Nintendo comes up with the SNES controller -> Sony copies it with the PS1

Nintendo comes up with a joystick -> Sony copies the joystick

Nintendo comes up with rumble -> Sony copies rumble

Nintendo comes up with a wireless controller -> Sony copies wireless controllers

Nintendo comes up with motion controls -> Sony copies motion controlls

Nintendo comes up with a fighting game featuring it's most popular characters -> .....

Let's be fair though, they didn't steal the triggers from nintendo. They just didn't pick them up till another company did.....Now the wiiU, love it or hate it, is sure to be extremely innovative. Let's see what they steal there.

Everyone copies everyone. Imagine if Sony hadn't "copied" all that stuff from Nintendo?

Where would they be now?

These type of pictures could also be applied to both MS and Nintendo.

Maybe they wouldn't be 5 billion in debt if they came up with ideasrather than copying.

Or have a handheld that wasn't failing.

Nintendo comes up with the SNES controller -> Sony copies it with the PS1 [the PS1 was a Snes]

Nintendo comes up with a joystick -> Sony copies the joystick [Vectrex had analog sticks way before Nintendo]

Nintendo comes up with rumble -> Sony copies rumble

Nintendo comes up with a wireless controller -> Sony copies wireless controllers [this is just natural progression]

Nintendo comes up with motion controls -> Sony copies motion controlls [Sony had the eyetoy]

Nintendo comes up with a fighting game featuring it's most popular characters -> ..... [this is bullcrap just ask SNK]

Let's be fair though, they didn't steal the triggers from nintendo. They just didn't pick them up till another company did.....Now the wiiU, love it or hate it, is sure to be extremely innovative. Let's see what they steal there. [Dreamcast had analog triggers way before Nintendo]

Actually, cows play the victim card the most on here. Cows are also the most rabbid/aggressive on here (along with every gaming community on the internet).

Coincidentally, Sony has had the MOST negative press/negative ammo against them out of all 3 companies this gen.

I don't see how noting this is playing the victim card. I don't think this is so much about Sony being mean to Nintendo as Sony relying heavily on the innovations of other companies rather than coming up with great ideas themselves.

Oh come on now.. I really don't see the problem here. Sure Sony copy various things, but honestly, does it matter that much? I'm sure PS3 owners would like to duke it out with their favorite character so shouldn't they just be allowed to do so?

Well when others have done all the thinking for you, and you come around with an identical concept a year later, the least you can do is at least try to slightly improve on it :P

you know, i enjoy unlocking achievements, in games and there is no doubt sony copied them. I dont go out of my way to unlock them, but i do try harder to get them if i am particularly enjoying a game.

but i just questioned if they are a good thing or a bad thing, check this out i just read on another site...to do with achivement hunting for the game "THE WITCHER 2"

Thread Title:-Too hard even on easy!!!

First post :-

Trading this crap in. This has to be some kind of false advertising. I was told I could play this on easy and with the implied expectation that you know, I would find it easy. It's not, I beat the prologue with no problems but now I am facing mobs that kill me in a few hits in Act 1.

I absolutely had enough when I faced those wraiths. They kill you in just a few hits and don't go down easily. This isn't what "easy" implies. If I wanted to play Darksouls, I would go and buy Darksouls.

I understand perfectly what the devs had in mind. Use potions, prepare traps, dodge a lot, block, etc. I don't have the time or the patience for that kind of preparation for each and every fight. I am on an achievement schedule and I don't appreciate the attention this game demands for casual players.

Even penny-arcade made fun of the exorbitant difficulty:http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2011/05/25

EDIT1: There are several other issues not just the combat. For example, did you know the game's difficulty has a backwards curve? That is to say, hardest from the beginning, easier in the end. That's really retarded. Here is a great review that captures the truth about the game:http://gamerlimit.com/2012/04/gamer-...anced-edition/

EDIT2: Questing is a real chore. Instructions are too vague, and the minimap is close to useless. Being "old school" or "hardcore" is just an excuse for lazy and poor design. Can you name a single modern game that doesn't tell you what to do and how to do it? That's the standard today, players usually enjoy a decent wayward system; it's a standard, not a sellout to casuals. What is exactly wrong with having a clear, unambiguous quest system? Too much "handholding"? = Another veneer for bad design.another website

I cannot understand how people will care more about getting achievements than they will enjoying the game. what the hell is the point in getting a big gamerscore, if you have no fun playing the games in the first point?

Are you sure you quoted the right person in the right thread?

Lets come up with a list of things Nintendo has copied from other companies.

Sega Game Gear had first handheld with backlight. About 10 years later(lol it took them that long) Nintendo did the same.

Sony came up with dual analog. Nintendo copied with Gamecube.

Dreamcast first console with online play. Nintendo copied eventually.

Nintendo were not the first to have downloadable demos/downloadable anything.

I could go on. The only difference between other companies and Nintendo is that when Nintendo copy they don't make the copy any better. In fact a lot of the time they somehow manage to make the copy worse. See their awful online functionality.

Add optical disc drive to the list. Sony and Philips collaborated on the tech.

I never buy that excuse, for me, it's about who makes it available to the consumer first not about who "thought" about it first

just look at the PS MOVE, allegedly, sony has been working on it for a decade, but if it wasn't for the Wii's sucess it would never have seen the light of day

Sony made the first CD players, were a key player in developing the tech and actually them and phillips that pretty much wrote the Red book which is the standardisation of the CD optical media that all cd's and players including the games tech must abide by at all times.

If we really want to go there,Sony and ninty were actually going to be the first dedicated to market optical media but the 2 had a fallout over various articles within the contract and the tech that was developed from it by Kutaragi's team ended up becoming the PS1 which was actually near being dropped if it werent for Kutaragi.

Without that Snes CD fuss the gaming market would be a whole lot diffren and the N64 could have essentially been the PS1 in terms of tech and all the rest of it, Sony and ninty collaborated but ninty didnt honor the signed contract because of a few issues like IP control and manufacturing and didnt honor it and signed a new one with Philips that ultimately resulted in nothing and 3 games which go down in history as some of the worst.

The R&D developed by Sony for the SNES CD project waas what essentially became the PS1 and was actually near enough dropped if it werent for Kutaragi talking the old CEO round.

Sony came up with the CD tech with phillips and co-wrote the ISO handbook which must be abided by all manufacturers of the product.

Without the whole SNES CD debacle PS as a brand may never have existed and Sony and ninty would be partnered, oh yeah it was a massive thing Japanese companies tend to have a code of not stabbing one another in the back aswell it was really a weird move for ninty and in hindsight one that cost em quite dearly in the years following it.

LOL butthurt Nintendonites

Fanboys are pathetic. Companies always copy other companies, it's the very nature of business. Don't act like Nintendo are blessed by the God of Gaming with all their "originality". Some of the things you listed as being "copied" from Nintendo by Sony are just flat out lies, where is the proof? The Nes/Snes controller is NOTHING like the DS1. This is pure butthurt fanboy speculation.

As one other poster has already asked: What about Microsoft? Surely they can't be taken off the hook for creating the Kinect and having similar designs that could be argued as being originally from Nintendo.

Seriously, grow the f*** up.

Who would have thought that the gaming industry would work on the same basis of all human development building upon the ideas and inventions of the past.

A to the CD argument a few post back don't forget the PCE/TurboGrafx CD it was the first gaming console to utilize the technology.

Sony making the Boomerang controller was the worst thing they did for themselves. Copying is better for them, not like other companies don't do it.
