Let's settle this - Gears 3 vs U2. 56K

Ok Lems you've claimed Gears 3 looks on par with U2 so let's let SW decide. I could only find 1 in game U2 pic ( aside from multiplayer which looks average) so please feel free to post your own pics. Yes I know comparing an unreleased game to a year old one is pointless but I never made these claims.

From the screens provided... I'd say Gears. But we should probably wait until both are released...

Might as well wait a few more months until they unveil Uncharted 3 heh.
I don't know what that has to do with the OP but i am tired and i felt like saying this.

I'm going with U2 on this one. But we need some proper gameplay pics of Gears.

TC shouldn't you compare games that are actually out UC2 and GEOW2? In that case UC2 wins in a landslide. UC3 will be out in 2011 so compare that to GEOW 3 after they both come out and we can play them.

it's going to be sooo entertaining when the next xbox and wii hd comes out and the people claiming gfx matter completely flip their arguments.

Seriously though, based on the HD footage I've seen of both, I honestly think they look more or less equal. That said, I think Lens of Truth and Digital Foundry are more suited to resolving this than well........SW-goers.

I don't like the color correction in Gears 3. They're using it to artificially saturate everything, and it looks...artificial.

In my opinion it's:

Gears 3 > Uncharted 2 > Gears 2 > Gears > Uncharted 1

Something tells me that this thread will somehow not turn out to be the "be-all/end-all" thread the TC'c hoping it will be...

Well considering Gears 3 is still in alpha stage and U2 has been out for a while now. I'll have to go with U2 until Gears3 actually comes out (so I really can't say which title looks better) lol.

gears character models have ugly textures. They been using the same old unreal engine. its outdated and cant compete with UC2

Even though im a Sony Fanboy i say Gears of war 3 looks a tad bit better. That reason is simple Uncharted 2=2009 Gears of war 3=2011.
