In terms of level of interest I have about each game, I'm gonna say: Halo > Killzone > Crysis >>>> Metroid.
I hate Nintendo for being the originators of the videogame sequel. Make some new original games please... My mistake, they have Cooking Mama, right? Aren't they releasing a health food game too?? Anyone up for some Cooking Mama 2? What a joke. Nintendo is going to be the death of video game development. It's like they are afraid of change. For god's sake, the Wii is a flattened Gamecube. I liked them better when they couldn't sell a console to save their lives...
Nintendo hatred asside, I really don't see what the appeal behind Metroid is. I played Metroid Prime on my GC and couldn't get past the first couple hours because it was so damned boring. Shooting laser guns are okay but every single FPS has them. Resistance has them, Halo has them, big f'n whoop. Cool, I can rool up into a little ball and... ummm... move and stuff. sweet. Cool, I'm actually a girl under the suit... it's cool because that makes the gameplay super sexy now... Cool... uhhh... did I mention that I can roll up into a little ball and all the exciting modes of gameplay that creates?
I hope that all these stupid first party Nintendo rehashes bomb so that they will force a stale company with a gimmick of a console to do something original. Oh and in case you're wondering, motion controls sure as hell aren't original. They are just the first company to sell it with success. A few months ago, people were selling "futuristic motion controlled games" at Kiosks in malls for 15 bucks. I could play ping pong on my freaking TV! Then Nintendo got some brilliant idea to stick their logo on it and all of a sudden it was the most original thing that anyone had ever seen. What do these brilliant motion controls allow you to do? Oh you can uh... roll up into a little ball and uhh... move around with it and stuff... cool!Â
So yeah, Metroid sucks.
Sorry about that rant but I hate fads with a passion... Now if you'll excuse me, I have to listen to my iPod as my furby broke and I can't find my Pokemon cards anywhere.Â

I completely agree with you about hating fads, but the Wii is only a fad until more games come out which genuinely take advantage of the wiimote. Also, this is one of the more bipolar arguments I've heard in a while. First you're saying that Nintendo invented the sequel and are thus afraid of innovation, and then you mention the Wii as being evidence of this? Really? So you're trying to tell me that slapping more RAM, HDD space and a more powerful GPU and CPU in a box (read: PS3 & 360) is more innovative than ignoring the "bigger is better" idea about graphics, and trying to take gameplay in a direction at least 90 degrees (if not 180) away from where videogames are otherwise headed? I really can't see how you can possibly make the argument that Nintendo is the most guilty of the 3 (or 4, if you count the PC) in this department; what exactly is so innovative about any of the other consoles (and please keep in mind, this is coming from someone who plays his 360 much more than his Wii)? No knock on Sony or Microsoft, because they made great products, but after playing each one for 5 minutes, I think most people will agree that the Wii clearly stands head and shoulders above them in said department.
Also, I'm not exactly sure what this has to do with Metroid Prime 3. You hate sequels, but you're more interested in Halo 3 and Killzone 2 (which may not even be good, if Killzone 1 is any indication) than Metroid Prime 3? So what you're really saying is that you don't really mind sequels (or lack of innovation), but you just really hate Metroid, and therefore are trying to justify that hatred? Again, to each his own, because I'm sure the more methodical and exploratory style of Metroid has put off many people over the years, but don't dress up your own distaste for the series. You'll find that plenty of people out there (myself included) prefer Metroid Prime to Halo any day of the week. Halo is the king of multiplayer consoles FPS, but for single player experiences, give me Metroid all the way.
