Comparing it to Crysis on high settings makes more sense imo. GEARS 2 isnt in the same breath graphically as KZ2.

i dunno bout that i can run crysis on enthusiast or w/e its called it there is no comparison but i also have a very expensive pc so no console game can rival a pc game never has never will.
as an owner of gears of war, gears of war 2 and killzone 2, I can honestly say Killzone 2 looks quite a bit better....for the simply fact of how much is going on at once. Gears is very barron usually.

serious i was kind of thinkin the opposite but that might b because i beat gears and no killzone 2. So i had to ability to see more environments in gears

WHO CARES?! Theyre both beautiful looking games! Its not like theyre trash and we're ticked off at the lazy developers. Theyre comprable but KZ2 looks slightly better. SO WHAT?!

unreal engine 3 is better at textures atleast on pc.
Textures are as good as the developers can make it to be (whether they want to or are able to). Rainbow Six: Vegas 1&2 uses Unreal Engine 3. The textures suck big time.

i know it depends on the skill of the texture artist, but unreal engine 3's good at streaming high res ones.

While I feel that Gears 2 has the better campaign which frankly, surprised the hell out of me after all the epic reviews I had been reading about KZ2, it's still pretty much universally agreed that KZ2 is the best looking console game to date.
Gears and Gears 2 are great looking console games, without a doubt... but Killzone 2 honestly trumps them both... KZ2 is easily the best looking console shooter right now...
