reminds me of the old sierra point and click adventures like gabriel knight which excites me. I wish that genre never left. Looks like games are growing up finally again.

[QUOTE="sikanderahmed"]Then you wouldn't have game, would you. The entire game is like a big interactive cut-scene. I agree.....i have see the demo on youTube and the game is like CGI QTE movie,it is not a game.......far too soft for a movie, and very boring for a video game.can you skip scenes in this interactive movie?

Yeah, I spent three hours last night downloading this thing. =P
It took me about 30-40 min... and my internet connection isn't especially fast... :?The demo did crash on me during the Jayden part though. Not sure if that's happened to anyone else.

Took me about 20-30 minutes to download. I must have played through the demo 6 times, and I have yet to have the game glitch on me.[QUOTE="Racer_XLR"]

You don't understand. I'm on a "peasant-like" connection. . . yours is probably god-like compared to mine.
I think it can be played in mutiple languages, i've only tried english though.[QUOTE="hardyz100"]
is this demo in dutch
zarshack
Yeah, it has an inclusion of both French and Dutch I believe. Commendable effort on the developer's part for making the lip sync consistent with each language.
I played it here a few hours ago and was not blown away by it, but thought some aspects of it were really good. The graphics are great and the story seems like it could possibly hold my interest. However, that is where a big negative comes into play. I absolutely abhor the gameplay.
Walking feels incredibly wonky, especially turning around. While I feel the controls for movement is bad, having to go through a QTE or single button press for even the most mundane of tasks is really the deal breaker for me. Such as a QTE merely to slide by a dumpster. I mean, really? Or how about mashing the right analog stick in the direction of corresponding pockets in order to find an inhaler during an asthma attack? Things like this just fail to pull me in personally. To be quite honest, I found it rather annoying and quite boring.
Besides the gameplay, there was actually one other thing that bothered me. During the segment with FBI agent Jayden, the magic glasses absolutely destroys any sense of realism or investigating a real crime scene. I mean why include something like that when you want to try and pull the player into a realistic setting? They could have simply left it up to you to discover the right clues and evidence without including that. Talk about out of place.
In summary, I really want to like this game, but I really have no desire to play it because of the gameplay. I just find it to be boring and quite monotonous. I may try it out at some point, but it is definitely not a day one for me. However, I do think the game is going to do very well, but it is still going to be a very polarizing game overall in my opinion.

Dev is european right? Probably explains it.
I wasn't entrhalled with the demo, but I could see myself getting really attached to the story and case as the game progresses. Not a huge fan of the point and click gameplay honestly. I thought the button commands were tedious, but that's just me. Also thought the voice acting wasn't very good. Especially the chick in the motel. I think I still might get it though for the thrill of the story and trying to solve the case.

I kind of agree with you there. They made a lot of things wonky just for the sake of making it wonky. Why not just give the gamer complete control? That said I love the idea of this game and we need more like it. I just don't see why they don't make it more traditional ie just giving you the ability to walk around talk to people investigate certain things. It seems to me like they could meld the action adventure genre and just add more puzzle type and invesigative stuff fairly easily. I love puzzle solving, but its like they didnt need to go the QTE route and make the walking and investigating so silly. I do like the idea of playing different characters and trying to solve the mystery and the story plays out differently depending on what you do with each, but they could have made it open world as well. That's kind of what i thought alan wake was going to be but seems like they streamlined it and made it more action oriented.
Is the demo out on PSN or do I have to pre-order the game from Gamestop or something stupid like that?
its out for the U.K PSN, so you need to go there and redeem your code, check out precinct52.com and solve the puzzle to get your code.Is the demo out on PSN or do I have to pre-order the game from Gamestop or something stupid like that?

finally got a chance to play the demo, it's really well made (apart from the voicework) but honestly the gameplay just doesn't appeal to me, so i'm going to pass on this one, nearly fell asleep several times playing and never found the fight sequence exciting either, also really didn't like the controls
