The is funny because Killzone 2 multiplayer was by far and away one of the most difficult to pick games,it had a steep learning curve,it wasn't COD in any way shape or form,it was clear that the multiplayer wasn't aiming to be another COD.

I've watched the 900MB video and they're right. It is over blurry at times but that's a staple of a Killzone game. GG use far too much motion blur and other blurry effects to make the image blend together a bit better and hide some of the uglier aspects so they dont' clash against others.

Oh man.. i hope you played the PC version aswell so your opinion on Max Payne may not be tainted. The PS2 port is shit for I and II both. The OG Xbox ports are far better.. but still not that good due to clunky controls.

It looks great, my concern is, are they using dedicated servers and with the blue tooth PS4 controller input lag. I know the X1 will use primarily dedicated servers for their MP games plus the controller uses Wifi direct for much less input lag. I think after a while if you play MP games on X1 and then go play on PS4 you will notice a difference.

Learning curve? Killzone 2? Games with steep learning curve are games such as starcraft 2 and dota 2. In Killzone 2 you just have to get used to the unresponsive movement, which shouldn't be there in the first place.

Well they aren't action shots were particles really would be visible apart from the last one. Crysis 3 has local realtime reflections too though, the pictures don't really show it off that well. Here's a better one from the alpha:

If I were sony, I would put the KZ games front and centre of their PS4 marketing 

I would do that aswell. Flashy graphics is an excellent way to attract fools.

Unfortunately, I did play it on PS2. It was decent, but it had flaws.

I'm a big fan of the series, but it was unplayable for me after a couple of levels. I could stand the painfully bad graphics in comparison to the PC version, but i really couldn't stand the horrid controls, long loading times and wildly inconsistent framerate.

To put things into perspective based on my experience playing all three versions, the OG Xbox port is light years ahead of the PS2 port... and the PC version is light years ahead of the Xbox version. deadh.gif

KZ does look great on gifs and bullshots but ill hold my hudge untill i see the game on my screen (image quality, AA)

C3 has pretty good particles as well, albeit not as exaggerated in their size. There are volumetric smoke and fog shadows, The smoke is even affected by explosions too.

at 2:01 there's the bit about particles.

Nevertheless it's amazing what Guerilla Games pulled off in a launch title and in the mp too.

Nope, it looks great despite all the blur that it needs and if it's anything like KZ2 MP I can't wait to play it (Hopefully it's still alive by then) but beating stuff like Crysis 3 or BF4 on PC? Nah. I bet it's even going to have smaller maps and player count.

Would you look at that... another gpuking thread proclaiming his unfettered love for his favorite piece of plastic. Killzone looks good though, it'll be nice once we get some direct-feed shots from Digital Foundry though.

Didn't you get the memo? DF is only relevant when there is something negative about the other consoles,anything they claim regarding PS4 is just them being paid by MS to spread lies..where were you when they debunked the 7Gigs just for games claim? where were you when they debunked 8 cores just for gaming?..:cool:

meh... i remember i played Battle field 3 and was driving a tank and couldn't even destroy a block of cement in the floor. That was it for that game with me.

Yes, KZSF clearly looks better, but it isn't a dramatic leap of the sort that would send KZSF ahead of all other games as you claim it does.

I mean, honestly, watch that Killzone 3 multiplayer footage above and try to tell me that KZSF represents a dramatic leap over that.

 

Edit: I also wanted to add that the foliage quality in that first shot looks decidedly current gen (aside from maybe the tree's leaves). Especially the grass, which is of a pretty poor quality. Lots of alpha aliasing there too. And look at the ground between the clumps of grass--the textures there look surprisingly low resolution. It actually reminds me of this particular section in Gears of War 3 that had grass and ground textures that looked similar to that. The textures on the small stones, the walkway border, and the large rocks are also pretty average-looking.

I can honestly say there is a big leap, also factoring in 1080p and 60FPS.
