Master Chief is an iconic figure more recognizable than any other in gaming besides Sonic. Yes even Mario trails behind him and yes Sonic is still the most recognized.

i'm confused...do u know what a mascot is for? if ppl like it let it be, ppl do cause they are one sided, heck i like him cause he is a one sided character, i haven't found one of those since mario. everything is so fleshed out with charcter and stories in games(which i love) but it is intresting to find a game that has a decent sory and one sided character.

The fact that Halo is a game that is enjoyed by millions of people is evidence enough to anyone that the reason and intent for them creating a skit for Mastercheif is because he's an iconic, positive figure. To say otherwise is to deny Mastercheif's role in all 3 Halo games.

It's all about perception as is them portraying DUBYA in their skits. The perception of MC stems from how successful Halo games are and how well they are liked by others. By admitting that they only do skits for "high profile" nouns, you admit that Snake is'nt on the level of Mastercheif when it comes to status.

The whole concept of Halo is under this principle that you speak of.

MS and Bungie basically used concepts and ideas from other games and made them really polished.

It doesnt mean its not a good game.

Master Chief doesn't really have that much character, but he's definitely not forcing anything. He doesn't talk very much. He just kinda does his thing. He isn't quite a Link/Gordon Freeman level silent protagonist, but he's not far removed from it.

I still actually liked the line in the Cortana level when she asks Chief "So, what's the plan?" and he says, "Thought I'd shoot my way out. Mix things up a bit."

Whether it's the greatest game ever or the worst ever is to each person's own preference, just like every other game. What cannot be denied is that the game is just about the biggest name in the industry next to Mario.
