Need I say more? Even the lower ranked games of 2011 like Dark Souls, Witcher 2, and BF3 will go on to become legends. Wtf does 2012 have? It's top 10 is embarassing.

Assassin's Creed III, Dishonored, Halo 4, Mass Effect 3, Borderlands 2, Journey, Street Fighter X Tekken, Forza Horizon, SSX, Xenoblade, GW2.

Plenty of fantastic and unique games dere to enjoy on all teh platforms.

All I see in 2011 are unoriginal sequels.

This year has been pretty bad, especially from January-July. I have had great games to play lately though such as Borderlands 2 and Torchlight 2, but I spent the majority of this year catching up on my backlog and playing games from previous years.

What a horrible list, last year easily wipes the floor with it.

Spent months of the year having one of the most revolutionary and best gaming experiences of my life in DayZ. On top of that I've played loads of exceptional games. I'd say it has been a great year in gaming, I've got great games coming out of my ears.

Don't know what your gaming platform was, maybe that sucked, mine was awesome.

I guess if you don't have a PC it can suck right about now

And....??? Almost every game you listed there is a sequel, a crossover game (Forza Horizon, Street Fighter X Tecken), or something that was taken from a last gen game (SSX). The only original games you list are Dishonored and the 2 hour long Journey (I'm sure it's great, haven't gotten to it yet, but come on). Wii had a couple of good ones but at this point Wii doesn't even count anymore. This gen is dying out. Even with the Wii-U there is really nothing terribly exciting about 2012 as far as software.

2012 was a failure all around. 2013 could be great if Nintendo hits us with a couple of great/surprising exclusives (unlike their launch window) and the real next gen consoles from Sony/Microsoft are at least REVEALED officially. Sony also has a handful of great games at least to start out 2013 with a bang, which they didn't have this year.2012 is definitely a low point for the whole industry.

That was not asking a question, it was making a sarcastic remark. And MOTN and Fable are better games than Journey. Journey is not even a game, it's an artsy fartsy zen-like walk through a desert. There is no story or gameplay elements, all it is is walking and chirping like a bird.

I will never understand the praise that game gets. I even played through it twice to see if I was missing something and the second time was just as bland as the first. The fact that Journey is considered PS3's best game this year speaks volumes of just how terrible it has been to be a PS3 owner this year.
