MGS 4 > GTA IV (POLL)

If you carefully read what I posted above(the long post) you will know by now that GTAIV fails in the other aspects of a video gameAgentH

It's fails because you say so? No way. Its graphics are good and its story is good. GTA excels in the most important department, gameplay.

MGS4 on the other hand is perfect because every aspect in the GAME is being worked on PERFECTLY well, according to the latest previews!AgentH

Regardless of the previews, you have no idea how the production is going.

I'm sure alot of game developers strive their hardest to make a perfect game. Does that always happen? No.

Even Hideo Kojima has never made it happen.

You my friend should know that GTAIV doesn't deliver everything at all, I mean how is the game going to appeal to graphics whores or mind blowing story lovers!? I hope you understand what I am exactly saying, MGS4 is offering the best for every whore! 1) GTA is objectively bigger than MGS in anyway you want to measure it. The scale of the game is bigger, it is more famous, it reviews better. MGS has nothing going in its favor in those departments.

2)MGS is hardly a game of all seasons. It may satisfy graphics whores and story lovers, but it doesn't appeal to gamers who want gameplay to take priority. In MGS, story forces gameplay onto the back burner.

3)MGS is not as popular as GTA because it doesn't have mass appeal. It's lack of universal appeal seems to contradict your point about it satisfying all kind of whores.

4)You might want to enroll yourself into a critical thinking course.

Niether game is perfect, but I would argue that GTA gives priority to what is more important.

Remember, games are not required to have a story, but they must have gameplay.

Metal Gear Solid is the BEST game series ever created!!! it perfects every aspect of a game... story, gameplay, graphics & animations, controls, sound, characters, multiplayer & online (MGS4),accesibility, extra feautres, replay value etc....

Metal Gear Solid is the BEST game series ever created!!! it perfects every aspect of a game... story, gameplay, graphics & animations, controls, sound, characters, multiplayer & online (MGS4),accesibility, extra feautres, replay value etc....

Correction, MGS is the most overrated series of all time. Only one of the games has even scored over a 9.0 here.

If you read the whole thread, I said MGS has great gameplay. I said it was clever and varied.

But objectively, it is lacking because it takes second priority. If you removed the cutscenes, the game would fall apart.

In GTA, if you removed the cutscenes, there'd be minimal impact because the gameplay is emphasized.

You are willfully missing the point.

I am saying that the game is oversaturated with cutscenes and that dilutes the gameplay. There is not much meat on that games bones when you look beneath the graphics and cinematics.

Sure, the gameplay is great when it is in exsistence, but there's just way too much time spent with one's hands not on the controller.

but this gen is all about multiplatform and while it had a impact in the past..i think a game this gen will be defined on how the game is..and not what the game is and what platform you can purchase it on..

Trying to compare two games that are not even out yet and have no reviews?.

I'll take GTA4 every time.

I honestly think neither will define the generation. They stick to beaten paths that they themselves created.

If anything defines the generation, it will be something new.

Still, there's no doubt in my mind that GTA4 will sell better and review better.

how about you look at metacritic instead of ONLY gamespot (a site whith crappy reviews). GS isnt the only site on the internet u know. and correction MGS isnt the most overrated series of all time, that title belongs to HALO. MGS-is-PS

I agree about Halo, but the fact is, GTA scores better most places. It just a more well-recieved game series.
