Lets Face it , $400 PS3 = Death of Xbox 360

I totally agree but if they dont get there act together with some better titles soon, it wont matter.

We don't know if it is coming for sure so don't jump the gun just yet. The rumor was started by an xbox insider just predicting on what Sony will do.

Sales will rise but it wont kill teh box until it gets a good game :lol:groudyogre

Yes ps3 is getting a price cut says insider. I think i'll wait till sony says something. And whats stopping microsoft from dropping the price of the 360 again. If they do that then your back to square one for sony since microsoft has a larger library of games and is still cheaper than the ps3. Heck the 360 would still be cheaper than the ps3 even after sony's price drop.

2 games that were out a year and years before on other platforms, and average shooter, and an online only game with 5 maps that is pretty much broken right now. Go to the sony forums and see for yourself all the complaints about the connectivity issues with this game...... Keep lying to yourself :|

What makes you so sure that the Microsoft or Nintendo won't further reduce the price of their consoles? As they are making a profit on every console sold, both companies are in a very good position to shave an extra $50 off the Wii and Xbox 360 prices. The same can't be said for the PS3 - since Sony are still to break even, they can only drop the price by so much. Make no mistake, a $400 40Gb PS3 with will definitely shift systems, but there will undoubtedly be a counter-attack from the opposition.

For the Elite right? But most of the Xbox 360 owners will be "you can be them for $270" though who buys the core. It would help systems sells, that is for certain. The PS3 does have some good games out, but the console will become more popular when certain series start popping up on to the console (MGS4, FF13, R&C, etc.)

Really you act as if the PS3 was ever even worth $600 to begin with. Ps3 should have been $400 to begin with. But even at $400 it can't compete with the 360's Games and Online. All it can still do better is play a HD movie. So i don't see the treat to 360 at all.Nugtoka

The wii is doing something that the ps3 can't do and that is bring non gamers in trust me i know as my aunt and uncle bought a wii for themselves and not for my cousin. The ps3 doesn't cater to non gamers much like the 360. Thats why the wii continues to sell alot is because it is somehow someway drawing in non gamers that don't have a clue what a good game is.

Yet they are making a profit on every 360 sold. They also make money on Windows, Xbox Live, etc. They don't just make money on the console. Don't underestimate how much money microsoft has. Look at how much they payed to get exclusive episodic content on the 360.

IMO they should have kept the 60gb and just kept cutting that one down.

I got one on launch (didnt ask for it but enjoy it nontheless lol) and now they released a 80G and apparently another 40g...WHATS THE POINT? just keep the darn 60G model and cut it way down!

While each PS3 costs 900$ to make...Sold at 600$ that's a 300$ loss per PS3 for Sony. How does that leave them?
