@Ballroompirate: did you find a certain asari's research logs at all? Ahhh that beautiful voice still sounds so good after 600 years.
Finally decided to begin the campaign and played for about 4h. Hmmmmmmmmm its not that bad.
I imagine having your expectations lowered into the dirt helped
They vanished completely after reading 4-5 reviews and playing the trial :(
The trial is literally the worst part of the game. I'm about 20hrs in now, it doesn't deserve all the hate. Still some problems, but not as many as the reviews make it seem.
Was the trial the beginning of the game? Inclusing Eos?
If so, i can see why people hated it! What a terrible way to start the game. It was dry and boring and the second half seemed to drag on forever.
I literally just finished playing and came here to read through the last 10 or so pages to see if i was alone. I wanted to stop playing it!
Good to hear it gets better, i was really getting worried, and im a huge ME fan.

The reason why EA did the Trail from the beginning of the game was so that if you love the game, your save files will be kept should you buy full game is what EA wanted to do when your time Trail is over. I didn't hate Eos at the start, the problem was that it drag so long, but yes, once you get your own ship, the game get's really better.
The combat is so damn satisfying in andromeda, especially if you play on hard or insanity. Its big step forward from the mass effect trilogy
Ark missions are good with some great twists, damn this game is good, massive time eater too. Oh i'll just finish this planet annnddd 6 hours later, FInally.
After pouring in many hours into this game's story mode and multiplayer I have to say there's no way this game is a 6/10. It's an 8/10 at the very least. GS was just jumping on the the hate bandwagon when they reviewed this game and didn't give it a fair chance. Sure there's some janky animation and glitches but it doesn't distract enough from the lore and the satisfying gameplay. The combat system is legitimately better than what we had in the original trilogy for sure and it makes playing the campaign and multiplayer so rewarding from a pure gameplay standpoint. The lore is still there, and while I miss Shepard and the original trilogy gang the new crew mates aren't bad either. ME: Andromeda got robbed.

yea, I think there was a certain group of people who were just out for blood, and were determined to make as much of a fuss as possible about every little problem the game has. Negativity catches on easily on the internet, so people just dog-piled on the negativity bandwagon. In reality, I don't think the problems effect the overall experience as much as people claim.
honestly, its pretty much what I expected from a new ME game. It doesn't recapture the magic of ME1 (at least not for me), but its pretty damn solid in its own right. Given the change of developers and writers, it could have been much worse.
Man this game is fuckin' awesome! The combat is shaping up to be the best combat I've ever experienced in an action RPG, it's so damn fun with so many combos and weapons, for instance, pull the bastard then throw him following with a charge and at the end finish him with Omni-tool, dayuuuum!
The story is getting better and better, and characters are growing on me, I'm playing with Scott and his animations are pretty good for the most part.
The only annoying shit about the game is that idiot Addison lol, she's such an asshole and has the worst animation.
And them vistas!

Haven't started playing Multiplayer and based on only the Single player, i'm in line with you, no way this game is a 6/10 or an average game, and I hate the fact that the whole negativity will hurt the game's success, such a shame.

I just hope all the hate doesn't damage any sequel we'll get in the future. I hope EA doesn't overreact to the negativity and feel like ME:A was a horrible game and change everything in the sequel. I hate internet bandwagons, it's the most irritating shit ever. On SW I hate on games for the lulz but in real life I try to give every game a chance before hating on it. It seems most people on the internet just hate on games based on hearsay and don't even try to form opinions on their own which is sad. Metacritic is the end all be all for some people. They literally have no idea the number of good games they are missing out on because of placing too much emphasis on scores. If I spent my time only playing games that reviewers gave glowing reviews I'd be missing out on a lot of good games.

Couldn't agree more.
Yeah I know :D
Based on what i've seen so far, majority of ppl love this game, I mean you can check out Reddit or even here, the impressions are pretty much positive, I hope the word of mouth do the trick and more ppl buy the game so we can get a chance for a sequel.
Any big fans of the original series who have been playing Andromeda, what has been your impression?
Some seem to be enjoying the game, from comments I've read.

