Yeah, the vibrations from the controller really help push the immersion further.

Sort of but it wasnt one of those fights in which you can die so it didnt feel as important as a fight in which you will die if you fail.
Yeah, I can only imagine how stressful those will be.

^That's new gameplay footage (skip to 4:40 for what I'm talking about), probably has been missed by everyone. But Ethan Mars appears to be the character I will care the most for based off his premise and that video alone. That moment with his son where he says "It wasn't your fault." is heartbreaking for a parent (not so much to others).
Infact, I think if Ethan happens to die in my playthrough, I might just restart the whole campaign.
I finally played it and i loved it. it was everything i expected but my only gripe is the walking controls. i dont remember indigo prophecy controls being like this. i dont see why you cant walk freely with the analog stick.johnusabeis
Most likely because of the button prompts. There are times when you need to use the left analog stick solely for actions like opening a cabinet, so that would be abit unwiedly. For me, the controls came natural after just five minutes. And judging from reviews I've read, the experience is mutual.

This game is going to be ****ing amazing.

Controls are bad, gameplay just seriously lacks. Presentation is the only thing it has going for it, but it doesn't save it from being just an interactive movie. themyth01

You know when a game asks for specific inputs to drive its actions, it's pretty dull. As an interactive movie it may be ok, but to have a game be a long QTE just shows lack of innovation in the part of developers. QTEs have been with us a long time and there's a reason why it's not used as much in games nowadays. If you disagree, then that's fine but I haven't seen you point out exactly what makes the game so great or how my points are null in any way.
Controls are bad, gameplay just seriously lacks. Why Are people bagging on this game???
Its a Damn Adventure/drama/crime game
a point and click type game, Why do people act like theyre so underwhelmed or the game is horrible, when they already know that the gameplay is based off of QTE , If a game is good at what it does give it credit.
I sure you guys didnt bag on Myst when it came out....
These kids weren't born when Myst came out. :PWhy Are people bagging on this game???

I havent been keeping up with this game but i have one quetion. Does this game have bosses? or is every enemy you encounter like a boss?
yea, theres an alien race that is trying to take over the planet. Its up to a drug addict and a old, almost retired cop to save the planet.. theres bazookas and rail guns... buy itI havent been keeping up with this game but i have one quetion. haha, yeah sort of.
I also sort of messed up the phrasing of that question. Are there large figures that you work towards, eventually taking them down in a climatic battle of sort?

I dont know, this game has a story which is tightly under wraps i couldnt say, this obviously isnt a typical game with big epic gunfights like most games, im sure there will be climactic scenes even scenes with guns but i imagine it will be QTEs and cutscenes. but the thing about this game is, i dont know if you can really just call the QTEs that, from what i had seen in an earlier demo of the game there were times when you had mutliple defferent choices when QTEs came up. Say you were being chased by someone who had a knife and you were trying to run away, you could choose which way to run and there would be numerous options for you to try to escape. I thought it made the game look quite intense and heart pounding, i would say the game is filed with moments like that.
the game looks intresting enough, but i won't risk 60$ on this one, i shall wait for the reviews, may be even longer, i still have around 3 games from 2009 i wanna get.
why dont you just download the demo eh? i guess i will do that asap.I agree 100% with you. Day one buy for me too. The story seems to be very good.Cool, thanks for the input. I am working on downloading the demo right now.
I cannot wait for this game to come out. It also seems that I am not alone in this thinking.
I could care less if it's an interactive movie, QTE-fest, etc...It looks fantastic, nonetheless, and I will own it on DAY ONE, no doubt.
danjammer69
Question- How often do QTEs appear? And if you fail them, is it game over?
SpinoRaptor24
QTEs are the majority of the game and failing them doesn't mean game over with the instances they gave us. QTE failure probably means death with the more dangerous encounters of the game though.
Did I just saw Episode_Eve post on the first page?
Man its awesome to hear these positive remarks. Unfortunately I can't try it because my trey is broken. Should be back by the time the game releases!Episode_Eve
...yup, I did.
Yeah I just tried the demo and it's a bit spoiling cuz you know you're wanting for more.
There are two things which bother me.
