From what I remember Convictions was never announced or presumably planned for the PS3 right? Anyway this discussion can lead into the multiplat vs exclusive debate where all too use to hearing. Motorstorm vs Pure, Halo vs COD, inFAMOUS vs Protoype etc.

There were no plans for the PSTriple version, only 360/PC.

Makes sense if it's true. I always thought it was their choice based on initial trends in sales and development.

MGS4's story was so complicated that it ended up being crap and breaten by halo 3's story.rgame1
It wasn't complicated in any way what so ever. It wasn't justanywhere as good as the other stories in the MGSseries. Adding a bunch of non-sense crap that contradicts the stories in MGS1,2,3and changing so many key story elements in the series.MGS4 story felt rushed it was like Hideo Kojima and Shuyo Murata wanted to just hurry up and finsih the game story as fast as they can.

I got a better joke name for it; Sphincter Smell. I demand everyone start using it immediately. It works even better with a subtitle. Sphincter Smell: Constipation.

I don't know how people believe that "Tactical Espionage Action" BS. The MGS series has hardly been about stealth, you only stealth in some parts of some levels, and most of the time it's a ridiculous approach to stealth. MGS series has been a unique gem that has many things, but being a proper stealth game isn't one of it's defining characteristics.

There is so much god damn exposition in MGS4. At times it's literally like sitting through a history lecture. Are you supposed to sit there and take notes or something? Because there's no way I'm gonna remember anything but the gist of it. I'm sure it's all very intricate and detailed, MGS has a pretty well-developed universe by this point. But for ****s sake Kojima, please do get to the point in a more efficient manner.

And that god damned ****ing monkey... For the record I haven't finished the game yet, think I'm at the beginning of act 4.

Anyhow, if anything I think Conviction will be more inspired by things like Bourne and 24. I'm sure there'll be a main bad guy and the writing will be more involved, but MGS hardly has the copyright on things like that does it?

MGS4 deserves special praise for making me endure the love/action scene at the end...

1- Its called SplinterCell...be more creative next time 2- Convictions in screens was looking impressive and one of the better looking games ...so fail on the idea that it ever looked bad :| 3- Splintercell was a superior franchise when it came to stealth gameplay between the 2. I don't even think there is an arguement for that. MGS had the story, the boss fights, the combat overall. But SC had the stealth and was far more satisfying for that .

Ubi went back to the drawing board way before MGS was released.

Convictions looked terrible, Sam was a homless man throw chairs at people. Hardly Splinter Cell material.

All in all, i'd say Splinter Cell is a better game, albeit less varied then MGS4.

Personally I preferred Hobo-Sam to his detached rubber-suit persona. In Conviction he was pissed at the world and would let no one stand in his way. If they did he would throw chairs in their faces, push them over counters and steal people's cell phones and throw them at people. The possibilities of roleplaying as a confused, angry bum rampaging through town were tremendous. If he's not in Conviction any longer I shall mourn his loss. :(

Im really hoping its a revenge story for Sam. Not a BS ohh im a double agent blah blah blah i want him to go infiltrate the CIA, and just Jason Bourne it up. Im ok with sam discovering that the CIA was infiltrated by baddies, but i would have a lot of fun with that.
