That's exactly what makes SC a pure stealth game, contrary to MGS.

MGS4 is the ultimate hybrid game (for now at least).

One thing that gets me though. It's like all of these people who have "played" MGS4 magically forgot about the European level (Act 3). It's one of the BEST pure stealth sequences/moments in gaming. The stealth mechanics shine so bright in that level it's not even funny.

Anyway I doubt they will try copying MGS4, SplinterCell always was down to Earth and logical. MGS always was silly B-movie like stuff. MGS4 especially was totall mess of G.I.Joe mixed with soap opera. I seriously doubt Ubisoft will take this route with new Splinter Cell

Now I'm not saying SC ripped off of MGS nor MGS ripped off of SC. I think they're each creative in their own way although I prefer SC over MGS because I like the story and the gameplay better. Gameplay because it places more of an emphasis on stealth that MGS does not and story because it's more realistic and logical than MGS's B movie **** If I want that, I'll go watch something like Army of Darkness.

Splinter Cell is one of the best stealth series even though Double Agent wasn't that great. 3 great games don't make the series smell and didn't Double Agent get good reviews from critics?

Ubi went back to the drawing board way before MGS was released.

Convictions looked terrible, Sam was a homless man throw chairs at people. Hardly Splinter Cell material.

All in all, i'd say Splinter Cell is a better game, albeit less varied then MGS4.
