We have to pay for online but we get quadruple our money back with all the perks PS+ gives us lol.    We instantly get our money back on launch because they're giving us drive club.

I already have PS+, so no I'm not buying it for the online :PAnd money was never the issue anyways. There is no value in live, and MS has been making a fortune out of all us, or anyone who has paid for the "service" all these years. I for one I'm done with GOLD, and the xbox. 

Don't pay for PS+, but from what ive seen it offers very good deals, and gives you games that you would want and are often newer games. MS doesn't do those discounts and the free games they give is old and something you probably have anyway. Or would be insanely cheap to pick up if you didn't

Also, PS+ is a per system account. If you pay for online on one account on the system, you can create as many alternate ones as you want and still play online. Can't do that on xbox and is infruiating if you share a system with family/friends.

I MIGHT go with Xbone this gen. I'm not ready to pay for online. I have a good internet connection, so these issues do not bother me. But I'm still unsure about the Kinect. It's scary.

Xbox live gold is much cheaper.

Everytime my gold runs out I get a deal of 1$/month or sometimes 3$/month.

So i had to pay last year around 20 bucks.

The point is XBL was never worth the asking price MS put on the service while restriction basic online play access.  That is the point, and the crutial difference between PSN and XBL is even when Sony offered basic online play completely free of charge people still went out and bought PS+ becuase it was actually worth paying for.  

That is the biggest difference between PS+ and XBL.  Do I think Sony should make PS+ mandatory for online play?  No I still don't think that, but I will say that for what Sony offers with PS+ it is actually worth the purchse price.  XBL was always just a service that held you ability to play online games hostage and nothing more.

On top of that, most savvy shoppes can find 12 month live subs for $30-40.  I don't know of ANYONE who actually paid $60 for 12 mths of Live.  Question is.. can you say the same for Sony's Rental service?

The reason XBLG is being used to bash microsoft is many. The problem with XBLG and PS+ isnt that you have to pay to play online, it is what you have to pay for, why you have to pay and the value of paying for one company vs. another one.

XBLG was bashed up till recently because microsoft was making you pay for things all of their competition was giving you for free. Now sony is charging but what they charge for and the value they give you makes XBLG look just really sad and pathetic for a pay service, and the PC still has free online access to everything. So basically microsoft is being treated so poorly over this mess because they have failed on a massive scale to deliver any kind of value to their customers in the face of the competition or even do a single thing that treats paying customers like they are important or mean anything. Microsofts and xbox one and xbox live gold all seem to have one mantra F*** you, pay me" and nothing else. So their ire is well deserved.

1) Microsoft is making it so you cant even use your netflix account unless you pay for XBLG.

PS4 you can use netflix, hulu, media apps and everything online that doesnt involve playing a game online for free.

2) Microsoft has been promoting world of tanks as a free to play game. But its an online game, they make you buy XBLG in order to play it making it not free to play at all.

Sony has stated all games on PS4 that are free to play will truly be free to play. Warframe, dc universe online, and planetside will be playable without ever having to pay to subscribe to PS+ because sony said it wasnt fair to call it free to play then charge people. So you dont need a PS+ account to play free online games.

3) XBL, if you dont have it you cant use your console. This includes half of the countries in the world. So millions of people who would want to buy a XB1 cant if they dont have XBL in their country to register their system.

PS4 works anywhere, anytime, in the world because it does not require an online account for any reason to enjoy the system.

4) XBLG costs 60 dollars a year.

PS+ costs 50 dollars a year.

5) XBLG gives you 2 free games a month.

PS+ gives you 18 games instantly, 5 new games a month, discounts on the PSN store, online game save backups, full game trials, beta access, the PS+ account will be accesible on all 3 of sonys systems and more.

So all the bashing comes from the people who feel microsoft is charging more for way way way less than their competion and they arent treating customers like they matter at all while their competition does more for less or are just free.
