I'm watching them now. As a level creator, it's very, very impressive. But none of the levels look particularly fun to play.

well if you dont agree doesnt mean other gamers cannot think/believe LBP is one of the greatest platform games..

While I dont think its up there with the very best, it surely stands out from the rest and gives work to your creativity/imagination by letting you create nearly anything you can dream of and turn it into a game level or mini game :)

If LittleBigPlanet is one of the best, what does that make Trials Evolution? The Super, Super Best?

Probably the most open minded platformer in the ability to build your own levels, but best, I just don't think so. The controls are kinda floaty. It is an overall enjoyable game, but I don't know if it makes it in my top 20 platformers to be honest.

dont get me wrong I also dont put LBP series among the top3 best platformers, however I'd still put it among the best, since it manages to offer something unique and different from other platform titles... But MM should improve further the floaty controls of LBP, I think that would please more gamers..

I wouldn't say its *One Of The Best* either, is it more enjoyable then say..SMG ? that is debatab;e, the level editor can give you a overall more fleshed out platforming experience, however SMG and others still trump it in regards to JUST platforming. Which LBP is not about, it is about all the crazy and cool **** you can make.

The actual gameplay of LBP is a 3/10, the level of content and levels bumps it up to a 6

It certainly is at the top of the list for user-created content. You can do so much with what LBP provides.

However, the platforming itself is medicre at best, and doesn't compare to better platformers like Mario, Rayman etc.

The creativity in LBP/2 is insane. Cool videos you posted. But the fun doesn't from the actual platforming or level design but from the look/visuals of it.

There are platformers as far back as the NES that outclass the platforming gameplay in LBP.

From a platforming standpoint its not even in the top 100.

Now if you're into level editing tools, custom creations, community features and all that then its a fine game.

I see why so many people enjoy the game, but I usually prefer my games to have good gameplay.

I think all of these videos show both the strenghts and weakness in the game's editor

all of the games look good and are somewhat faithtful representation, but they all feel wonky and sort of unstable (specially sonic)

Hey cows, the PS3 actually has good games you don't need tooverhypethe mediocre stuff. LBP is a weak sauce platformer and the level editor is outclassed multiple times over on the PC.

And does anyone else find it funny that all the people in this thread hyping LBP are the same bunch that call any other similar game "kiddy"?

That SMB3 level was painful to watch. So was the Sonic 2 one. Just because you dress up a game to look like a good game doesnt mean it plays like one.

Killer as in looked terrible? Seriously the gameplay was disgusting lol.

If this is all cows want then Sony might as well just reskin games like Doom 1 with KZ and Uncharted graphics and call it a day. The next GT game should be a simple reskin of Daytona USA. Obviously you guys dont care about the underlying gameplay.
