Ok, so... the GameCube sucked. What good games it had, they were GREAT! But Nintendo just didn't put out a lot of big titles every year. If there was a Time for anyone to say that they are leaving their core Audience... it would have been here. With Titles like Chibi Robo and Odama for the GameCube's last year, those are pretty casual games. Now lets look at the Wii.
Wii
2006 - the Wii Begins
- Excite Truck
- Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Big Fall Title
- Wii Sports
2007 - Best Year Nintendo has Had in a LONG TIME!!!
- Wii Play
- WarioWare: Smooth Moves
- Super Paper Mario - Big Spring Title
- Mario Party 8
- Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree
- Pokemon Battle Revolution
- Mario Strikers Charged
- Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - Big Summer Title
- Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast
- Battalion Wars 2
- Endless Ocean
- Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn
- Super Mario Galaxy - Big Fall Title
- Super Smash Brothers: Brawl - Big Winter Title
When games like Battalion Wars, Fire Emblem, Wario Ware, and Mario Strikers were considered BIG releases for the year on GameCube, they are 2nd tier to the REAL big titles! This is proof that Nintendo is focused on ALL gamers. They are not sacrificing titles to create these non-gamer games... but they are making MORE games at a time. How? These simple games like Wii Sports, Wii Play, and Wii Fit take a group of 20 people or less to make! Because of this, Nintendo fans to not have to suffer through with just these titles. So, what do we know about 2008?
2008 - from what we know (and i'm guessing here people)
- Mario Kart Wii - Big Spring Title
- Wii Fit
- Disaster: Day of Crisis - Big Summer Title
- Kriby's Adventure
- Project HAMMER
- Animal Crossing - Big Fall Title
Other Titles may include; Pikmim 3, Starfox, Wave Race, 1080º, and several more. This is hardly anything from what we really know. Nintendo has stated that they have over 40 titles in the works for Wii, and we know about 12 of them. They also stated that most of them are for the "Hardcore". This probably means titles like Pikmin and Starfox! :D
Now, If you have read this... you may now debate. I hope you enjoyed my look back at just how Nintendo supports their consoles!
