If nothing else, this game has given us a great gift to use on the interwebs :P

People need to realize MEA is using the frostbite 3 engine, which alone is a pretty powerful engine, its being used in a open world game vs a fps game (like battlefield) which doesnt take that much from the engine compared to MEA which is quadruple the size of any fps that would use the frostbite 3 engine.
The gameplay is leaps and bounds better than the trilogy, as soon as the game let me use the jetpack I was like "this is how you do it".

That's what I been saying, it's the Frostbite 3 Engine that's pushing Andromeda to it's limits and for what it worth, I didn't have any issues with Bioware using the Engine even though Bioware isn't Dice, I'm impress what I'm playing so far. The gameplay is indeed a huge step-up from ME3 using Jetpack helps dashing around enemies, really a game changer for the Mass Effect series.
I really like the game, but to me it feels like a game from like 2015 or earlier. After playing Zelda and Horizon, maybe it's just me but Andromeda just feels dated. I'm not hating on it really, since I'm really enjoying it. Like I wouldn't have been surprised if it was supposed to come out alongside Dragon Age: Inquisition. Maybe I just haven't played it enough yet, but those are my thoughts on it, especially regarding the facial animations. They are super awkward.

People have ME2 too high on the pedestal (although I still prefer ME1 over it) so it's gonna be impossible for any ME game to top it or be on it's lvl for a lot of people. Reviewers and and gamers need to realize MEA is a new ME game, it's not part of the trilogy and we're playing as the Ryders, not the amazing Shepard. It's gonna be the same with the next LoZ game cause Botw has set such a high standard for the series.
The technical issues don't bother me cause ME1 had INSANE amounts of pop ups on screen and animations don't bother me to a extent as long as it's not part of the combat (don't get me started on Aloys bow animation in Horizon). As for having none likable characters from previous ME games, I'm loving Ryder (not as good as Shepard, but he/she is passable) and I'm sadden that there is no Garrus/Wrex type of teammate but I'm not gonna flip my shit cause as someone who loves Kotor (which had almost 0 likable characters besides Revan and Bastila) I'm use to Bioware making the MC likable while everyone is meh.
I just completed my first Planet Terraforming Eon and I'll admit, going inside the Alien Structure was almost similar to Horizon: Zero Dawn's Cauldron in a kind of way but nevertheless, my experience so far has been satisfying and I'm growing into default male Ryder, he's no legendary badass Shepard but Ryder has what it takes to be the next big thing. Also the Paragon/Renegade choices, I can see why Bioware wanted to ditch that system, it feels like I'm not restricted to morals and I can say and do whatever I see fit but at least the interruptions are still there, just not in Paragon/Renegade for what you do and when I saw my first Interruption for when PeeBee bounce onto me, I didn't pull the trigger, I wanted to see what happen's next and it's aul a good thing I save so i can see what's the difference if I do it the button and if you do, you just push her off of you and from what I can tell, it doesn't look like it'll effect the outcome of the game in any ways like from the previous games.
The enemies encounters are similar to ME2/3 in a kind of way, see a patrol, get your weapons set ready, and prepare for battle.

I almost felt the high hopes ME3 had but even so, I knew it's a whole new trilogy and I been following the game since reveal and I know what I was getting. I'm growing into Ryder and he's not bad as I thought he be and I do like other members like Vetra, Cora, PeeBee, and even Liam to that extant. If there's one thing I don't like this new change is the auto covering, I been use to hit the button for so long but I too gotten use to it now.
Use SurfEasy VPN, doesn't cost a thing, just make sure you don't download too much while you have it running it in the background, cause the free version is only limited to 700mb.

Yea I can agree with this, in a pre-Witcher 3 world this might have been better received (though a lot of people would have complained still)
I've played maybe 10-12 hours of the Singleplayer now and it seems like they are trying to go for a lighter tone, maybe a Guardians of the Galaxy type of thing. I think this might explain why the writing seems a bit off at times, and I expect it will bother some more than others. I think the writers looked at Nathan Drake as a archetype for the male Ryder.
Also, I don't think the game deserve a 6/10, the combat is actually pretty good if you don't hide behind cover all the time. You can use plenty of different abilities and combine them with one another. The only poor part about the game are those horrendous animations.

