having people at the track, in my opinion, is important and I'd rather have them than not.Although GT5 will be better, Forza 3 is still going to own. Besides there two completely different experiences. I mean, why not play both. Right? It's getting ridiculous now these threads. How I see it, is that Forza 3 is a very realistic version of Need for speed. If i can say that. You'd be a complete fool to miss both GT5 and Forza 3.

I think it's pretty fair to assume Forza 3 will have them as well when the game ships.
Also, there's many pics of Forza 2 that show spectators all over the place and then some that show empty grandstands so just maybe Forza 3 will have them added in later OR with some racing games there are versions of the track that are empty for test/practice sessions and then a version of the track that is full of people for races.Did Turn 10 say there were no spectators at all?

I'm with Jrfanfreak88 on this one. Forza 3 may have some of the best graphics yet seen in a racing game, great physics, excellent car models, accurate sound, and the game is probably going to be fun to play... but I won't be buying this one since there aren't any people in the stands. I want my spectators gosh dangit!

In forza 2, during races, the stands were full, during free run, tuning, or hotlap, they were empty. They would even cheer at a close finishes sometimes. It depends on what you are doing. Suzuka must just be weird or something, That is the only bad looking track we've seen so far. Even then it's only that one texture. Tuskuba(right?) looks awesome, that mountian place looks awesome, I can't wait until we see a city track.
Well on the videos it says "start race" when he selects to begin a race. They aren't practicing or test driving I don't think?Guys. Anyone whos played forza 2, knows that there are only spectators during races, not during free run/test drive
Heck, I think gt5P is like that too.
Tobin09
Well "IF" I can get total and complete set-up control, tire deformation, real time telemetry, accurate and consistent physics...I could give a rats *** about the backgrounds and spectators...
Are we really at that level on backgrounds and spectators?.....Nevermind.. Clearly it is
Blahhh..I liked it before when this genre was "boring and not appealing to everyone"
Well then, let's take a look at a screenshot from GT5 shall we?
Uh oh, WHERE ARE THE SPECTAORS?!? *wets pants*
:pEpoq
GT5P has spectators at this track. Find me a picture or movie of Forza 3 gameplay that has fans and I'll give you a cookie ;)
[QUOTE="SpinoRaptor24"]No spectators? Not real.No spectators? Big deal.

Yeah because spectators are going to be a core aspect in Forza 3's gameplay.

Well, I think thats just one of those things, forza 2 is like that, I'm on suzukla, trying to recreate that crappy picture, and when I hit pause, it says finish race in the menu, even though I'm in test drive. Thats not a good indicator. That crappy suzuka texture for the gravel pits, the really noticalbe one, is also in forza 2, except in forza 2, I never noticed it until now.Haha dude someone has to make system wars fun tonight :P This is my payback to all you who didn't read my 4 paragraph post yesterday.Well "IF" I can get total and complete set-up control, tire deformation, real time telemetry, accurate and consistent physics...I could give a rats *** about the backgrounds and spectators...

They were! There was going to be a new mode in Forza 3 where you have to find your "fans in the stands". Basically you had to find 8 fans that are wearing your teams colors, much like that one Wii game where you have to find the lookalikes in a crowd! You recruit these fans to your pit crew but if you recruit one with the wrong colors then they will slow you down on pit stops! Unfortunately this idea was scrapped for some new fangled race rewind thing that we've already seen in a Grid. In my opinion this will hurt sales tremendously.Oh, and don't worry, once Forza III and GT5 get reviewed nobody will care about them anymore and we'll get scoffed at for liking racing games haha. Actually, probably for liking motorsports in general :(Well "IF" I can get total and complete set-up control, tire deformation, real time telemetry, accurate and consistent physics...I could give a rats *** about the backgrounds and spectators...