This game exposes the stupidity and the double standards of gaming journalists and game reviewers.
They bash Bioware for doing the same things that are ignored by reviewers in other games. Boring fetch quests, can't keep Breath of the Wild from being a 10. Interface issues, lets ignore The Witcher 3's, which is worse. Bad dialogue and humor, lets ignore FFXV. They are a bunch of hypocrites and should look at themselves in the mirror.
And really, Andromeda does a lot of things better than the trilogy. Journalists are too dumb and blind to see this.
And to think an even worse game, DAI, won a ton of GOTY awards.
Getting to the vault on Havarl or whatever its called (A Dying Planet was the quest I think?) gave me epic ME 1 vibes for some reason. Great mix of combat, exploration and conversations. Even a cool boss fight. Best part of the game so far.
I don't even think this was considered a main quest...
@Ballroompirate: did you find a certain asari's research logs at all? Ahhh that beautiful voice still sounds so good after 600 years.
Indeed I did considering Liara was my Shepards Waifu it was really awesome theres a few more nods to the trilogy but I'll let you find those :P.
About 20 hours in, no way is this a 6/10, it's like the media went on the reddit animation hate train and tried to claim they beat the game. Outside of a few animation issues (which aren't that bad on the ps4 version) the game is so far a 8.5/10. Also I have to laugh at the mouth breather reviewers qqing how there aren't that many new alien races in the game, do they not realize MEA is about human kind and some of the milky way alien species making a new start in a new galaxy?.
Massive issues with this game.
It's bugged to ****. I've been playing this morning for half an hour and had to restart twice just as an example. One where I got stuck in a room and the door wouldn't open. One where I was killed fighting a flying machine and it got stuck on the loading screen. It's a mess. Yesterday I had to restart three times for being stuck in the floor. There is one mission I darent try again because every time I have it crashes next time I try to load so I have to go back to an earlier save. So apart from having the weakest story and characters, apart from crap animation, apart from the weakest shittiest combat of the four with a laughable cover system (thanks to the racist Manveer Heir) I also can't play the game for more than 15 minutes without reloading.
Drack and ryders Bar fight scene may very well be the best fight scene in a bar ever in video game
How do you get this scene?

Doing dracks personal quest line after wards he invites you to a bar. Honestly all the personal quests are some of the best writing, dialogue, character interactions in the game
The more i play it, the more i'm starting to believe this is 8/10 worthy and NOT as boring as Inquisition. I sure as hell wasn't expecting that. And it does remind me of ME1 a ton.
Why in f****in hell did they make exploring the galaxy map and planets so needlessly long and cumbersome???
I really want to explore the planets but i have to wait for a long ass animation to fly around to the planet.
Its insane.
I get flying to another cluster............but this seems like punishment for us hating planet scanning and ME3's ending.

yea that planet transitioning animation is probably the worst design decision they made. Especially because you seem to fly between planets a lot more than in previous ME games, even without the planet scanning
@mems_1224: yep, this is mass effect 1 more fully realized. I can't comment on the story, as I'm a such a short way in, but this mass effect makes me feel like the space traveler mass effect 1 did, only this has really things to do in the universe.

And actually, notice this...almost all of them have something to do with the main narrative arc and are ingrained with the narrative.
You cannot say this about ME2.
But "Ryder's Family Secrets" may be the best side quest Bioware has done in its history.
This game on Insane is f*cking difficult. It may be because i'm only level 10 with no good weapons but damn. You get shreked in seconds. Can't play aggressively/fast paced.
Hate the mining on your Nomad. To deplete the resources, you have to turn so many circles around the mining zone. Really annoying.
The writing is as bad as Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Everyone is sassy even in the most harsh of situations.
I'm loving this game so far it's so much better than what I expected having read the reviews. I'm beginning to think these chumps played a different fucking game. I'm only about 10 hours in but already I'm thinking this game is an 8 or 9 at the very least.
I love the combat, I love the scenery, there's lore everywhere and it really enriches the game (don't ignore the codex you'll miss out on a lot) and I even like the much maligned characters. **** the reviewers and all the other clowns who jumped on the Andromeda hate wagon like fucking lemmings. Assholes.

It's not bad, it's light-hearted unlike the trilogy, so maybe that's why you don't like it.

one complaint kinda is to fully get into a relationship (atleast with cora) you cant activate it until from what I think is near the end game, in inquisition if was around mid game Then again I guess you could plow through the main story activate it then just spend 30 hours doing side quests for different dialogues with her. Side note her cutscene is damn cute as a character and as a ryder trying to romance her.
The game is pretty good over all, combat is a lot of fun.
The other third of the game though (talking and running about to talk to more people) is full of annoyances though. Not the running about talking to people, it is a Mass Effect game, but phoned in character animations and fugly plastic people everywhere. Apparently in the future people will drink through their nose, twist their head 90 degrees to the side when they are talking to you and stand very, very still in unnatural poses.
Just had the sex scene with Cora and Have to say the animation was pretty damn good Probably put all there resources into them I mean You could see the fire in the loins so to speak shown off by the facial animations.
And just finished the main campaign really loving what biowares doing allowing more stories after the main game makes it feel more real, Seems like there will be DLC but Exciting DLC. overall it's abouta 8.5/9 For me with room to move up or down depends on patches DLC.ETC. But damn was it good, now to keep playing