Exactly. Too bad it glues you to cover without you wanting to take cover.
@silversix_: Watched the last couple of minutes and he seemed quite positive about it
He is. I sure as hell disagree about his jetpack statement, tho. I love me some jetpack mobility (was amazing in doom2016). But here, it is simply not smoothly implemented. When you're trying to climb a structure, and your character misses the edge instead of grabbing into it, or the top of your character's head hits a invisible roof and falls down instead of climbing into it. You simply do not see this kind of stuff in other games with great mobility (such as the latest CoDs, Titanfall, doom and so on). Its just not "snappy" enough for my taste. Maybe its just me.
I am starting to wonder if this game is one of those rare cases where there are less problems with the PC version (like with FO4 or Fallout New Vegas)
Those I know playing on PC (including myself) don't seem to be running into many serious bugs/glitches, while bugs seem to be a major complaint from a lot of people who are playing on consoles.
I wonder if this has something to do with the fact that you can only run/walk/sprint with a keyboard, and analog movement might be causing the animations to break more often?
maybe I've just gotten lucky

I use Barricade all the time.
Going to wait fora bargain sale, from the looks of it that shouldnt be long. Bioware has been falling off for a while now, sucks they used to be one of my favorite developers.

It's not just you, I haven't run into anything in the ordinary on PC as well but I have heard the PS4 version framerates are all over the place from different reviewers I read, so that might be the case but then again, Andromeda is using Frostbite 3 Engine which is meant for PC usage then console versions, same with Battlefield 1.
I been using my Xbox Elite controller and I felt like this game was made with a controller in mind. However, I do like how you can seamlessly switch back from Controller to KB/M between the two.

thats good to hear, I actually really like the kb+m controls. It feels really responsive and I like being able to quickly wheel around in the air while hovering. Not a lot of games manage to feel good on both.
I might try playing with a controller tonight so I can sit on the couch and play on my TV.
On PC, I have not found a way to turn of motion Blur or Depth of Field. DoF is way overdone in many scenes and I find it kind of disturbing turning it off isn't in the options menu, I hope Bioware dresses the issues later on. So far I am liking the game, though and at times it can be a real graphical treat.
There's too much try hard facial expressions for a bunch of grown ass(adult) characters. Who does this appeal to anyway? Even for a women characters this is terrible.
Mom told me to stop making faces..... when I was 5 years old.
A huge aspect that reviewers seem braindead at missing is the dialogue system and the very notion that other companies passed them up on their own system, which is false.
They complain that it has no impact with the characters around them, however, they miss that it absolutely has impact on the protagonist. The emotional responses "set" the personality of Ryder in autodialogue situations. This is by far the best dialogue system Bioware has ever done and I think they finally solve the problem of the disconnect between customizable avatar and a predefined character with voice acting. And Ryder actually goes through character development all through the game. Bioware protagonists did not do this in the past. She goes from being very uneasy with her role to one that is confident in the end.
The impact in the dialogue system is backwards from what critics try to judge it as.

They still only offer bitch options.

Probably wanted a depiction of a average women than an idealized one.
Because games aren't a fantastical escapism for a massive male audience, or females for that matter.
Just got Drek, so far I'm liking him more than Grunt but time will tell if he's better than Wrek. Peebee is alright but Liara is waaaaaaaay better while Cora is hands down better than any of the other human squad mates in the previous ME games. Overall the new squad is pretty decent and so far they lack the "bro"/"waifu" squad mates from previous ME games they are a lot better than what I was expecting.

Which is in character, and still fits the four personalities. Subtlety beats extremes with dialogue wheels.
@russianhacker37: The male Ryder is much better than female. He actually looks normal for the most part.
@davillain-: I don't mind the DoF, but the option should be there to disable it. I am not sure why the dialog scenes take such a performance hit compared to the rest of the game. There is very little going on and the frame rate takes a big hit. Doesn't make much sense. Shit optimization.
@mjorh: It's not bad as far as enemy encounters go, although they do use the obvious trope of "press this button here and get ready to defend against a wave of enemies" a lot. The combat itself is decent enough to be fun.
People want to call this DAI in space, but really, outside of some tasks on some planets (which repeat DAI's problem), its not. Many quests even match The Witcher 3's in their storytelling. And even the DAI type quests have better stories.

The Sara Ryder Preset 1 is the best in the game, plus she is the better VA than he.
Most people I respect who played this game love it. I don't understand the hate it got, it almost sounds like people were determined to hate this game no matter what.
I cast my vote in this thread and I believe I called a 7/10. I was told by silversix no way an ME game gets that low from GS. But having read there preview a few weeks back and just my betting on human psychology, I knew the bar was going to be high after Nioh, Horizon and Zelda all just came out recently. I knew ME was going to get dinged because most people cannot help have another game going on in their mind while supposedly being in the moment with one on the screen.
I am many hours in now and it is rough. The graphics aren't the best but as Eroica said that isn't my priority anyway when I play games. People disturbed so heavily by that are still wooed by shiny rocks LOL
The options with armor and mods for weapons are fun and necessary on higher difficulties. Once I started really placing a tweaking my weapons and armor mods I saw a difference in combat effectiveness.
The story is interesting so far it just plain suffers from what I said before, poor voice acting.
