be a total MGS4 rip off? I can so see Sam going through this aging and emotional stage....the game was obvious halted for the fact that it looked like garbage early on, compared to 4. (once ubi had a chance to play mgs4 ;)

convictions will focuse more greatly in characters...willing to bet Sam will have a battle with a strong and well developed boss.ALA snake with Ocelot/liquid.

can't wait to see the cheesy/love scenes in this game and just the added emotional factors. Don't get me wrong i enjoy the SC games, GAMEPLAY-WISE..but the story for the majority of them were terrible..with the typical CIA BS. Anyhow..should be interesting.

I'm love the MGS series but SC has always beat the MGS series when it comes to gamplay. While the MGS series always beat the SC series in terms of story and characters (excpet MGS4 story was rather weak compared to MS2,3 and 1.

Sam Fisher has change years ago. I don't see why you now bring this up with how he's changing from his younger self.

There's your dilmea. MGS should naver have scored 10, more of an 8.5 IMO. and that's being generous. The extra 1.5 was given by reviewers carried away on the hype train.

Oh I'm not the one who said MGS4 scored high because of hype. I was supporting your claim, by giving you an example of two games that had massive amounts of hype, yet scored poorly in the end here on GS. Because it is not the hype of a game that determines the game, but the quality it has in the end.

what did you expect from a tom clancy game? i thought the mistake they made in da was making the story centre around sam, i preferred it when sam was the guy who came in cleaned up the mess and left without a trace. dont know what to expect at all with this new sc game but im hoping its not as you describe

I'd probably enjoy Splinter Cell more than MGS

Well yeah. Thats the reason I guess I tend to prefer the gameplay of SC because it is more about the stealth where MGS is kinda like stealth-action.

Splinter Cell always had Fisher as older character, in ChaosTheory he was already over 50ty, so if anythin it's MGS4 that ripped Splinter Cell.
Anyway I doubt they will try copying MGS4, SplinterCell always was down to Earth and logical. MGS always was silly B-movie like stuff. MGS4 especially was totall mess of G.I.Joe mixed with soap opera. I seriously doubt Ubisoft will take this route with new Splinter Cell

I just want them to keep the awesome gadgets from previous SC games.

They are not even the same thing. Splinter cell is a stealth sim and mgs is a action game with the ability to play with stealth.

So you're saying that reviewers are never influenced from the hype surrounding a game? I'm not saying they go from pole to pole but they most definitely are influenced on occasion. MSG4 was one of those occasions. Halo 2 is another that got a +1 on it's score that springs to mind. Sure, there's examples of games that were hyped but still reviewed objectively, KZ2 for example,but there's plenty of other you have to take with a pinch of salt. MGS4 was a good game but it was in no way, shape or form a 10/10. Just my 0.02.
