Well seems TC is almost a week late to the party. We have known for 6 now that we have to pay to play online on the PS4. Although for me it isn't really paying to play online. More like paying for all the games and discounts and getting the online as a added bonus.

I think you're missing the point. Cows swore up and down for the past 8 years that Sony "would NEVER charge for online". "Online gaming should and will ALWAYS be free". Not to mention how many cows said they wouldn't support Sony if they did start charging. Now all of a sudden charging for online is OK because it's Sony. Yeah, lems have every right to talk about cows and how hypocritical they are.

it sounds like much better value than ps+, the only rental service in the world that doesn't let you choose what games you get. i find it hard to believe that sony has to sell buildings just to put food on the table even after coming up with so many ways to screw over their customers. :(

I just got my Mini HDMI to HDMI cable from newegg today, hooked up to my 52 inch Sharp TV through the 580. I'm gaming next gen NOW.

I understand the discounts (which all platforms offer) but you guys are bragging about software that you don't actually own. Once your $50 stops going to Sony... you games stop functioning.

You're right. PSN+ subscribers don't necessarily own their games but you can think of it as any other service like Netflix. Sony is giving gamers gaming incentives to subscribe to PSN+and not junk like giving you access to your Netflix service etc. People think Sony is simply going to put up a paywall and its going to be the same service behind the scenes. I'm fairly certain Sony is seriously trying to invest into PSN and they can't do it with a subscription service. The whole "free games" thing is nothing more then a way to keep people playing games on PlayStation. It's like how Steam keeps attracting gamers with sales. Sony simply does it by "giving away" games. They'll be more services on PSN+ that'll make it compelling like the background automatic updates (better with the PS4's background processor), cloud storage and full game trails (could be great with Gaikai); "free games" is just icing on the cake this generation.

$250 cost over a 5 year period. Why not save that money, put it toward a good gaming PC? You're most likely going to buy a PC eventually, put that extra money plus the cost of the console on top of what you would have payed for a crap PC, then you are good to go. AND you'll save big on Steam games, furthering up the HUNDREDS in savings.

Plus is just better than gold, you get free games and they have been getting more and more recent, look at the Ps4 offering driveclub at launch.

Yep, discounts on DLC :lol: which should have already came with the full game.

Haven't bought any DLC, but yeah, I would imagine that would get discounts as well. I only buy games, not DLC. Also not sure what is funny to you about that, but at least you found it funny.
