It does not have some, or few, it has many. Take a look at it this way: when MP was 2D, was it a shooter? Perhaps a better question would be was it anything like Contra, or Metal Slug, both of which are shooters? The answer is no. MP is more of an adventure game. If you read a certain post above this one, someone explains how its actually an action-adventure (that gets even more into semantics).

My logic is flawless. I never wrote MP is FPS, I just wrote it's not an adventure game and that much is true. MP is simply action-adventure, preety typical one(when it comes to proportions of action to adventure elements). that's exacly what MP is: action-adventure. So please...don't call it adventure, because it makes even less sense than calling it FPS.

To compare MP3 with Halo 3, Killzone 2 and Crysis is incredibly stupid. I wouldn't recommend to question a game's gameplay without trying it, either (Crysis). Litchie

comparing MP3 to Killzone 2 is very smart. MP3 will probably be better than Killzone 2.

As for the other 2 games, it's not that stupid to compare MP3 to them.

Crysis was built for gameplay first, graphics second - judging my how amazing the graphics are, well, we can only guess at the job they did on gameplay. Far Cry was a solid game, I don't see Crysis being bad *at all* - even if it doesn't merit a AAA on gameplay alone.

Metroid Prime 3 doesn't have co-op, multiplayer, online, et cetera - you really think it's going to beat a game like Killzone 2 or Halo 3? The single player is *all* MP3 has, frankly, I can see some of the review knocks now. Right off the bat, sound, the area the Wii is weak in, is going to hurt MP3. No surround? No true surround, atmospheric music, thanks to worse sound procesisng equipment?

Then we've got the issues of graphics and controls - no Wii FPS has gotten the controls perfect yet - when it comes to reviews the feeling has been "meh" - are we really betting this is going to change things?

MP3... solid game, not the FPS of the year. If you're betting MP3 will be a better gameplay experience, or better value, than Halo 3, you're out of your mind.

Just a comment on Halo in specific: If we're talking better value, then yes, I suppose the online multiplayer of Halo 3 easily puts it on top, but in terms of gameplay, you've got to be specific. Single player gameplay? If Halo 2 was any indication, MP 3 has Halo 3 beat, without a problem.

as for metroid prime 2,i couldnt bring myself to finish the game because the dark world was really annoying..

i'll take metroid prime over prime echoes any day.

I love the game and all,  but it's not a FPS.

I hope the Wii doesn't ruin the gameplay... 

I like Metroid prime, but the graphics are average, the conrtols are crap and the respawning enemies make the game a pain in the ass, Halo is a lot better,

Metroid 3-D doesn't know if it wants to be a FPS or some freaky hybrid that doesn't feel right. And the multi player sucks massively.

I would be pissed if MP3 was a FPS...Nintendo excels at Action Adventure,  not FPS...I buy Nintendo consoles for Action/Adventure games..

If we're talkig quality then, a 9.4 is still better than a 9.1. 

And no, MP didn't win GOTY over Halo considering it came out a year later than it.  GTA3 beat out Halo for GOTY in 2001.  MP was out in 2002.

It's not weird, Metroid prime echoes sucked, simple as that. I couldn't finish it either and I finished the first one 3 times. That's why I'm not really hyped about the next one.

It's not weird, Metroid prime echoes sucked, simple as that. I couldn't finish it either and I finished the first one 3 times. That's why I'm not really hyped about the next one.

Same with me.  Must have been the atmosphere or general premise, or something.  But MP2 just couldn't hold a candle to the first, and it's mutliplayer was pretty lame.  Also the sequence breaking in the first gave me even more reasons to spend countless hours on Metroid Prime.  I hope MP3 is more like the first as far as the advanture apsect of it goes.   Hopefully they spent more time on the multiplayer too.  But to the best FPS this year... Wii wouldn't even be able to handle it if it were the case (too weak).  Plus it ain't even an FPS.

Oh..so I guess that makes GTA a racing game then :D Sorry, but MP is not an adventure game. It plays nothing like one.  

and no..there are parts in Halo when you HAVE to use Warthog, you don't have any choice. So I guess Halo is a racing game to you also :D
