After all, when I asks people of their ideas most of the time they don't have one or it's very basic.

huh? Who are you asking and about what? Do you just ask random people about LBP ideas? Ideas for a novel? or what? Stick to what you are doing and don't become a creative citizen.

Sorry, I really do rumble a lot don't I? :P I guess I just like to because it's easy to take turns talking on message boards. Anyway, I meant ideas for anything; game ideas or other wise. I can understand not being able to come up with levels for game. It's like you had all these awesome ideas but when you got a chance to make them they just slip through you, right? I been there. :P I didn't mean to insult anyone. Besides, I thought you would want to make levels with good platforming rather than with good references? Or is the platforming shallow? I have yet to play LBP so I don't know what it's like.

lol, add me on PSN, I'm playing it right now...

They gave Gameplay a double-A score because of the controls -- seems like a moderately large complaint to me. I'm not looking for flaws -- I really wanted this game to work, as I love 2D platformers and it would be great to see them make a comeback on consoles -- but LBP just has some big problems in my opinion.

WAIW

They gave gameplay an 8.9 alot closer to AAA and honestly they didnt really explain why? Maybe they didnt feel it was technical enough, maybe they wanted to play it safe because they had limited gamer created levels who knows. I think you might be assuming it was due to control which from what I heard was not made a big deal.

I love platformers too and if its personal preference then that is all it is. I am not trying to change your mind, good and great games are subjective, my point was to contest the idea that this game is barely a platformer when it is more down to the roots of platforming then most modern platforms. The rewards keep me playing story mode trying to get 100% and not die on all levels. And yesterday night alone I spent hours playing user created levels and honestly had alot more fun playing original well constructed levels then short nostalgic tribute levels. I think there is one tribute level that I love and its the ICO level, its still up and the reason I like it is not just because I like ICO but because the guy who made it made a very very good platforming level.

People somehow think this will cripple user created levels, please. A good level creator is not gonna stop creating awsome levels because the vehicle in his level can't be called the batmobile, a good level creater is gonna change the name slightly and created an awsome level. I don't see this stopping people from making and posting levels anymore then people stop using youtube when they got strict. People will change names to do their tributes and great level designers will continue to make awsome original levels.

The devs for Forza 2 probably didn't include a moderation option in the game... maybe in Forza 3 now... I mean Little Big Planet just set a dangerous precedent...

Lame. What's the point if we can't take someone else's work and make it ours (to mock).

Let me get this straight, Sony is deleting not only shared content which in many cases violates no copyright, but also deleting content that is unshared which they feel is a violation? And they're doing this in a game that touts how it is about the community level building / sharing experience?

I realize that there are overzealous companies out there who are going to sue Sony's LPB project for unlicensed use of their trademarked / copyrighted images (aka, if you draw a picture of Mario and distribute it over their servers ). However deleting it both on and offline is going too far. YouTube doesn't delete your submissions off your hard drive when Warner Bros decides your latest video had too many Matrix clips.

That falls under "fair use". Sony distributing user-created levels that intentionally recreate content / characters from license games obviously gets into a more uncomfortable area. Some people will say "yeah, but the user built it themselves" - however that doesn't make it ok for Sony to distribute it. Just because an amateur made the level, instead of a professional, doesn't make it less of a violation.

The developers in question are just protecting their content, they don't want Sony profiting from their ideas. But how Sony is handling this is perturbing. While I understand pulling the content from Sony's servers, what I'm hearing is that it's gone forever, even for the creators of the level. That's concerning, so they will log in to their PS3s to find that their hard work is simply gone? Surely it would be ok for me to create such things for personal use, and simply not share them?

No. What if you decided to share them later on? Honestly, though, I can't believe they're not just removing them, but straight up deleting them forever.

It's not good, but it's not a gamekiller or anything by any means. I played a bunch of great original levels tonight, and that was just on the first page.

The act of sharing them is the problem, not the act of creating them. I can build a complete Mario level out of foam board in my garage, put on overalls, even put up signs in my front yard advertising that I am THE Mario, spend the weekends grilling with my brother Luigi while playing our awesome "Super Mario Bros" custom levels we built, and I haven't broken a single copyright law (though I probably have broken a dozen city ordinances ).

However if I *distribute* those levels, or start charging admission to the "Mushroom Kingdom" (aka, my garage ) that's when I'm in trouble (not just for copyright violations... can you imagine what the cops would think of a dude luring people into his mushroom kingdom garage ? )

wow that really really sucks for all the people that put all the hard work into creating the levels. I can understand why Sony is taking down the user created levels though.

Well, you're right, there will still be awesome levels, and your Youtube analogy fits. What I'm upset about is that they completely got rid of the best levels without warning. I can't go back and play God of War and now no one else can play it for the first time... I think everyone recognizes it was a bad decision for MM not to warn anyone beforehand.

Even if you don't make profit of it, it is illegal.

Plz take down your avatar, and your sig image, and your signature as a whole.. You are referencing something that you don't have copyright to. I know you aren't making profit out of it, but if you don't take it down, you will be sued and fined and incarcerated.
